I'm using the roster listed at the top of the downloads page for NBA Live 2007, the Uninjured roster with the Official EA Patch.

Much better and I love how the roster feels.

Well, thanks for following. However, I must first admit I'm not one to follow up on what player ratings should be and I have no idea how I would go about re-rating players. I know how to physically do it but I wouldn't know what to rate Hughes' steal ability, dunk, rebound, etc. I just decided to use however the roster was set which I think Andrew was the one who uploaded.

Roster is current as of April 23 according to the download.

Demetris Nichols is not a center, he's a small forward.

I saw that Demetris doesn't appear to fit the profile of a Power Forward. I can at least change that in the dynasty.

After playing my first game, it's safe to say that Tyrus will receive good minutes. The Official Patch and the Roster Update with the Fatigue Fix or Stamina Fix (whatever it's called) actually created a game full of substitutions. They seemed realistic too, not just subbing out a player on the computer team because of penalties. For once I saw realistic substitutions.

I'll have the first game up today, but it might be a little while since I'll be heading to the doctor to check out my foot.

Edit: I fixed the roster. The roster was actually correct, I just wrote the wrong position. I wondered why it looked weird when I wrote "C" for Demetris and he's only 6'8" 215-lbs. That seemed off but I didn't go back and check.

I'm considering playing it. I have the DBC Editor (or whatever it is called) but I don't know if I can change the draft list of players so that I can include Derrick Rose, Michael Beasley, Eric Gordon, Kevin Love, etc.

I've been trying to use it but I have no clue how to go about using it myself. I'm used to using editor programs like NzA's over at Football-Freaks.com for Madden but have yet to find an editor program similiar. His is user-friendly whereas the DBC Editor (or Commander) requires that you know what each column in each table means, which requires that you study up each table, something I have no time or patience to do.

Wade's points not enough



(AP) Dwayne Wade and Alonzo Mourning took home the scoring titles for the game but in the end their efforts were not enough to put Miami in the wins column. Zo's 25 points and 10 boards would surely be enough to take home the Game's MVP Award but the futile efforts from the remaining three starters kept Miami from taking taking home the "w".

On the opposite end of the spectrum though was Kirk Hinrich, the Bulls leading man. While the spotlight might've been on Ben Gordon or their new rookie, center Joakim Noah, it was Kirk's brashness that helped Chicago pull off the victory. Hinrich's 18 points, 7 boards, 6 assists, and 8 steals were more than enough, even more than anyone actually expected from this guard three years removed from his alma mater, the Kansas Jayhawks.

Rookie Joakim Noah performed admirably for his first professional matchup, dropping 13, 12 boards, and 6 assists, and throwing in 2 blocks while he was at it.

Captain Kirk continues early season dominance



(AP) Not even Superman could have stopped the raging Chicago Bulls and their unquestioned leader, Kirk Hinrich. Dwight Howard, widely considered one of the the most exciting young players in the the National Basketball Association to this day, proved that it takes more than one person to defeat a five individuals acting as one. Luol Deng led the day in the points category but it was the heroics of one named Kirk Hinrich that enabled the Bulls to unearth the secret behind the "rabbit in the hat" trick. Captain Kirk mastered a methodical offense picking apart wide open passing lanes and finding his teammates for easy buckets. On the opposite end of the court, Kirk's prowess on defense led to many forced turnovers on Orlando's part opening up for drives to the basket for Luol Deng and Hinrich.

The Magic's guards left much to be desired to the fans and analysts watching as Jameer Nelson turned the ball over five times. His points were overshadowed by his poor shooting percentage, particularly his perimeter shooting. When pressed to create a play, he was prone to turning the ball over to the Bulls, from which Chicago promptly turned them into two points putting score out of reach. However, not all fault falls on Nelson's lackluster play as the Magic's combo of Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu really produced results that were less than expected. Hedo shot poorly and rarely found himself open whereas Lewis lacked any real fire on the offensive side of the ball, and yet he showed a desire to crash the boards on defense.

Player Spotlight
Joakim Noah continued his great rookie showing from last game against Miami into tonight's game. While most attention was on Captain Kirk and Luol Deng, Joakim pounded the glass but where he did his most damage was from the free throw line, going to the line five times after sinking five contested shots. His four assists are not to be dismissed either as Joakim continues to play a major role in the Bulls success on the court.

