With news surrounding Jermaine O'Neil's feelings about staying in Indiana, Jim O'Brien knew he had to do something fast. He set up multiple trades, but unfortunately no one bit. Then, almost miraculously, two teams offered players that would put a smile on Jermaine's face. Memphis and Utah. They both had certain needs at positions and a certain wish to lower their salary caps. Well, in an almost "meant to be" moment, the Grizzlies offered to trade Darko Milicic for Jeff Foster. Accepted! On Utah's side of the ball, they offered to trade Ronnie Brewer for Indiana's point guard, Travis Diener. Accepted! These, of course, aren't big names yet, but they ARE All-Star potential and with the combination of Darko, Jermaine and Danny... we could very much have one of the most exciting frontlines in the league today!![]()

Today it was announced that Kareem Rush and Flip Murray will be released into free agency due to salary cap issues. It appears that Indiana can not afford to keep the two being that they are behind in the the teams cap by -$11.91M. Rush and Murray understood the reasons and the releasing took place under good intentions.![]()

It is speculated that the Indiana Pacers are currently setting their eyes on upgrading their point guard position. With the trade of Travis Diener for Ronnie Brewer, that leaves only Jamaal Tinsley at the point. I don't think the Pacers have Tinsley pegged as their leader for the long run. So look for them to snag a point guard with their first round pick. Suggestions as to who would be Jon Fajardo out of CAL State University. The 6'2" 195 pounder averaged 15.5 ppg, 3.5 rpg and 11.3 apg. The Pacers will need a distributor to give it to their players, whom by the way, are excellent shooters. If you throw in Granger, Brewer, O'Neil, Dunleavy, Murphy, Daniels, and Williams with Fajardo's distributing skills... then you pretty much have a dangerous team on your hands. All in all, if Fajardo slips through, look for the Pacers to get him with no hesitation.
College Statistics:
15.5 Points Per Game | 3.5 Rebounds Per Game | 11.3 Assists Per Game | 0.5 Blocks Per Game | 2.3 Steals Per Game

With the #5 pick of the NBA Draft, the Indiana Pacers select... Jon Fajardo of CAL! With that announcement, a sign of relief came across the face of Jon Fajardo. After years of working hard and excelling his game, he is going to get a chance to show off what he's accomplished. And with the Tinsley-Pacers bond beginning to slip, he can easily see himself in the starting line-up! Overall, the Pacers had an excellent draft. Not many upgrades were needed for this team given the stack of talent they already have but by snagging Jon Fajardo, the Pacers look to improve on their horrendous 30-52 record last season and will look to return to Championship Contenders.![]()

Just released from the Pacer locker room, it seems there is a bitter rivalry going on between the Pacers' point guards. Jamaal Tinsley called Jon Fajardo out on taking his starting position on the team. Word has it is that Tinsley called Fajardo, "A underrated rookie." This then caused Fajardo to respond and say, "That's why you're about to get your spot taken by a rookie, (profanity)!"
This then escalated to the point where the two got into each others faces and began performing acts that certainly looked like it would lead to a brawl in the locker room.
Fortunately, team captain, Jermaine O'Neil separated the two and forced each one to apologize. Neither one did.
So is this an early indication of the Pacers falling apart, even BEFORE the pre season games? According to head coach, Jim O'Brien, "I certainly hope not. We are going to need those two no matter who the starter is!"

During the Pacers preseason game against the Celtics. Small Forward Shawne Williams suffered a strained quad and has been posted as out for 2 weeks. This injury will only shorten the Pacers depth at that position seeing as Mike Dunleavy is playing the shooting guard. I guess we will see how they fair without him in their next game against Cleveland.

On the bright side, I like the rest of this dynasty, and the concept of a superstar mode type dynasty. Good luck.
