76ers' Star Andre Iguodola Sidelined With Thumb Injury
• Friday October 28, 2009: Philadelphia, PA
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- After taking two tough losses to start off the season, things couldn't have gotten any worse for the Philadelphia 76ers. After their most recent game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Andre Iguodala's right thumb was examined by team doctors in the locker room. The diagnosis was a sore thumb, and it's apparently bad enough to keep him off of the court for about a week or so. He is right handed, so it most likely would have affected his shooting touch. The earliest he may be back is next Sunday, November 8th, on the road against the Detroit Pistons. Three-point specialist Jason Kapono has been activated to replace Iguodala, and Louis Williams will take his place in the starting lineup.
Green, Williams Serve As Unlikely Heroes At The Garden In Sixer's First Win Of Season
• Saturday October 31, 2009: Madison Square Garden - New York, NY
Recap
NEW YORK (AP) -- Louis Williams was given a huge task in Philadelphia's third game of the season. Not only did he have to match up against a former two-time scoring champ in Tracy McGrady, but also had to fill the shoes of the injured Andre Iguodala. He was inserted into the 76ers' starting lineup for the first time this season. Williams was able to put up an impressive stat-line though, consisting of 19 points, with 5 three pointers made, and 4 steals. McGrady got the best of him though; the seven-time All-Star had 27 points and 8 assists. He did turn over the ball 6 times though, and missed 9 threes and 17 shots in total. Philly was able to limit star David Lee to just 6 points, but Al Harrington provided the Knicks with a double-double, consisting of 22 points and 10 boards. The story of the night was the effecient play of Wille Green off the Sixer's bench. He surprised the rowdy New York crowd by posting 22 points in just 16 minutes of play. He was superb overall, shooting 7/10 from the field, 4/5 from downtown, and 4/4 from the foul line.

Dynamic Duo Of Allen & Pierce Leads Way For Boston As 76ers Remain Below .500
• Tuesday November 3, 2009: Wachovia Center - Philadelphia, PA
Recap
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- It was all Celtics in the Wachovia Center Tuesday night, as they were able to pull away from the Sixers after an early third quarter run. Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Rajon Rondo were their only players who scored in double figures. They each had 37, 30, and 10 points respectively for their ball club. Rondo wasn't quite himself, as the only shot he made all night was a three pointer; the rest of his points came from free throws. Pierce and Allen got it done from all angles for Boston though, who relied solely on their veterans. For Philadelphia, it was Lou Williams once again, who led his squad this time with 16 points. Allen Iverson posted 15 points and dished 9 assists, while Elton Brand scored 10 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. Big man Samuel Dalembert chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds for the Sixers.