I wouldn't play nocioni on pf, I know he can but you have 2 great power forwards in gooden and thomas. In my opinion you should play nocioni on sf together with deng.

I try not to play Nocioni at PF but once in a while it's nice to have Deng and Nocioni on the court together.

Before I was using those rosters and patches, I had to manually correct substitutions during games and the CPU hardly subbed players in/out unless they were fouls.

With the Roster & Patch, I'm experiencing the CPU subbing players in/out throughout the game to conserve energy for their players. In other words, I'm seeing CPU teams play majority of their roster instead of seeing games end with the five starters playing every minute.

I tend to let the CPU make substitutions. Nocioni gets subbed in at PF sometimes which is why you see him listed there but majority of his playing time he spends at SF. He just happened to be PF when the game ended.

This is definitely an underrated dynasty. Try and keep this up and not restart it though haha

I've made it a point to stay out of my Simulation dynasty. If and when I decide to just continue my simulation dynasty, I'll save a backup of my playable franchise somewhere else, lol.

I've actually labeled my file something much easier instead of Bulls2007 or whatever year it is in the franchise. Now I've gone with:

It makes it easier to differentiate between my playing dynasty and simulation dynasty.

Kirk Hinrich continues to raise the bar for excellence



(AP) Guards Larry Hughes and Kirk Hinrich's tough defense and willingness to spread the ball around have given opposing teams reason to be concerned win both are on the court at the same time. Hughes is typically known for his defensive prowess whereas Hinrich is loved in Chicago for his keen ability to direct his offense on the court. But what are teams supposed to do when they swap roles? Hughes finding the open man while Kirk picks apart the passing lanes. That is what Sacramento had to figure out how to overcome when Chicago hosted the Kings. The Bulls point guard put down 26 points, taking home the title of high points leader while on the opposite end of the court he created nine of the Kings 19 turnovers that lead to another 18 points on the scoreboard.

Three games completed. Three "Jordan Player of the Game" Awards given out to Kirk Hinrich. I give much love to the Bulls leader as over the past three games he has clearly been the biggest factor in the Bulls three game win streak. Over the first three games, Hinrich has averaged 21.7 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 5 apg, and 8 spg. His field goal percentage is at 0.548, going to the line 18 times hitting 72 percent.

(AP) Michael Redd was brilliant. Maurice Williams was fabulous. But together they were not enough to overcome Chicago Bulls front court fire power and the defensive dominance of Kirk Hinrich. Every shot that Michael Redd made, Andres Nocioni or Tyrus Thomas would answer back. Every assisted shot by Maurice Williams was promptly answered with Hinrich and his astoundingly quick arms reaching in for the takeaway. While Kirk Hinrich's points dropped to a season low 8-points, it was his leadership elsewhere on the court that continued to shine. Having what appeared to be an off-night shooting, Hinrich continued to find open shots on the court by connecting with Thomas and Nocioni on several occasions. He showed his true grit when he snatched three defensive rebounds out from under Charlie Villanueva and Andrew Bogut and do show how complete of a player he really is, he included a blocked Maurice Williams shot.

While Hinrich was busy running the court, Andres Nocioni and Tyrus Thomas settled into the roles of scorers. Thomas settled nicely under the basket for a few alleys from Hinrich and Ben Gordon and even managed to build his chemistry with Andres Nocioni. Thomas remained cool under pressure from the free throw line hitting 6 of his 9 attempts, while Nocioni drained all seven of his tries from the line. Although Luol Deng was missed, the Bulls offense never skipped a beat, showing that Chicago is not really a one-dimensional offense, that instead they can hit it down low anytime their offense depends upon it, such as tonight when the Bulls only hit 2 out of their 14 tries from downtown.

Player Spotlight
The first two games were the rookie, Joakim Noah, and he's appeared to hit a snag on the offensive side of the court. Last game was all about Kirk Hinrich. This game, though it clearly could have been about Hinrich, I've decided that the focus should stay on Tyrus Thomas. The Bulls looked to give Noah a bit of breathing time while seeing what Gooden could offer at Center. Results do not lie. With Thomas starting at PF, the Bulls found themselves a dynamic scorer down in the paint and combined with Gooden, the duo became even tougher to handle. This is one small step for the pair, one giant step for the Bulls.

