Is Golden State Looking For A Big Man?

This past few days there were certain rumors involving the Warriors. It is believed that they are looking for a quality big man. That means players can start worrying for their place in the team. Some say Monta Ellis is heading the exit way, others say that Stephen Jackson is. Rumors are saying an Eastern conference All-star is coming to Golden State.

Vince Carter Unhappy

Vinsanity is said to be unhappy, and is demanding the Nets front desk to give him some talent. "Harris is a great player, but it's just me and him man, we need a good player". The super clutch player has already demanded a trade when he was in Toronto, but the Raptors traded him instead of keeping him. Just imagine the Calderon/Carter/Bosh trio.

Garnett Wants Another Ring

Now that the former MVP is healthy, the C's are a certain title contender. Last season's injury ended Garnett's season, and it ruined Boston's championship chances. If the big 3 stays healthy this year, we might be looking at a finals rematch. He also stated that he is pleased to have his former team mate, Stephon Marbury, back on his team.

Duncan Retiring?

Sources are saying that possibly the greatest Power Forward of all-time will retire after this year. "I won it all, and the west is just too strong for us"-Duncan said at a preseason conference. If he does retire, we wish him the best in the upcoming season. Mr. Fundamental already won 2 MVP's, 4 championships, was selected 12 times into All-NBA teams and 12 Defensive teams

Jamison Back To Being A Warrior

Guess who's back? Antawn Jamison is! The former Warrior will be looking to revive his career after a disappointing year in the jersey of Wahington. "I am so happy to be back in Golden State, I promise that we will make the playoffs this year. This is a very talented team with a great coach"-Jamison was pretty optimistic. Golden State will send Stephen Jackson and Ronny Turiaf in exchange for Antawn Jamison and Oleksiy Pecherov. Pecherov will probably be waived immediately, and now that Jamison is back, the starting 5 looks scary. Ellis, Crawford, Maggette, Jamison and Biedrins with Barnes, Azubuike, Randolph and Morrow on the bench. "Now we will be chasing home court advantage for the playoffs"-Crawford said.

Jamison spent his first 5 seasons playing for the Warriors. We all remember he was traded on draft day for his best friend, Vince Carter. Although Carter was more spectacular and more clutch, Jamison turned out to be a more complete player. He might be an All-star again this season.

His first winning season was in Dallas, where he won the Sixth man of the year award. Then he was traded to the Wizards in exchange for Stackhouse, Laetner and Harris. His name was accidentally printed as Antawn instead of Antwan on his birth certificate. However, his family decided to keep the misspelling as they felt it would be more distinctive. His first name is still pronounced as though it were spelled Antwan or Antoine.

Jamison will make his debut tomorrow against the Lakers.

Warriors Shown They Can Handle The Best

November 2nd, 2008

Image
POINTS: Pau Gasol (32)
REBOUNDS: Andrew Bynum (12*)
ASSISTS: Kobe Bryant (7)

Image
POINTS: Jammal Crawford (38*)
REBOUNDS: Andres Biedrins (11)
ASSISTS: Monta Ellis (12*)

(*) - Game high

GOLDEN STATE (AP) -- Antawn Jamison couldn't play due to Jackson's strong will to play his last game as a Warrior. Things didn't go well for him, as he only scored 1 point, but things were great for the Warriors, they sunk the Lakers and won their first game of the season with the final score being 105-102.

No, there wasn't a game winner, a possible game tier or anything, but there was a huge dunk by Corey Maggette over Ariza when the score was 95-94 for the Lakers (Picture shown above) Maggette dunked right over him and was fouled. He made the free throw. There was only 1:35 left. Golden State then went on a 9-0 run, making the score 105-95.

Jamaal Crawford had an outstanding game as he racked up 38 points, all of them while Kobe was guarding him. He was 14/22 from the field, and allowed Kobe to score only 17 points (5/18 FG). He was hot from beyond the arc, as he went 4/7. "I am really impressed with the way Jamaal played tonight. He managed to score 38 on me, but the next time we play, it's going to be a whole other game"-Kobe stated.

