The city of Philadelphia was there wondering what next?
A bad trade for Andrew Bynum after he missed the WHOLE season, no defence , no scoring..
Something had to be done .. Someone had to have "The Answer".. Someone had to save this team !

Larry Brown named GM & Coach of the Philadelphia 76ers !!


Larry is now in the driving seat, he has FULL control of this team now.

The Sixers finished with a record of 40-42.

The Spurs beat the Heat in the nba finals 4-2.





Jason Kidd, Grant Hill, Ray Allen and Marcus Camby all reired.

With Larry Brown sitting in the conference room at the Wells Fargo Center he called in ALL the players from last years roster, "I want you back ... I want ALL of you back ... ALL OF YOU ..."
Some players had other ideas, Larry knew this. It was a good speech but it was only designed to hit home to the key players from last years roster, it had an effect. The message was clear ... Andrew Bynum was on board with finally hitting the court in Philly.

Andrew Bynum commits to Philadelphia, signs a 5 year deal worth $56 million.

The Bobcats won the draft lottery, the Kings 2nd and the Magic 3rd ... fast forward to the 18th pick and that were Larry found his Sixers team.
Larry looked at the Sixers draft board "Garbage" he said, Brown not none for liking or playing rookies for that matter. "Get me the damm phone" he shouted !
Larry knew what he wanted, he knew what holes he needed to plug on this roster, he knew what he wanted and god damm thats what he was going to get, he got on the phone to Grizzlies GM Chris Wallace "Chris its Larry" .. I know said Wallace "Ive being expecting your call, you want a PF dont you Larry.. You want a forward from NORTH CAROLINA dont you??"
"Yes i do Chris.. Yes i do"
A deal was worked out, the Grizzlies agreed to send Ed Davis to the Sixers in exchange for the 2013 18th pick of the first round and a future 2nd round pick, the deal was done.

Davis was getting little minutes in Memphis, Larry sees upside in this young man.

With the 18th pick of the 2nd round the Sixers select Erik Green of Virginia Tech.
