Carmelo Anthony's another MVP performance helped Denver to earn their first win far from home.Anthony alongside with Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Lebron James of the Miami Heat are considered early MVP candidates.
The Smith-Jennings-Anthony trio led the Nuggets to a 60-39 second half which was the key to success in this game.At the half Denver were 6 points behind the Rockets after good first half by Yao and Brooks. The big man from China had double double at the half with 11 points and 10 rebounds while last year's most improved player,Aaron Brooks had 10 points and 3 assists. The third quarter started with a 9-0 run for the Nuggets after two three pointers by Brandon Jennings. He started the turnaround and Smith and Anthony followed him.Carmelo scored 17 of his 27 points in the 2nd half while J.R. had 9 points in the last quarter.
In the last quarter the Rockets were forced to make too many turnovers and they led the Nuggets to score a lot of points from fastbreaks.

The Nuggets bench helped them for a blowout win against the Cavs21 | 17 | 10 | 22 | 70

--Denver,Colorado
Just two days before the Miami Heat will visit the Nuggets,Denver prepared themselves with a blowout win against the Cavs. After losing Lebron James this summer, the Cleveland Cavaliers went from contenders to losers. There was a little trash talk before the this game.Lebron James said on a ESPN interview that he and his Heat are ready to go out and smash Denver on Sunday.Denver's superstar Carmelo Anthony wasn't sure about that and he said that this trio wouldn't win the championship this season. He said that the NBA champion will be a west team again.
Anyway the game started slow with a 21-21 first quarter and nothing interesting. Then the Nuggets took over the game and went in the locker room with 10-point lead at the half. They decided to give sometime their bench players and to give rest to the starters for the game against Miami. And the subs didn't disappoint them.Arron Afflalo who was a starting shooting guard in the first game now scored 16 points off the bench while the newcomer Michael Redd added 12 including a great poster on JJ Hickson and Antawn Jamison.Ty Lawson was the leading assist man with 8.JR Smith was the leading scorer with 18 points.Carmelo Anthony added 17 points and 8 rebounds
For the Cavs,Maurice Williams who is now their star scored 18 points and 9 assists.Cleveland aren't looking good and they had only 1 win after 4 games.
