Rookie Holiday comes to Detroit

The UCLA Rookie,Jrue Holiday who was selected by the Sixers didn't play one game for them.He changes directions and he will play in the Detroit Pistons.Jrue involved in a trade which sends two of five SFs of Pistons(Jerebko and Sharpe) to the Sixers.
"We had a lot of players on this positions and we were in need of good bench point guard to give rest of Stuckey.I think Jrue will develop in one of the best PGs in the league. He is very quick and that's what i like in him." said Coach Curry.
Holiday told the press that he's happy about going to Detroit. He thinks he can learn a lot from the players here and so on..

Ridiculous trade for the Sixers. Hopefully this will go better than your last one, it'll be interesting to see how Gordon-Villanueva will manage in Detroit. I suggest you to trade Hamilton away.

You misspelled Maxiell. That trade grade for you : A+, for the Sixers : F.

I'm looking forward to see how you manage Hamilton's and Gordon's minutes. What happened to Allen Iverson?

Roy Hibbert played the game of his career to help Pacers

Image

Pacers - Ford - Dunleavy - Granger - Murphy - Hibbert

Pistons - Stuckey - Hamilton - Prince - Villanueva - Maxiell

Detroit,Michigan

At the beginning of the game all seems like the Pistons are going to easy win it.They made a 12 - 0 scoring run in the first minutes. Then the Pacers woke up and they started scoring point after point.Hamilton and Prince handle them and at the end of the first it was 24 to 21 - Detroit. In the 4th minute of the quarter Jason Maxiell had injured,he twisted his ankle and he didn't play more in the game. He'll be ready for the next games. His place was taken by Fabricio Oberto who only scored 2 points but 9 rebounds and 7 assists.
In the second quarter was surprisingly how Travis Diener fits in this Pacers team,he scored 12 points in this quarter and TJ Ford was sitted down at the bench.Indiana were playing nice basketball and no one couldn't stop Diener and Hibbert.Pacers took it,29 to 25 and they had 1-point lead at the half.
After the halftime Detroit tried to do something to stop Hibbert but he played every ball he gets. The Pistons newcomer Ben Gordon couldn't fit good in this first game as he scored only 9 points(3-9).In this 3rd quarter Rip Hamilton made the play of the day(up in the gif). After a long attack of the Pistons,he get the ball and with 2 seconds left he shot it to score a 3 pointer and he was fouled by Dunleavy.
The 4th quarter started really good for the Pacers and minute and a half before the end they had a 11 point lead(100 - 91).Then it came the time of Hamilton. He scored a three pointer to make it 100 to 94.Then great defense by Stuckey he stole the ball from Diener and gave it to Richard who score another trey. The people all stand up to see what will happen.Troy Murphy get the ball and shoot it but..block by Tayshaun Prince.Michael Curry gets timeout with 26 seconds left in the quarter. After Hamilton getting the ball he was double teamed and he gave it to Prince who scored another three-pointer to tied it with 13 seconds on the clock(100 - 100).
Hibbert time babyyyy..he was the best in the game.He catch it and dunk it on the head of Oberto. There were 2.4 seconds.Hamilton getting the ball, shoots and missing..102 to 100,Pacers won it.
Roy Hibbert was really unstoppable as he managed to have 39 points,16 rebounds,3 blocks and 2 steals.Diener had a double double,23 points,2 rebounds and 11 assists. He scored 5 3-pointers.The star of the team,Danny Granger scored only 8 points.
Rip Hamilton added 31 points for the Pistons but that was not enough.Rodney Stuckey and Tayshaun Prince had both 17 points as Stuckey 3 rebounds,8 assists and 3 steals. As we said,Gordon had 9 points, same as Villanueva who added 9 rebounds.

Around The NBA

Rubio made a nice NBA Debut with 16 points,4 rebounds,8 assists as Wolves made a blowout against the Kings(128 - 86)
In the City of Angels,Clippers made a nice job beating the Champs - 103 : 99.
Lebron's 41 points,7 rebounds,8 assists not enough for the Cavs.Boston 148 - 127 Cleveland

Strong second half gave Pistons the win

Image

Wizards - Arenas - Foye - Butler - Jamison - Haywood
Pistons - Stuckey - Hamilton - Prince - Villanueva - Maxiell

Detroit,Michigan

Wizards - Pistons was one very fun game to watch. The both sides played really nice basketball,it was run and gun type of play.In the first quarter Washington were the better team and they had the lead after some nice plays by Foye and Jamison.Antawn scored 12 of the 23 points of his team.In the second Tayshaun Prince take the game in his hands and scored 2 three pointers(including a buzzer-beater at the end of q.) to give the Pistons some kind of power.
In the second half all the players start playing like Michael Curry wants.Charlie V was scoring and rebounding well.Rodney Stuckey was also doing his job with some nice passes and steals.Stuckey and Arenas had some kind of battle between them..after Rodney steals it,the it was Arenas time to play nice defence and score.Despite his injury,Jason Maxiell learn veteran Haywood how to play.He scored 16 points and 6 rebounds while Haywood scored only 3 points.
At the end of the game the Wizards tried to do something, they were playing full court press and more agressive but that didn't help.Pistons won it 112 - 102
Charlie Villanueva won the Jordan Brand player of the game award with his 23 points and 10 rebounds.Tayshaun Prince added 22 points + 4 rebounds,3 assists and 4 blocks.Richard Hamilton scored only 16 points which is not so good for him but he scored them in very important moments.Rodney Stuckey also played a good game with 10 points,5 rebounds,12 assists and 4 steals.
For the Wizards, their superstar Gilbert Arenas had 23 points and 15 assists.Caron Butler added 24.Randy Foye and Jamison had both 20.

Around the NBA

Shaq,Lebron...Iverson signs a 1year contract with the Cavs.
Al Jefferson will miss 4-6 weeks because of broken wrist.
Chris Paul,Lebron James named players of the week
