Chapter 1 Ring, Ring” the phone rang. Kyle Scott ran to the phone. He picked it up and eagerly said hello.
A familar voice said “This is the owner of the Knicks, you came here asking for a spot?” “Yes yes, I did” quickly answered Kyle.
His whole body was shaking, just waiting for an answer.
“Because Isiah was fired” said the Owner “We need someone who can be the Knicks GM. After looking over your extensive experence in European leagues, you were a shoein for the job, I just hope you say yes.”
“Of course” responded Kyle, almost giggling in excitement. “I’ll come as soon as I can.”
They exchanged goodbyes and Kyle hung up. He called his wife and told her all about what had happened. Later that day, his wife had come home and they started to pack up, to start their new life in New York.
When they landed, they soon went to a hotel as a temporary place. Kyle’s wife, Kate had started to unpack. Kyle left the hotel and heeded for Madison Square Garden. He went inside into the basketball court. He sat down and looked around the arena. He stood up and left the court smiling. So began The New Era.

Chapter 2
Kyle walked inside the Madison Square Garden and looked at all the players. D’Antoni came up to Kyle to introduce himself.
“Hello, my name is Mike D’Antoni, are you the new GM?” asked D’Antoni. “My name is Kyle Scott and yes, I will be the new GM of the Knicks. “Look at all of this” D’Antoni said “The mess that Isiah left us with.” “It isn’t all trash.” Said Kyle “Good old Zeke managed to get some decent players in New York.” “ I just hope you don’t crack under all the pressure with being the new GM.” Said D’Antoni in a concerned tone. “The same goes to you Mike.” Responded Kyle.
Kyle walked to the middle of the court and yelled “Listen up! I know this is the last day of training camp but today is when me and Mike are going to make the final rosters. If you want to be a starter, you better come and prove you’re at that level.
While Kyle was talking to everyone, they were wise enough to clue in that they should be quiet and listen, except for Curry and Richardson. “You guys mind being quiet and listening?” said Kyle in an intiminating voice. They snickered and turned around. “Mike’ll split you up into teams, I don’t want to hear any complaining out of any of you.”
` Kyle was watching the players’ every move. He was watching Marbury and to his surprise, Marbury seemed to be playing great. He was being agressive and watching out for his teammates. “Maybe this Knicks team isn’t so bad after all” Kyle thought to himself. He turned his focus to Curry. He wasn’t giving even the slightest bit of effort, instead he was talking with Richardson and hogging the ball when they threw it to him in the post. Kyle sighed in disappointment because Curry was the only “true” center that they had that was worth anything.
At the end of the camp, Kyle had posted the roster list in the locker room. Richardson looked at the sheet and was furious about him not being in the starting five. When he calmed down, he went to go see the GM.
When he came to Kyle’s Office, he asked him “Why ain’t I in the starting five? You put that dumbass Italian guy but you don’t put me?” “Why do you think Gallinari is a dumbass?” asked Kyle in a strict tone. “He’s European that’s why, they’re good for nothing soft dumbasses.” Said Richardson. “Listen here Richardson, you better watch that mouth of yours before I make you inactive. Both me and Mike come from Europe.” “Exactly my point” was what Richardson said before getting out of Kyle’s office.

Chapter 3
D’Antoni came into Kyle’s office. “Kyle, the Knicks are in serious trouble” said D’Antoni. “After only three games Mike?” questioned Kyle. “The Knicks have no captain, no scorer that can take over a game. Not only that, our centers are garbage, any other center can dominate them”. “You don’t think I know all this?” Kyle responded in a rude tone “The Knicks aren’t going to go anywhere with this roster. I’ve already started to look into moves, people that we might be interested in.” “I’m just warning you Kyle, the fans don’t want to see another Isiah”.
As soon as D’Antoni left the office, Kyle looked out his window towards the stadium. He knew that he had to put Richardson in any trade that he made. Randolph was probably the only person the Knicks could willingly lose to get something better. People wanted Randolph, the Knicks didn’t need him because they have Lee. Kyle was going down his list of teams to trade with. When he went down near the middle, he found it, the team that was going to help the Knicks.
Kyle dialled the number. “Hey Pat, I need to talk with you”.

You should now get the best C available in the draft, I don't see much gas left in Mourning, but I really like him

Wow some good moves to get Marion and Mourning but likethierryhenry50 said you should get the best Center in the draft .

Chapter 4
Kyle was relaxing on his desk thinking about New York’s three game winning streak. “All because of me,” said Kyle to himself. He took out a bottle of wine and poured himself some. He was the happiest man in the world at that moment. Kyle decided to walk down to the stadium, to just check up on things.
When he got downstairs, he was watching D’Antoni setting up offensive drills for them to do. Kyle sat down and watched them go to work. He noticed that Gallinari was getting sloppy. Gallinari saw Kyle watching him do his drills and for some reason, went even slower and lost the ball on several occasions. “He ain’t getting anything playing like that,” Kyle thought to himself. Marion was doing great, doing the drills exactly how he was supposed to. Lee was doing OK but he still had a lot of room to improve.
The practise basketball game had started and Kyle had started to go back to his office and look into trades. “Bang!” was all Kyle heard while he was walking away and he turned around right away. Marbury was on the floor holding his head. Kyle ran up to Marbury. “What happened to you?” Kyle asked in shock. “The ball.... hit me in the head,” Marbury said weakly. When Kyle stood up, he saw D’Antoni giving Robinson a lecture. Kyle had already known what had happened, Nate must have launched the ball at Marbury, for what reason he didn’t know but he would find out.
When Nate was finished talking with D’Antoni, Kyle had told him to meet him in his office. They both sat down and Kyle wasn’t shy to say something first. “Why’d you do it,” Kyle said in a stern voice. “Do what?” Nate asked in a sarcastic tone. “Don’t you give me that bull, I’m not in the mood,” replied Kyle with his loud voice shaking the room. “I’ll ask you again, why’d you do it?” “I did it cause I was angry that some washed up troublemaker was getting more minutes than I did.” Nate replied “You have to choose, you want me on this team or him.”
When Nate left the office, Kyle held his head in frustration. Half an hour ago he was on the top of the world, now he’s back with a tough decision to make.
