After that upsetting loss last season, LeBron James, the reigning league MVP became more focused and hungry for that Championship Ring."We lost our focus,we had our chance but we didn't take it.I'm not blaming anyone for that loss to the Orlando Magic. We win and we lose together."James said after an exclusive interview. The Cavs boosted their lineup as they traded for veteran superstar Shaquille O'neal."I think I can make good contributions on this team.Just like I promised,I will bring the King a Ring."Shaq was serious about those words and promised to be healthy the whole season. The Cavs also re-signed F/C Anderson Varejao to a multi-year contract. The Cavs' mismatch problems in defending two guards were solved,as they came into agreements with free agent Anthony Parker and Jamario Moon. The Cavs also signed currently injured Forward Leon Powe.Powe helped the Celtics beat the Cavaliers during the 07-08 playoffs."We thought a lot about it and we came up into a decision to sign him(Leon).I think he would make a great impact on our team, especially coming off the bench."GM Danny Ferry said during a Press Conference.

Any chances that you'll trade someone from your roster if . . . your team somewhat disappoints you ?

NBA DAILY

Cavs sends 22 year old Center R.Kurz to D-League,Sign veteran Forward Mikki Moore!

Image

"We know that Mikki(Moore) can provide us with a solid back up Forward until Powe can get back to the line up.His years of experience will provide developing players like J.J.(Hickson) learn more."said Mike Brown.Moore played for the Celtics last season when he was signed as a free agent together with Stephon Marbury. He averaged 3.9 PPG and 3.7 RPG last season with the Celtics."Even if he does not show a lot in the stat sheet,he does a lot of things to help the team.He brings energy and does well in keeping opponents off their sweet spots."comments GM, Danny Ferry.Leon Powe is expected to be back before the All Star week end.

Cavaliers offer Anderson Varejao and Mikki Moore for Wizard Forward Antawn Jamison

Image

"I know Mikki(Moore) just got here from free agency, but we have had talks with the Wizards and they are willing to trade Antawn(Jamison).Danny Ferry said that signing Moore was purely Brown's idea, but the two have reached an agreement to trade Moore whenever a a great deal could come in.Jamison who requested to be traded was delighted when the Cavs offered a trade. The versatile Forward averaged 22.2 points,8.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists. He carried the ailing Wizards team together with Caron Butler, who lost Gilbert Arenas to an injury early in the season."Jamison really gives us the fire power we need.He would really help take the scoring load off Lebron and also help a lot in rebounding the basketball.I think it's a fair deal, because we are losing Andy who gives us a lot of energy and hustle. We will surely miss him if this deal goes through."Mike Brown said during an interview.

Wizards accept offer.Jamison to Cleveland,Varejao and Moore to Washington.
Image Image Image

"We think the trade of Antawn Jamison for Anderson Varejao and Mikki Moore will make both of our teams better. We accept the trade offer."This message was sent by the Wizards office 12 hours after the offer was made.Jamison will be expected to play against the Suns.Jamison provides the Cavs with scoring and rebounding abilities, but they will surely miss the hustle tha Varejao bring them."Not that Antawn can't hustle, but it's the plays that Anderson(Varejao) gives us.He moves so well on the floor without the ball and can easily draw charges.Antawn on the other hand can score and create shots for himself,a thing the team really needs on the post."GM Danny Ferry said.

Not a bad start for a first dynasty

Suggestions:

    · Qtr-to-qtr recaps, intensive stat tracking + an 82 game season is a recipe for dynasty burnout; try simple 1st/2nd half summaries or full game summaries highlighting key moments or turning points to help keep your dynasty going strong; off the top of my head, homicide, its_asdf, martti all do this really well so you might want to check their dynasties out;

    · I'd lose the Overall Summary if already doing qtr-to-qtr breakdowns to avoid redundancy; also, since you're doing qtr-to-qtr, there's no need to do an Overall Summary since you've already covered it the first time (catch my point?)

    · Avoid BABOTs (big-ass-blocks-of-text) whenever possible ie., the Overall Summary; honestly... if you hadn't written that text and saw all those words and numbers, would you feel inclined to read it or skip it?
All n' all though, there's some good effort you've put in so far and that can carry a dynasty a long way (Y)

Hah, Clutch is definitely right with the overly long and descriptive recaps..... Reminds me of when I did my very first dynasty and I did the exact same thing; formatting my recaps quarter by quarter. Like Clutch said, don't really stress yourself too much on the finer points of the game. It's also good to look/read some of NBA.com's or ESPN's recaps and articles to improve your writing and formatting to see how the pros would do it.

Glad to see you try your hand at a dynasty though. With the forum kind of inactive lately and the regular season starting up, it's nice to see people starting to get interested in starting dynasties up again.

Are you playing on PC or on another platform? It would help to have some other pictures other than the ones that you find on nba.com.

Re: Road to Glory(Cleveland Cavaliers)09-10

Wed Sep 02, 2009 5:46 am

Perhaps you should lower the game tempo, reduce FG/3PT sliders and even pump the playing time to 6-7 min. It should give you more realistic scores.