Ellis accepted his role as an ego feeder. He became a Kidd type of player, as 12 assists were on his name. Monta also had 4 steals and 15 points. He fitted in perfectly in the new role Nelson gave him. "I could not be more happier with Monta, unless of course he didn't drop 50 points on the Lakers. But I can tell you he is capable of doing that"-Don Nelson said. However, there were certain error's between his and Biedrin's communication. But Jamison is here, and he will fit well in the Run & Gun / Pick & Roll style of play.

Other players that scored in double digits for the Warriors were: Maggette (14), Randolph (14) and Azubuike (10). Biedrins also had a decent night on the boards as he collected 11 of them.

If Kobe can't do it, Pau Gasol can. The Spaniard scored 32 points, including a monster dunk right on top of Randolph. Pau also had 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Bynum was great on the boards (12), and Ariza on defense (2stl), well except that Corey Maggette dunk, but it wasn't his fault. At the time Odom (7pts) was guarding Maggette, in a Pick & Roll play Corey was left wide open on the free-throw line, Ariza tried to take the charge, bur he was too late.

NOTES: Stephen Jackson, who played is last game as a Warrior, scored only 1 point in 10 minutes spent on the floor.....Anthony Morrow didn't spend a minute on the floor, but his guard-mate Belinelli didn't go much better, with 1 minute spent on the floor.....Jamison will make his debut against the Clippers

BEHIND THE SCENES

- - -

It was game day. The Warriors were hosting the Clippers, and everything seemed to be great. Jamison was getting along great with the rest of the team, and so was Pecherov, as he is actually a pretty funny guy. But there was one player that didn't like Jamison coming back to Oakland. Jamal Crawford. Crawford was concerned for his No.1 offensive option status. He has become a real good friend with the Warriors starting guard, Monta Ellis. Monta was a great person, but he was quite amendable, so Crawford thought he can get Ellis on his side. Don Nelson has noticed Jamaal was nervous at every practice, so he once said to him: "You have nothing to worry about Jamal, at this point you are still our Go-To guy, and the only player that can take that away from you is Monta, and he eventually will as he continue to improve". Jamal didn't believe Nelson's words so he decided to call a close friend of his, Gary Payton.

"Excuse me, could you unlock the locker room for me"-Jamal asked the janitor. "Sure, just a sec"-the janitor then reached for his keys and opened the door. Jamaal went in. He went to his locker, grabbed his Cellphone and dialed Payton's number...the phone was ringing, but nobody answered. He kept trying and trying, but to no avail. "Jamal, the coach is calling you to join us"-Morrow ran to Crawford. "Just tell him I'm busy"-He answered. Morrow shook his head and went back to the court. Jamal was starting to get angry. He felt like nobody wants him on this team anymore, as he was a very fragile soul. When he was a kid he had no real friends, and was always left alone with a basketball. In New York he made a good friend in Nate Robinson, but he became famous and completely forgot about Jamal. "I'm gonna show them who's team this is"-Jamal said as he raced down the hallway and stepped on the training court. "Where have you been Jamal, quickly get in there, we have game tonight"-the coach said. He started the next play, and quickly got in the zone. "Pass the ball for Christ's sake"-Maggette was frustrated with so many taken shots on Jamal's name. "Why when I can score"-Jamal mumbled, but nobody heard him...

After practice ended, he went to his locker and notice that he received a message on his cell. It was from Payton. "Yo kid I am busy lately, nothing to worry about, I'll get back to you in a couple of weeks"-as Jamal read the message he realized he was loosing another friend. "I don't need friends, Kobe didn't have any and look where he is now"- he thought. But the thing he didn't realize is that Kobe had a family, Crawford will never have one if he continues to be as paranoid as he is now. "yo man, what you looking at, beauty isn't transitional"-Azubuike joked as Jamal mind wasn't in that locker room, but was far far away. He quickly picked up his stuff and went home. "Hey man I was just joking"-Azubuike yelled as he saw Jamal exiting the building. As Jamal got home, he took some pills to relax his nerves. "I need a friend" -he said as lied on the sofa and turned on the TV. He eventually fell asleep. Then, later on, the phone rang. Jamal looked at the display and saw coach Nelson was calling him. he turned off the TV and answered the call. "Hello, Crawford speaking"-he tried to sound normal. "Hi there Jamal, I realized you was a little bit frustrated this morning on practice, whatever it is, you just gotta let it go, we have a game in about 3 hours, straighten up and get your 20+ points per game ass here"-Jamal didn't really pay attention to what coach was saying, but he understood the get your ass here and straighten up parts. "Yes sir"-he calmly answered and hung up.

