What type of dynasty should be done?

Rebuilding of a bad team, such as the Knicks or TWolves.

Rebuilding a good aging team, such as the Heat or Spurs (actually, I just loathe SA)

Building a one-dimensional team around a superstar (LBJ, KB24, Wade)

Continuing the success of a strong team, such as the Suns, Nuggets, Spurs.

With all those flaws, just don't start a dynasty.

Starting a PS2 Dynasty, Need Some Advice

Thu May 01, 2008 8:44 am

I am considering starting up an NBA Live 2007 dynasty on the Playstation 2...here are the specifications of it...

1) Updates will be posted every other week, and these will consist of important moves made by the team, articles on the games played, and general information on other things that happen such as injuries, morale, etc.

2) I am not familiar with any way by which I would be able to have screenshots from the PS2 on this site, unless i took a camera and photographed the screen, don't know how that would work out. Unless that's what most people would prefer, I won't be adding in screenshots of my own.

3) Roster updates can't be obtained on PS2, so I will be using rosters slightly modified with major moves such as the Pacers/Warriors trade, and the Nuggets/76ers trade. But trades from this past NBA season will not be featured. Likewise, this means that I won't be able to get realistic rookie classes, and they will be the rookies featured in the game.

4) Games will be played with 12min quarters, and 12min simulation as well. An intervention style of play will be used, and I will personally finish off every fourth quarter or third quarter if ever necessary to salvage a major deficit.

Having said that, would people be interested in such a dynasty? I also have set up a poll, please contribute to it.

Rebuilding of a good aging team.
Most dynasties now (including mine) use bad teams and rebuild them.
But using an aging team like the Spurs would be cool too!
Anyway, whatever you pick.. good luck with it.

Who are you again? I recognize your sig, but I'm not sure what your old name was. Also, what is the reasoning behind your new one?

Sure, if you did a good job, I'd follow this. Pictures are unnecessary. As far as rosters go, I would make all of the recent moves, and sim the 06-07 season. It would be current rosters with different rookies.

I would take a good aging team. Try Dallas, as they are a sinking ship with a lot of trade-able pieces.

Good luck.

When you say "strong teams" New Orleans should be included there.
I picked rebuilding an aging team. I would love to see someone rebuilding Phoenix after their unsuccesful post-season.

Unless you've got the hardware to capture video/images from your TV, a digital camera is really your only option. Although screenshots can spice up a Dynasty I think they're overrated. Unless they're depicting something noteworthy, they're kind of repetitive and don't really add much; well-written recaps and the like will paint a vivid picture anyway.

That has always been my view on pictures. I'm glad someone is behind me on this.

Good to see this reaction, I was looking into starting one for a while but the reason I never did was because it always seemed as if the ones that were mostly text flopped, and the ones with the screenshots and the patches were highly successful.

You'll always run into people on forums who don't want to read a lot of text and would rather look at pictures but there's definitely a "market" for text-based Dynasty threads if the effort is there.
