Now the big trade involved Sending kobe bryant in a 2 for 3 deal to detroit for rasheed wallace, the draft is strong this year and i wanted to have as many 1st round picks as possible. I have 4 1st round draft picks. Martel webster is our new leader, I'm training him to be the next kobe bryant, The season is almost over and we're 29-20. We're in need of a point gaurd, shooting gaurd, small forward and a center. The lakers are rebuilding, eventually we'll trade some more old players like radmonovic, because we want a completely young team. We're currently on an east coast road trip and have won 3 out of 5 games. We have been scouting some good future rookies, howie knight who's good at free throw shooting, inside scoring and offensive and defensive rebounding. He's a 6'6 20 year old small forward in the top 20. We're also scount a point gaurd named shawn anderson, a 5'11 21 year old stud with good potential. He has a good mid range and three point shot, he's very good at shooting free throws, he can pass and has good awareness on offense. We really hope to get this player especially since he's a late first rounder, i need someone who i can turn into a playmaker. I'm also scouting a center named benjamin macnamara, he's a 6'11 22 year old with good potential, a kwame brown type player except this guy is very good at blocking, and i mean very good! He struggles at rebounding but has good awareness on defense, and is kind of quick for a big man, i'm scouting other players as well but these are the main two players that i want especially the point gaurd. We should have an early draft pick in the top 20 since we have indiana's 1st round pick and they're struggling. We're probably draft that point gaurd first since that's the position where we need help the most. Free agents this year are Jimmy jackson, ruben patterson and chris mihm, we won't resign these players and that'll be $16 million in freed cap space! More updates coming shortly.

Well, actually that was what was involved, i also got a 1st round pick and its a strong draft. So therefore i got detroit's 1st round pick, plush i may trade rasheed.

2007-2008 Lakers

Gm:We plan on making it to the western conference finals this year, last years first round elimination was a huge dissapoinment, i guess that's what happens when you trade your franchise player. But we wanted to go young and get plenty of draft picks to build for the future,we added a couple of players who can spread the defense in mike dunleavy who will be our starting small forward and troy murphy who will be the back up to lamar ordom. We have two power forwards who can spread the defense. We'll be a run and gun team as always but especially this year with our young gaurds, we have two rookie point gaurds and our starting shooting gaurd is a rookie as well, and like i said lasty year our leader is martel webster. We'll use our assistants to on him to make sure he'll be the next kobe bryant offensively. We're going to focus our assistants on making our gaurds into good shooters, small forwards into good atheletic defenders and our big men into inside scoring, shot block, and rebounding studs. Our big man coach will do that. And we'll use our defensive coach on our small forwards and sometimes on martell webster because he needs a lot of work defensively. I want this team to win 50 games, so along with smart training and possible trades i know this team can win 50, i hated loosing kobe last year but at least we got a 1st round draft pick out of it as well as a player or two, one of which we didn't resign.

It's the beggining of the 2007-2008 regular season for the lakers, the draft is average so we'll probably just scout one or two players this year. we're scouting a 6'0 point gaurd with good potential in the late 1st round. Strengths, shooting free throws, weaknesses, is his strength, we're not playing well since our first game. We lost at chicago 94 to 73, our bench didn't step up and score enough points, and nocioni for the bulls scored 22 and hinrich scored 21, none of our players scored 20 points. After the first two weeks the lakers are a big surprise with a record of 5-2! With losses to chicago and memphis, after that chicago loss i didn't think we would be playing this well.

After four weeks the lakers are now an amazing 8-5!

Gm:Our players are playing well, i love our rookies, they have been playing well also. I don't think i need to make any more roster changes because we have good chemistry and i don't want to mess that up. As far as the draft goes we may or may not scout any more players, we might though get a big man perferabally a 7'0 center, we want our center to block and rebound, hopefully there will be some centers out there period. If we can't find a center then we'll scout a 7'0 power forward and change his primary position to center.

Webster:I love our team, we have good shooters and fast point gaurds, i love playing on teams with good point gaurds, we have that in mo williams. I enjoy running up and down the court with him. I get open for threes sometimes and he'll pass the ball to me, i know though that i need to work on my three point shooting a little more. I want to improve my defense as well, hopefully the gm will use our defensive assistant on me and teach me how to steal and i also hope to get better at my defensive awareness.

Odom:Man oh man, we have such great chemistry, i hope we keep up the good work and make the playoffs this year, even without my good friend kobe. I sure do miss him but, maybe martell webster will improve and be the next kobe bryant, he's already a pretty good shooter. As a whole though, i think our team needs to improve its defense, we have assistants that can teach us to do that. I love playing with zydrunas ilgauskas, we have similar playing styles. We can both shoot the deep ball, although big z is the better blocker, rebounder and inside scorer. I wish i can block like he can, maybe the gm will use our big man coach on me and train me in defense, so i'll be a better block, i want to be a better defender.

M.Williams:Wow! I love the sunshine and warm weather of california, it beats playing for a cold weather team. This team is a fast pace offense, and i love the fact of being on a team with a triangle offense. We have plenty of players like me on this squad, players who can shoot threes, odom, murphy, dunleavy and webster. If anyone of those guys gets double teamed, then we can dish the ball to on of the other 4 or 5 players. Plus we have good inside scoring big men like odom, biedrins and ilgauskas, ooooooooh yes i love this team!
