Welcome to my 2K9 Association! This time round I will be using my all time favorite team, the Chicago Bulls, and try to lead them back to the level of dominance that they had in the 1990s, and recreate the Bulls Dynasty. There won't be a contest this time round though, but the Fan Voting is still there, vote monthly for the games you want to see! This time it will be 2 game recaps per month, voting starts after schedule of each month is announced in the Monthly Preview.

September 29th 2008, 3:00pm
Las Vegas, Nevada

"He did say it was somewhere around here..." thought Dennis Rodman as he walked around the place "I should have asked him why the heck he was calling me to Vegas anyways..."

"Dennis!" Rodman heard a familiar voice calling out to him, and looked over as a familiar, 6 foot 6 guy walked towards him

"Sup Mike, what ya doin callin me to this place for?" responded Rodman

"What's there to do in Vegas? of course the casinos!" said Jordan

"What, you are bored or something? i thought you had your Bobcats to manage"

"I've got Larry and Rod covering it, it's all good, we can have a few nights chillin out at the casinos, haven't seen you for ages man, you're still as wild as ever huh"

"Wild is what i am Mike, it's what i am"

"Well, lets go check into the hotel and chill out, we'll hit the casinos tonight"

"Alright"

---That Evening, in one of Las Vegas' Many Casinos---

"Hell Dennis, whats with that luck of yours, you've been winning money everywhere for 2 hours non stop!" said Jordan

"I have no idea Mike, but it's a good thing aint it?" replied Rodman as he went over to the slot machine, he popped in a coin and yanked the handle

.......A Few Seconds later.......

"HOLY SHIT DENNIS, YOU JUST WON 500 Million Dollars!!" Yelled Jordan in disbelieve as the people around them gave them their congratulations

"...."

"What is it? arn't you happy bro?" asked Jordan

"What the heck would i need 500 million dollars for? if you can give me a use for it then i'll accept the money, or else, i'll just spend it back in the casinos.."

".......You'd spend your life trying to do that Dennis, but let me think..." said Jordan, amused at Rodman's remarks "How about you do this...."

"That sounds alright, you sure about this? i aint gonna lose to you" said Rodman, smiling "Time to have my revenge on that guy and make him look bad"

"Yeah i am sure, he cost us a couple of nice rings and stuff to write about in our resume, embarrass him" replied Jordan "Come, lets go back to the hotel, we'll head back over there tomorrow morning"

"Sure Mike, i'll make him the joke of Chicago, he can go hide in his "White Socks"

So you're gonna buy the Bulls back?

And I thought Rodman was pretty rich to start off with.

Chapter 1: The Worm is Back

October 1st 2008, 11:00am
United Center, Chicago IL

"Welcome to this press conference, I have something of importance to announce today" Chicago Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf said, after everybody had became quiet "It is about the future of this franchise, I have just agreed upon a deal with a very familiar person to the Chicago Bulls that this franchise, all of it, would be sold to him. Now, i am sure you all would love to know who that person is, so i introduce to you........THE WORM! DENNIS RODMAN!"

"Thanks Jerry, I'll take over from here" said Rodman, grinning "As he said, I've purchased the Bulls from him. you guys can ask me questions now"

"Mr Rodman, Adam Smith from the Chicago Tribune, Just wondering what exactly do you have in mind for the Bulls?"

Rodman laughed before answering "Have in mind? do you even need to ask? of course i am bringing the championships back here in Chicago where they belong"

Talk began to arise from the crowd, and the reporter asked again.. "What's going to become of the current management staff?"

"There will be some changes, but most of them will stay" answered Rodman "but man, do you have anymore of these very obvious questions? you bore me"

"Just one...what will become of Mr Jerry Reinsdorf here? is he staying in the organization?" upon hearing this Reinsdorf, who was speaking into his mobile phone in the corner, turned and listened

"Ah yes, he said something about wanting to stay in the Bulls organization, we have a position for him" said Rodman, Reinsdorf sighed in relief and turned back to his phone before.. "However, we have a new announcement to make"

"Jerry Reinsdorf?" began Rodman

"Yes? what is it Dennis?" answered Reinsdorf, puzzled

"You're Fired" said Rodman, using Donald Trump's famous hand sign, in front of a bemused audience and a shocked Reinsdorf

"Well, thats that, the main announcement...what was it.. oh yes, I am pleased to announce that I'll become the General Manager of this team as well, and I've successfully hired Scottie to be my assistant GM, John has accepted another position within the Organization, he'll be a special adviser of the basketball management team, which is me and Scottie, Thank you for your time" finished Rodman, grinning as he walked away into the building, heading towards his office

Bulls Front Office

"Scottie! I wasn't expecting you until tomorrow!"