About a half an hour later, Jamal was already changing into his workout clothes. Then Azubuike said something. "Yo man, sorry bout that thing earlier today, I was just joking"-Crawford just looked at him, and said nothing. He just continued to tie his shoe. "Yo man don't ignore me, I said I'm sorry"-Azubuike said louder. Jamal got up and just walked pass Azubuike to the teams gym. "Fuck you, you arrogant dick"- Azubuike yelled as loud as he could. Jamal put his earphones in his ears, played some music and started to lift weights. "I don't want to get close to him, I'll get traded again"- Jamal said to himself, the wound from being traded from his former best friend, Nate Robinson, was still fresh. Then he went on to shoot some jumpers and thought-"This is going to be a good night."

Crawford Leads Warriors To A Win

November 4th, 2008

GOLDEN STATE (AP) -- The Warriors are now 2-0, as Jamal Crawford led the in this win over the young and talented Blazers. Crawford had a game high 38 points. He scored 38 for the second straight time, but this time he also knocked 6 trey's. "I had a feeling this is going to be a good night, and it was. back to back 38 points, plus we got the win..."

Monta Ellis notched his second straight double-double, as he scored 22 points, and dished 11 assists. However, Ellis was really awful at the charity stripe. 2/8 is bad for a Shaq-like shooter, but for Ellis, it is just horrible. "Man that airball really get me going, I bellieve I scored round 8 straight points after I airballed that free-throw"-Ellis said, and he was correct. He did score 8 straight points, but he wasn't selfish. 11 assists say that. The bench was awful today. They just scored 10 points, as the Blazers bench scored 26.

Jamison finally made his "debut" as a Warrior, and he didn't disappoint. The forward scored 12 points, and pulled down 7 boards. If he continues to adapt like this, this could be a 20/10 season for him.

Other players in double digits were: Corey Maggette (15) and Andres Biedrins (17)

Brandon Roy was the best player at Portland's side. he racked up 29 points, and was outstanding from the field, shooting 13/18. He later admitted Crawford outplayed him. "Hands down for Jamal, he dropped 38 on me, despite my good defense"-but Roy wasn't the only good Blazer. The young rising superstar LaMarcus Aldridge pulled down a game high 15 rebounds, and scored the same amount of points. He almost made Jamison's debut a nightmare. "I was just lucky my shots went in over his hand"-Jamison stated.

Other players in double digits were: Oden (13), Outlaw (15) and Bayless (13).

Crawford Hits The Game Winner

November 9th, 2008

UTAH (AP) -- Jamal Crawford hit the game winner with1.8 seconds left after an great move on Ronnie Brewer to win the game 95-93. This is the third straight win for the Warriors as they are looking to cause some serious mayhem on the West.

Crawford had a good ball game as he racked up 25 points. He was struggling in the first half though, as he only scored 5 points. He also had 7 assists and 3 steals. "When he hit that game winner, I was so embarrassed, when he did that crossover on me, I almost fell on my but"-Ronnie Brewer said. Charles Barkley compared this game winner to MJ's one when he pushed his defender. "It was the same as MJ's on the Jazz, but only Jamal didn't push Ronnie"

Corey Maggette had another good game as he scored 18 points and had 8 rebounds. Corey is great on the boards this season, as he leads the team in that category. He has his strength and his vertical to thank for. But an awful shooting effort (5/16) will remind us that he isn't nowhere near being a No.1 offensive option in a good team. Biedrins had 12 points, but only had 5 boards. It just wasn't his night. The point guard battle was clearly won by Deron Williams. He scored 27 points and had 6 assists, and on the other side Monta Ellis had 10 points and 2 assists.

Williams had some help in Carlos Boozer. The big man scored 18 points and had 8 boards. "Deron is our best player, but the rest of the team is good too, we were just a bit unlucky tonight"-said Boozer.

Both teams hit 34 field goal attempts, but Golden State did it in 3 less shots. Utah out rebounded the Warriors by 10, so they were really unlucky to lose. The next game is against the Dallas Mavericks, so there won't be room for errors, as Nowitzki and Co. are known for punishing mistakes.

It couldn't be 1.8 left, because the ball is still in Crawford's hands with 1.8 left.
