The Rise of a Star
Kyle Gomez was a high school star that was known to be a very explosive player. He thought he was ready for the pros when he entered the draft. On draft day, David Stern said name after name and in the end the 17 year old was disappointed because he thought he was going to be a late first round pick and was looking forward to play in Texas (His hometown). Draft websites said that the 5'10 point guard did not have what it take to be in the NBA because of his skinny body, short height, and extremely high turnovers. Kyle Gomez was determined to be in the NBA, so he went to USC and continued his basketball career and lowered his TOPG greatly. His smaller body hurt him a lot playing against seven footers in the NCAA. He played along side O.J Mayo, and they were a good match. He became a more pass first point guard, compared to him in high school. He showed his identity as a defensive point guard that could distribute. Draft websites also saw that he didn't take reckless shots, improved his jump shot, and now was a distributor, and put him in late second round pick. He was still not happy, and worked harder. The time the draft came, the now 19 year old Kyle Gomez still was not picked up. Morey saw stuff in him, but they could not sign him since they already had 15 players. So Morey waited until the Grizzlies took a chance on him, and traded Joey Dorsey for him.

Right now Kyle Gomez is a prospect and is training hard every day so that he might be able to get some playing time for the Rockets in the future.

So far everything looks great man. I will be following this till the end (Y)

BTW, nice turn around from High School to College, his PPG went down but his APG went way up, as well as his SPG. Can't wait to see you get this started... (Y)

Yao is looking like Dwight Howard

TOP PERFORMERS

Image
Tracy Mcgrady - 21 Points, 2 Rebounds, 3 Assists
Yao Ming - 16 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 4 blocks
Brent Barry - 13 points from 5-on-5 shooting!
Image
Tayshaun Prince - 26 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists
Rodney Stuckey - 25 points, 2 rebounds, 12 assists
Allen Iverson - 20 points, 2 rebounds, 7 assists

Rockets - 27 | 23 | 27 | 26 | 103
Pistons - 22 | 14 | 16 | 37 | 89

Houston TX - Yao Ming has just shown why he might be possibly better than Dwight Howard. That is because he can perform just like Dwight Howard, and maybe even better. Yao Ming did not find it going well on the offensive side of the court, as he only had 16 points, but on the defensive end he was like on par or even better than Dwight Howard. Yao with his 2 steals and 4 blocks is what I can extremely surprising good, even if Yao had 3 turnovers.

The rookie that was traded from Joey Dorsey had obtained a DNP and seemed to be quite mad at not being able to play a blowout game that ended brutally in the fourth quarter where the pistons tried to make a comeback by outscoring the Rockets by 10. Rick Adelmen said, "We were dropping threes like there was no tomorrow, and we had a big lead, but we almost blew it. We still won by 14 points, but we could have won by 20 or even 30 points if we didn't lose the lead". T-MAC had an average night, posting up 21 points but missed a few rebounds and assists that we expected from the point forward styled T-MAC that we saw a few seasons ago.

Ron Artest, who was acquired in a trade with the Sacramento Kings did decently in his debut. He scored 7 points and grabbed two rebounds, not all star production. But we here at Houston believe that he is still getting to know his teammates as he use to be able to do whatever he wanted back in Sacremento since basically everyone was extremely terrible compared to him except maybe Kevin Martin on defense.

Rodney Stuckey had a great game showing that he is certainly ready to take over when Allen Iverson possibly bolts off to the free agency. The pistons will probably be quite scary in the future with this young man controlling the point.

--------------

The Next Day

Adelmen: Everyone I would like you to meet James White, he is from the D-league and we pulled him up because of his exceptional performance
Everyone in the Locker Room clapped.
Adelmen: Kyle, he will be your practice partner, you two will be working with various trainers to strengthen up your body and your game.
Kyle: Okay coach.
James: Looks like you got competition for the Guard spot, they call me James Flight White. You look like you can't even jump 20 inches.
Kyle: Oh right, like you think your going to beat me out for more playing time? Well see about that..

--------------

Tried to make it a bit more interesting. The pistons was surprising. I was able to get in the ball so easily it felt like i changed the sliders and I had to go check. Then I blew a huge lead and they started getting like all their shots, and Stuckey went on fire.

+ Nice win. But honestly, I like your first game recap a lot more. But great win over Detroit despite 20+ performances from 3 players! Lol and great win against Toronto, too... (Y)