"i know, my flight was early, so here i am" answered Pippen "so sup? we are going to change this team around no?"

"Always ready for work huh? well, as we've discussed, you want that guy huh?" said Rodman

"Yes, I think he can play a role similar to mine in helping the team achieve victory" answered Pippen "But didn't you said you have a player that you'd like to develop? who is it?"

"Ah yes...here, this is his bio, what do you think?" said Rodman, handing Scottie a sheet of paper that had been sitting on his desk

"I see, he can definitely become something like you, very impressive Dennis, i never knew you have a knack at scouting talent" answered Pippen "well, shall we do it then?"

"i don't see why not, you go get the guy you want, i'll get the guy i want, only untouchables on this team are Rose and Gordon, go for it" said Rodman

"Alright boss, i'll let you know when i'm done" said Pippen as he walked out of Rodman's office towards his own

"Good" answered Rodman, reaching for the phone, and feeling good about finally being able to do something he wants to do....that is, building for a championship

Dennis Rodman Acquires Bulls Ownership
Dennis Rodman, the former Chicago Bull that helped the Bulls to their second 3-peat with his incredible rebounding skills, has purchased the Bulls ownership from former owner Jerry Reinsdorf. It was announced by Jerry Reinsdorf and confirmed by Rodman in the press conference on October 1st in front of United Center.

In the press conference, Rodman has claimed that he will bring the championships back to Chicago.
"of course i am bringing the championships back here in Chicago where they belong" said Rodman

Rodman has also announced that he will take over as the GM for the Bulls, with current GM John Paxson and former teammate Scottie Pippen being the assistant GMs.

not fun if i spill the beans now wait and see, i'm sure it'll be a big surprise, but at the same time making sense, only hint i'll give is that currently i am targeting 2 players, one is like the new Bulls owner, and one is like the new Assistant GM of the Bulls

Rosters are up btw, it's as of current time (Real Life), i am making it so that when my season starts, it starts with the rosters of today, meaning that it is assumed trades taken place during the season in real life thus far were done in the offseason Rosters will be updated regularly

Bulls Waive Michael Ruffin

To prevent the contract from being guaranteed, the Chicago Bulls have announced today that they have waived Forward Michael Ruffin from the team.
Ruffin, a 6 foot 8 Power Forward, is now an unrestricted Free Agent, the 31 year old made no comments on being cut from the team.
The Bulls Roster now stands at 13


Chicago Announces Staff Hiring
The Chicago Bulls have announced that they have hired the support staff for new Head Coach Vinny Del Negro.
The Assistant Coach would be Lonnie Walker, who is reported to be on a one year contract. per team policy, terms of the contract were not revealed.
The NBA Scout would be Don Yau, who is reported to be on a multi-year contract. per team policy, terms of the contract were not revealed.
The Prospect Scout would be Ron Finley, who is reported to be on a multi-year contract. per team policy, terms of the contract were not revealed.
The Team Trainer would be Alvin Robinson, who is reported to be on a multi-year contract. per team policy, terms of the contract were not revealed.


Bulls in Trade Discussions?
Rumor has it that the Chicago Bulls GM Dennis Rodman and Assistant GM Scottie Pippen has been in a fury of trade discussions with various teams around the league, some names that have been leaked out were players such as Larry Hughes, Luol Deng, Kirk Hinrich, and Joakim Noah. Reports are not sure but it is believed that by the end of training camp and when preseason comes, at least 1 or 2 moves would be made by Dennis Rodman and co.

Chicago makes Move, Acquires Williams from Nets

The Chicago Bulls have announced that they have acquired Sean Williams from the New Jersey Nets for Forward Cedric Simmons and a 2010 Second round pick.
The Second Year Williams is a 6'10, 235 pound Forward/Center from Boston College, a highly athletic shot blocker, and was nicknamed "Le Freak Elastique" by Nets coach Lawrence Frank. Williams averaged 5.6ppg, 4.4rpg, and 1.5bpg in 73 games while playing an average of 17.3 minutes in his rookie season for the Nets, who selected Williams with the 17th pick in last year's draft.
"We are very excited to add a player with the athletic ability as great as anybody has in this league in Sean, he has a ton of potential, i personally see him as a bigger version of myself, to be honest, we hope he would develop well and make an impact in the team." said Team Owner/General Manager of the Bulls Dennis Rodman "I look forward to personally train him into a defensive beast like i was during my career."

