SKS' - Cavs Dynasty

Postby SKempSonics on Sun Mar 07, 2004 4:32 am

I've been enjoying playing this dynasty so far. (As for my seattle one, i'm progressing slowly and will still, at some point, update that.)

Anyway this will be a more brief/not-as-in-depth chise as my Seattle one.

Right now i am 4-3 and have made the following moves.

-Signed PF Shawn Kemp (58 ovr) to a 1 year deal for the Minimum.

Game 5
-----------------
-Traded SF Darius Miles, PG DeJaun Wagner, and SF Eric Williams to the Golden State Warriors for SF Mike Dunleavy Jr., PF Troy Murphy, and PG Speedy Claxton. The Cavaliers would send PF Troy Murphy to the Milwaukee Bucks for SF Toni Kukoc.

-Traded C Tony Battie to the Orlando Magic for SG Gordan Girecek.

Current Rumors
--------------------------
The Cavaliers are looking to try and find, either within the team, or in free agency, an answer to backup their center position. They feel that Diop has not been performing well the past two games with the new team.

Cleveland Cavaliers - 132 vs. Boston Celtics - 128

A high scoring game was had in Boston this week as the Cavaliers managed to pull off a key victory to help move them up to 6-3 on the regular season. Lebron James had a hell of a night, despite not playing it all. After getting in early foul trouble with 3 fouls in the first quarter (2 assists in 1st quarter) Lebron James would sit down until half-time. When the 3rd quarter started, Lebron James lit the Celtics defense up. James finished with 32 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks, 4 steals, and 8 assists in a stellar performance. Meanwhile solid outputs from Carlos Boozer (24 pts - 11 reb - 7 blk - 2 as) and Mike Dunleavy Jr. (19 pts - 5 reb - 2 stl - 5 as) allowed the Cavaliers to douse the Celtics recent winning streak.

I like those trades too. (Y) As Waring mentioned, Redd would be a good choice if you're looking to upgrade at shooting guard. Otherwise, you could always move LeBron to the shooting guard spot and start Claxton at the point.

Cavaliers Address Backup Center Issue

AP - Earlier today the Celveland Cavaliers have finalized their roster, according to their general manager "We've made all the moves we've been looking at doing. Not to say nothing could potentially happen down the road, but right now, we're not purposely out there looking for more deals." This announcement was made just a few hours after a trade between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Sacramento Kings. The Cavaliers send center DeSagnia Diop and point guard Kevin Ollie to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Vlade Divac. Divac will fill in for Zydrunas Ilgauskus coming off the bench for the remainder of the year. Divac is averaging 8.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.3 blks per game so far this season with the Kings off the bench. The Cavaliers hope this will bring a new playmaker too the team, that can help them off the bench.

First Game, New Team

Cleveland Cavaliers - 120
vs.
Philadelphia 76ers - 114

The Cleveland Cavaliers found themselves performing a great second half comeback in Philadelphia today. At the end of the first quarter, the Philadelphia 76ers had a 13 point lead. At the end of the second quarter, they had a 9 point lead, but by the end of the 3rd, the Cavaliers were leading by 8. The good news? Vlade Divac helped the team immediately...the bad news? He got more playing time then expected. Early in the first quarter, Ilgauskus suffered an elbow injury that would keep him out for the remainder of the game. He left with only 4 points and 1 rebound on the night. However the solid play of LeBron James and Carlos Boozer is what sealed the victory for Cleveland. LeBron James had 34 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and 5 assists in a turnover-ridden game. Meanwhile Carlos Boozer stepped up with his 26 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 blocks. Boozer continues to put up solid numbers, and is starting to perk some eyebrows around the league. The Cavliers had a season-high in turnovers, with 38 turnovers in the game due to absolutely horrible passing. But two key 3-pointers late in the game by Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Kedrick Brown, helped to give them the narrow victory.

Cleveland Cavaliers - 106
vs.
Los Angeles Clippers - 124

The Cavaliers once again struggled without Ilgauskus during the game. The last contest Cleveland barely came out victorious 120 to 114 over the 76ers as Ilgauskus suffered an elbow injury. Int his game however, in the first quarter, Ilgauskus quickly garner 3 fouls. He would not see action until he was snet in during the 3rd quarter, less then a minute later he picked up his 4th and was taken out unitl the 4th quarter. Ilgauskus finished the game with 12 minutes, 7 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks. However Carlos Boozer did step up in Ilgauskus absence with 26 pts, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocks on the night. However it was not enough to stop the scoring tandem of Quentin Richardson (32 pts) and the surprising outting for Jaric (27). The Cavaliers could not get it done defensively today as the Clippers grabbed the lead in the 3rd quarter, and never let go. LeBron James had 19 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists, and 4 steals on the night, but it was all for naught as the Cavaliers lost by eighteen.
