Nash heroics saves Suns in Overtime

After playing a slow game against Orlando, the Suns used speed to roll over the Jazz in overtime at the American Airlines Center.
Amar'e scored 27 for the Suns and Nash scored a clutch three pointer at the buzzer to tie the game at 94 at the end of regulation. Jannero Pargo scored 7 of his 17 in overtime.
For the Jazz wasn't enough 24 points and 15 assists from Deron Williams and 24 from Kirilenko.

Free Throws:

* Amar'e held Boozer to just 9 points
* Pargo shined again from the bench, giving the spark in overtime to take an early lead
* Shaq scored a double-double with 13 and 10
* Richardson sank 22 for the Suns

Interview with Coach Terry Porter

Image

Joe Gilmartin: Coach, Are you surprised with this great start at 7-1?
Coach Porter: More than surprised, I'm happy because we are playing at a great level and I'm very pleased with my players

JG: What are those players?
CP: Steve is the floor general and the heart of the team, Shaq and Grant are learning the way to the young ones and Amar'e is playing so unselfish and it is really working out

JG: Is planed that Amar'e has that career number of assists?
CP: He's playing like a small forward, he wants the ball and when he's being doubles he just throws the ball out and everybody is making those shots

JG: The last two victories were very different, against the Hornets the Suns scored a very low 75 points but managed to win, then they scored 113 to beat Utah... So, can we say that the Suns are becoming a hybrid of offense and defense?
CP: We are trying to play everygame, we desing what we are going to do against each team, maybe today we run and the other one we play full court defense. We will be always recognised as a high octane offense, but we will need defense if we want the ring

JG: The next game is against Denver, what is the game plan?
CP: First, we will try to stop Anthony, he can torch everybody, much ball pressure and we must caught every rebound.

Nice start. Good interview with Porter but he doesnt tell us anything unexpected, why should he when youre winning. Ah and that selfish should be unselfish I guess.

I just had a quick browse. Nice work! I like the shorter recaps. Easy/quick to read. (Y) Good work.

Longer recaps wouldn't hurt but I am still enjoying it. :D

Phoenix destroys Denver at Pepsi Center

The game was very disputed in the first quarter... Well ONLY in the first because the Suns took an early lead in the second and never looked back to punish the Nuggets at home by 103-74
Jason Richardson is proving why he was brought by the Suns leading the way with 27 points and Amar'e Stoudemire scored 24 along with 8 rebounds and 7 assists. By Denver's side J.R Smith scored 16 and Carmelo was held to 15 in 4-11 from the field.

The Suns are rolling, starting the season 8-1, losing only to the Cavs by a simple field goal.

Free Throws:

* The Chemistry of the team, which started pretty low, is rising up, and it's reflected in how the team is playing
* Grant Hill again silenced the primary scorer of the other team, limitin Carmelo Anthony to just 15 points
* Nash, who in the last games saw his scoring go down, scored 9 points but gave 9 assists.
* The Suns bench scored 35 points, being led by Barbosa with 11 and Pargo with 9
* Bo Outlaw showed some passing skills, setting a season high 4 assists