Chicago Bulls Acquires Lamar Odom From LA in Three Team Trade

Just hours after Chicago has announced the trade for young prospect Sean Williams, they have announced yet another trade, this time, it is a three team blockbuster that involves Chicago adding versatile Forward Lamar Odom for guard Larry Hughes, Forward Andres Nocioni, and a 2009 2nd round pick. to make the deal work under the salary cap rules, the Lakers are sending Forward Vladimir Radmanovic to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for former All Star Guard Steve Francis and a 2010 2nd round pick.
The Deal is as follows

"We are glad to be able to add a player that has such a great skill set in Lamar, it's tough to be giving up on Larry and Andres, and we wish them the best of luck in their future careers, but we are really happy to be able to add to our roster, a player that can play virtually any position on the floor at 6'10", he's a point forward like i was, and to top it off, he's a lefty. We are lucky to be able to have him on our roster." said Assistant GM Scottie Pippen, who was responsible in making this deal.

Odom would be changing his familiar #7 to his Olympic number #14 due to Bulls Guard Ben Gordon having the same number.

Chicago Signs Korean Ha Seung-Jin

The Chicago Bulls have announced today that they have successfully signed South Korean native Ha Seung-Jin to a 1 year minimum deal.
This deal is strictly to fill up the roster of the Bulls to 13, as required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement, however, Ha might see some time on the floor due to the Bulls' need of Bigs down low and Ha's huge body at 7 ft 3 in, 305 lb, but that's only if he could work his way out of the Inactive Rotation.

For the 2008/09 Preseason, due to the new ownership of the team and management factors, the league has granted the team to void the original preseason schedule and have one game played instead of the original 8.
After much discussion, it has been decided that the match up would be against Central Division Rival Team Detroit Pistons, on October 20th 2008, 8:00pm EST in United Center, Chicago IL

Haha, tempting idea, but Chicago already has a "Jordan", in a way....that guy's name is Ben Gordon, not as tall, not as good dunking, but can score just as well.

Nice trade. Realistic in a way since Odom has always been seen as the "troublemaker" when Bynum returns etc.
Nice job acquiring Sean Williams. I hope he will bring more to the table than he does in real life where he is really struggling.

thanks hova-, yeah Odom (in the offseason) was making comments about not wanting to be a sixth man..etc etc, so this is quite realistic
as for Sean Williams, in real life he isnt really struggling...Lawrence Frank just cant fit him into the rotation, he needs playing time so they sent him to D-League...he's a monster there..blocking like crazy...

New Look Bulls Blows out Pistons in Preseason Showdown

The Chicago Bulls, coming off a disappointing season, had made a variety of adjustments, all starting at the draft lottery when they lucked out and got the number 1 overall pick, which they used to draft a Chicago Native point guard Derrick Rose, they had a new Head Coach, completely new coaching staff, and even a new Owner, General Managers and Assistant GMs were new, there was also the fury of trades that brought Sean Williams and Lamar Odom to Chicago, and the signing of the South Korean Ha Seung-Jin to fill out the roster.

It seems like all the changes and moves they made had paid off.

Of course, it's just a preseason game, so no body really cares about it, and it does not count for anything, but regardless of whether it counts or not, this landslide victory by the Chicago Bulls over the reigning central division champions Detroit Pistons, there old rivals, has to be some sort of a boost to the Bulls team.
"It's great, last year was a real disappointing year, we missed the playoffs, and the team was revamped, so to be able to get such a big win here, at home, regardless of the fact that it was just a preseason game or not, it's a great feeling we have right now." said Ben Gordon after the game, Gordon had a game high 28 points and was named the Jordan Player of the Game.

Lamar Odom, Derrick Rose, and Sean Williams all made their Bulls debut today, although their real debut comes a few days later in their first regular season game against Milwaukee, the 3 were playing good in this preseason debut. Odom had 23 points, alongside 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in 25 minutes of play, while Derrick Rose had 20 points, 9 assists, and 3 rebounds in 23 minutes of play. Sean Williams was no less impressive as these two, but in a different way, he had 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 block, and 4 steals in just 9 minutes of play, and established himself as one of the better defensive players on the floor in his limited minutes.

For the Pistons, they were led by Rasheed Wallace, who had 23 points and 6 rebounds in the game, and Rip Hamilton, who had an all round performance of 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and a game high 5 steals; but it was not enough, as they turned the ball over 20 times and shot a miserable 7% from 3 point range as opposed to the Bulls' 47%, and only got to the line 4 times in the entire 40 minutes.