Chicago Five-O Outlast King James and His Cavs, 113-107
Bulls extend win streak to five games; Can they continue it against a struggling Indiana squad



(AP) Twenty lead changes throughout the Bulls-Cavs matchup last night. Both squads remained hot throughout the whole game but in the end it came down to the Bulls putting up more shots which resulted in more buckets. On a night when Ben Gordon showed his streaky side, which could go either way, tonight it was those certain shots in the fourth quarter that helped pull the Chicago Bulls away from the Cavs just enough to give them the "W" in the wins column. A defensive stance by former Cavalier, Larry Hughes, and Kirk Hinrich caused just enough havoc to force Cleveland to alter their approach which opened up shots for Ben Gordon and Luol Deng on the opposite end of the court. Another former Cavalier had a solid night with Drew Gooden pulling down 9 boards, credited with 3 assists, and dropped 12 from inside the paint. However, a former Bull, one you might remember, Ben Wallace, only managed to put out decent results with his subpar 9 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block, and 6 points. Maybe had he stayed out of foul trouble could he have been more effective.

Player Spotlight
While all eyes were on King James and his magnificent performance against the Chicago Bulls, it was all about Larry Hughes and his defense. Though not particularly a point guard, he did see court time running the offense with Ben Gordon playing the two. His five assists and seven steals combined with 13 points were enough to put the Cavaliers down.

Around the NBA
Minnesota Timberwolves made a splash in the free agency waves when they signed oft-troubled forward, Darius Miles. While in most cases contracts are kept out of the public eye, Miles was very forthcoming about his latest deal which netted him nearly 30 and half mil for the next five years.

In other news, the Philadelphia 76ers made a splash as well when they signed the highflying act of Gerald Green to a 4 year deal. While the amount was not disclosed to the press, sources from within the organization have said it in the 20 to 30 million range.

Finally, a couple signings were really low on the radar blip screen but the Blazers signed rookie Tarence Kinsey to a 2-year deal and the Hawks signed Yaroslav Korolev to a 1-year agreement. Neither player is expected to have a big impact as they were signed merely as roster fodder.

Chicago's Pace Too Much for Indiana, Bulls Win by 35
Hinrich and Hughes remain as dominant defensive guards duo



(AP) In a sport where every possession counts, the Bulls front court duo of Larry Hughes and Kirk Hinrich continue to haunt their opposition with their imposing defense. Hinrich remains on top as the league steals leader with 37 (6.17 thefts per game). Larry Hughes is slowly building steam with his 16 steals (2.67 thefts per game). The Bulls ability to create turnovers via steals offsets their inability to create second-chance points off missed shots. With Jeff Foster crashing the boards, Jermaine O'Neal tried everything in his power to put the team on his shoulders but the inability of the Pacers' Guards to keep the ball away from Hinrich and Hughes prevented Indiana from making any real headway in the game. Each passing period caused the crowd at United Arena to get louder and louder. While the Bulls may have won by 35, the only real dominating the Bulls did was create turnovers and pass the ball around, almost as if they played real team basketball.

Player Spotlight
Let's venture back to a rookie name Joe Kim No Uh. Seriously. With the Pacers missing so many of their shot attempts, it was incumbent that someone be there to corral the ball. Lo and behold, there stood the Bulls' 6'11" rookie center willing to throw his 232-lb frame around with such passion just to give the Bulls another shot on offense. Of course, it would have been fantastic if he was able to withstand Jeff Foster's strength and frame in an attempt to give the Bulls more second-chance opportunities, but alas, Chicago will just have to settle for 18 defensive boards combined with 9 points, a lone blocked shot, and 3 assists. Not a bad night for a rookie, might I say.

not a huge fan of Hughes as I'd rather see Gordon get the mins; but he's doing well for your dynasty which is really well done btw

I don't want to spoil the dynasty results but Gordon and Tyrus Thomas are fighting for the Sixth Man of the Year Award ... in my own eyes, of course. As it stands though, Gordon would win by a mile.

Just recently I increased the percentage of the chances that he'd start. You'll see more and more later. I like how Hughes has been playing but personally, I'm partial to Ben Gordon as well. Chances are I'll move Hughes but it might not be until the off-season before that happens because I have a feeling it's gonna take moving him just to get someone that plays better in the paint other than Joakim Noah. We're last in Offensive Rebounds and Blocks right now.
