I just Played my first Game against the Magic here's a Report:

Magic @ Knicks

1st Quarter

Both Teams started the Game very concentrated and played good D. After 2 Mins the Knicks had established a 6-2 Lead, Stephon Marbury however felt that this wasn't enough and chipped in 10 Points in the next 2 Minutes to give the Knicks a comanding eleven point Lead at 17-6 with 5 Minutes to go. Marbury managed to get by Tyronn Lue who was defending him pretty good with the help of great picks by Nazr Mohammed and Kurt Thomas. After the 11-4 Strech the Knicks cooled off for the Rest of the Quarter however and played pretty lazy Defense. The Magic took their Chance to close the Gap and ended the Quarter with a 17-10 Streak.

Top Perfomers:
Knicks:
Stephon Marbury 10 Points,4/5 FG,1/2 3pt,1/3 FT,1 Ast

Steven Hunter 0 Points,5 Rebs,1 Blk

Key Stats:

Knicks: 55% FG,10 Rebs,9 Ast

2nd Quarter

Lenny Wilkens decided to give his Bench Player some time in the 2nd Q and had them on the Court for the entire 10 Minutes. The Knicks' 2nd 5 was just as good as the first one however, knocking down 3 3Pointers and 60% of their FG's to score 29 Points. Penny Hardaway alone had 13 of them, hitting nearly everything from the Field and frustrating Keith Bogans, who was defending him until he got his 3rd Fould alfway through the Quarter. Dikembe Mutombo and Frank Williams had 13 Points together and 4 Rebounds apiece while F-Will also dished out 5 Assists. The Knicks had Problems with Tracy McGrady, who often scored with Fast Break Dunks and finished the Half with 13

Points - tie game high.

3rd Quarter

The Knicks came out of the Locker Room red-hot as they hit their first 5 Shots in the second Quarter to build a 10 Point Lead at 67-57. Both Teams played excellent Offense and where virtually unstoppable. McGrady was once again able to finish many Fastbreaks and came away with 13 Points in the 3rd. Nazr Mohammed,Tim Thomas and Stephon Marbury led the Knicks on both ends of the Court with good Shooting on Offense and excellent On Ball Defense and good Rebounding on Defense.

4th Quarter

Both Teams started the 4th with the Starting 5 on the Court, and played extremely organized, slow basketball. 3 Minutes into the last Stanza the Magic managaed to cut the deficit to 3 Points at 90-93. Botht Teams played equally well for some time until the Knicks had another good Streak with Frank Williams and Nazr Mohammed as their Best Players in that Strech. They had a 6 Point Lead with 4 Minutes to go before not scoring for 3 Minutes to see the Game tied at 102. After Houston scored, Marbury had the Chance to extend the Knicks' Lead to 4 with a pair of Free Throws with just a Minute to go. He made only 1 of 2 and saw Tyronn Lue tie the Game with a 3pointer on the next posession. After Tim Thomas,Juwan Howard and Marbury each made a Shot the Knicks had the advantage at 109-107 with 28.9 seconds to go. Tracy McGrady
got the Ball just outside the 3Pt Line, crossed Tim Thomas over and burried the fade away Jumpshot in his face to tie the game at 109 with 22.6 left on the Clock.
Marbury dribbled the Ball upcourt after Wilkens took the Timeout and got the pick from Mohammed with 8 left to play, McGrady however helped Tyronn Lue and didn't let
Marbury get a chance to shoot. Stephon passed the Ball to the right to Kurt Thomas,Thomas got up against Juwan Howard and burried the Buzzer-Beater...Knicks win:

111-109.

Cool pics :D

Id try and make a trade for Kenny Thomas and Rodney White for sure as for the deal with Memphis imo u should try and get Swift and Posey rather than Miller, better D better rebounder and can put up points when needed.

Blockbuster Deal

Postby Alex on Fri Mar 05, 2004 4:15 am

Knicks get Posey,Battier
ImageImage
I just completed the following Blockbuster 3-Way Trade

New York trades:
SG A.Houston
C D.Mutombo
SG D.Johnson
SF S.Anderson

New York receives:
SF James Posey
SG Shane Battier
------------------------------------------

Detroit trades:
PF Rasheed Wallace
SG Hubert Davis
SF Darvin Ham

Detroit receives:
SG A.Houston
C D.Mutombo
SG S.Anderson
------------------------------------------

Memphis trades:
SF James Posey
SG Shane Battier

Memphis receives:
PF Rasheed Wallace
SG D.Johnson
------------------------------------------

Why NY does it

I get 2 Young athletic Swingmen, who are strong on Defense and Offense for 2 of the worst Contracts in Sports History, a aging Back-Up Center and an underachchieveing (spell) SG.

Why DET does it

They take on some Bad Contract but get bigger and deeper for the Playoffs.

Why MEM does it

They get a Superstar...:D

i seriously love the trade...
ahh yeah...ham and davis have been cut from the team...they had expiring contracts anyway...

KNICKS @ SPURS

After Trailing all game I managed to cut the Spur's Lead down to 5 in the final to Minutes of the Game. After Nazr and Stephon tied the Game at 86 Tony Parker dribbled

upcourt for the last possession of the Spurs: 3.9 seconds left to play, Parker fakes, Marbury jumps, Praker gets the Foul and 3 Free Throws. He made all of them to give

the spurs the 3 Point Lead. I sub in Shane Battier as he is my best 3 Point Shooter. Marbury inbounds the Ball to him. He's about 2 meters inside the Line, makes the

stepback, fakes, bowen jumps, gets the shot up and hits it with 0.2 seconds to go...OVERTIME!
I got killed in Overtime, tho as Tony Parker hit 4/4 3pters and the spurs scored 22 Points in 5 Minutes of Play.
111-106

Battier with 23 Points
Mohammed with 23 Rebounds and 8 Assists

Tony Parker with 41 Points - 10 3Pters
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Posey and Battier where impressive in their Debuts combining for 40 Points and providing some tight D. Mohammed rebounds like a Mad Man...i don't regret tradind Deke...he also held Duncan to just 8 Points...
