WE OL' GUYS! | HOME OPENER LOST VS. SUNS [0-1]

Wed Oct 20, 2010 10:55 pm

A STEVO DYNASTY

WE OL' GUYS

Image

SYSTEM: NBA 2K11 (PC)
GAMES: 29 per season (i don't have that much time...)
SLIDERS: mine, adjusted
QUARTERS: 8 minutes
SIM QUARTERS: 10 minutes
DIFFICULTY: All star

The idea:
A fantasy draft. The Chicago Bulls.
I only allowed myself (25th pick) to draft players who were 30 years old or older: Means, we have a lack of quickness on the defense. I'll see how that works out.
Also, because of the quarter's length we won't get that 120 PpG-average as a team. I think something between 70 and 85 will come out, I'm fine with that. I'll also try to play as realistic as possible.
Let's get it on!

HOW did you get Nowitzki, Camby, Allen, Parker, Hill, Miller, AND Fisher with the 25 pick?

Some luck involved, but Parker, Hill, Fisher etc. are all around 70. And Nowitzki was my first choice. Also maybe, as with smarter AI, they wer's too old.

He won't be the best, but he'll do that. I won't use that much motion or dribble drive offense, so his lack of ability to run the point will be hidden. ;-)

First 3 games played, but too tired to recap them now.
First update will come likely saturday, maybe Tomorrow evening as I'm off Tomorrow.
Allen is solid on the point.

Any suggestions from somebody?

AND - how do i link those 2k boxscores to the reply? I've read it somewhere, but i dunno where. Thanks for your help, if it comes ;-)

Why is it stacked? Good rotation on the small positions, but the Big Men, forget 'em! xD
Also nobody is known for his D, except for Camby. ;-)

BULLS LOSE HOME OPENER
Shaq too much for soft Bulls' front court
CHICAGO. In a mostly close season opener, the newly formed Chicago Bulls fell to the Phoenix Suns, who were dominating the class and the paint. Shaquille O'Neal was named Player of the Game for his 13 points/13 rebounds-performance, in which he simply overpowered Marcus Camby and Nazr Mohammed down in the post.
The Suns, stacked with Kobe Bryant and Caron Butler on the wing positions, both posting 15 points, were off to a quick 8:0-start, caused by many turnovers by the Bulls contributed on the offensive end where many passes where intercepted. The Bulls took their time to restore their confidence offensively, and Dirk Nowitzki hit a quick pull up-jumper from the right wing for their first two points (2:8, 2nd minute). Following the Bulls couldn't really get close to the Suns, as Kobe Bryant denied every try to cut the score close with hitting two quick threes.
In the second quarter Derek Fisher managed to slow down the Suns offensively in a defensive tandem with Anthony Parker. Therefore the Bulls tried to get back in the game while putting the ball in the hands of Nowitzki, who scored one bucket after bucket, with fadeaway-jumpers, whom the Suns did not manage to deny effectively. As both headed for the locker room in the half time, Bryant and Nowitzki both had 12 points in their portfolio, which the score on 39:33 for the Suns.
Thereafter the game did not change: Nowitzki continued to hit buckets on the offensive end while the Suns had luck with Shaquille O'Neal, as the old dominator managed to score 10 points alone in the 3rd quarter.
The 4th quarter was the only one the Bulls managed to win, as only with one point because the Suns second-unit was on the floor.
After the game, Coach Thibodeau said that "we were too slow down there on the defensive end, for sure on the 2 or 3 spot." He ensured that the Bulls will work on that. Another problem was their shooting from beyond the arc, where they went for 3-13 (,231 3P%).

Now the Bulls head off the Kings on the road.

Shaq's dominance inside is still alive

Bulls: Nowitzki 20, Allen 12/2 3's, Miller 9/1, Parker 8, Hill 6, Thomas 6, Camby 3, Fisher 2, Mason 2, Williams, Mohammed, Evans

Stat Leaders:
Pts - 20 Nowitzki | 15 Bryant

As - 3 Allen | 4 Lowry
