Best Computer Generated Rookies You've Drafted

Postby dascoot on Sat Jun 20, 2009 4:39 pm

I know many of you don't like the computer generated rookies but I would like to know who is the best computer Generated Rookie or Rookies that you've ever drafted here are a couple of mine

NBA Live 2008- DeMarco Stevensen- PG- plays alot like either Chris Paul or Jason Kidd. I would even at times compare him to the early years of Gary Payton

Aidan Lewis- SG- actually i got the number one pick by trading a PG the year after I drafted named Crawford Costa who was a cancer to my team and I would compare him to Marbury.

NBA Live 2007- Wallace Keane- PG- this is when I was Minnesota and he had a couple of triple double games and one game had 13 rebounds for my team.

those are the best I've ever drafted. There was one player I didn't draft but I traded for named Allen Connolly who was a SF with an allround skills and i moved him to PF and three years in a row he won defensive of the player for me.

In 2003, I just simmed for 25 years once. My rookie was probably 87 when drafted. He progressed to 99 in 4 years and went on to win 6 MVP trophies. All while simply simulating. My team won the championship twice.

Threads like this entertain me. Mostly because I find it really hard to believe that someone replying to a forum post is going to remember that in NBA Live 2007 they drafted this player named "Exact Name" who averaged "xx.x" points and blah, blah, blah.

If you really do remember, more power to you I guess.

On topic though, not remembering any exact stats, I do remember once (this was in 2k9 though, not Live) I drafted a guy near the end of the second round who was good enough to be my starting PG.

I do remember one rookie I drafted( NBA 2k8 though). He started as bench and after 4 years he progressed to 90 overall rating. I think he dominated the league in points and rebounds. I would actualy compare him to Shaq but less mass and height.

In NBA Live 2003 the CPU drafted a C, surnamed Johnson with the 6th pick. I traded for him and in 3 years he was 98 (85 when I traded for him).

I have a player when I selected surname: Myers. Looks like Wesley and he played very good, his contract up to 10M and his rating is 90... On 2-3 years, first selected 78.

NBA Live 2004 <3

Can't remember his name exactly, something like Nate Farlow?
Anyways I got him by trading a for a draft pick, and ended up picking him 3rd overall.
His rating wasn't great something like 74 or 75 overall, but he was 7'6 and had excellent potential.
Also I was the Lakers, so my starting lineup was something like:
C- Farlow
PF - Shaq
SF- Karl Malone
SG - Kobe
PG - Gary Payton

Awh, I miss NBA Live 2004.

my best yet had a rookie overall of 89. around four years ago on the same dynasty, i drafted a player with an overall of 88. i had traded the 89 for a 93 and the 88 for a 98. pretty good dynasty.

I controlled the New York Knicks for about 5 years in my Dynasty, had 5 great season but never won a Championship, my team was like Detroit, always getting killed at the ECF by Cleveland . ( 25% Play - 75% Sim )
I got frustrated and when the Season ends Phoenix offered me a contract, well I accepted it . Phoenix had the worst record in my Dynasty ( 20-62 ), fortunately I got the 1st Overall Pick . During Draft Day my team doesn't have any PF's, just C's, Oden, Noah and the Indiana dude ( the 7'2" guy ? ), forgot his name. then comes Draft Day. Draft Pool was very deep, draft status was Very Strong, I drafted a guy named Evander Kearley, from Havana Cuba (2012-2013), what caught my eye was his defensive capabilities and his athleticism.

Stealing was 78.
Blocking was 82.
Defensive Awareness was 73.
Speed was 65.
Quickness was 71.
Hardiness was 92 !
Stamina was 79 ( My Dynasty Fatigue Rating was Low, so this is impressive )
Ins. Scoring was 89.
Dunking was 83.
Jump was 67.
Strength was 65.
( More like a Lamar Odom type of guy )
That is his upsides .

2pt FG was fine - 60
3pt FG was good enough for a PF - 43
( Good for 20 footers .)
Offensive Awareness was 58.
Free Throw was 78.
( Yeah, he really was like a Lamar Odom type of guy. )

He has an 88 rating, the best I drafted so far.

In o6, I was able to get the 2nd draft pick after my first season. I was scouting this PF (I forgot the name) with excellent potential. On draft day luckily, the computer passed on this player (maybe the team drafting first was crowded at the 4), so I was able to pick this 20 year old power forward. He started with an overall rating of 91, best among players in my current roster. Reminded me of KG. He became my franchise player and retired with my team. Since then, I have never seen a player drafted with a rating of 90+.

In nba live 08.the rookie I scouted on focused on was drafted by another team.so i just picked a random rookie. He was a SF name Rufus Duran(currently with my roster now)i didnt use him but when lebron wnet down with an injury i discvered he had a highflyer skill.he was rated 79 then.after 5 years(present)he is now rated 94.I get my assistants to work on him. offense, defense and athletics.he is currently my starting SF after Lebron retired.he plays a lot like lebron.before he couldnt shoot threes but now i trained him and give me threes automatically when he is open.

It is pretty rare in NBA Live, as most players are undersized. (6'2 SG-s; 6-7 PF-s)
But not in real life. (Magic was even 6'9)
