Well...
If you put the cities that are mentioned in the map, and join them with lines, it gives you a big area involving five nba teams.
Cities are Toronto, Norfolk, Atlanta (Andy Hull from Manchester Orchestra was born there), Cincinnati, Davison-Michigan (home of Michael Moore).
The teams are:
Atlanta
Indiana
Detroit
Cleveland
Toronto
