NBA Franchise - NBA Live Sim League - Spots available....

Sun Apr 27, 2003 12:08 am

I'm interested in making a franchise site with 28 other GM's. What i have been thinking is a Sim league where all games a simmed, about a nba live season month a week. So itll take about 6 weeks to complete a season. and about 150 weeks to complete a 25 year franchise

GM's will be able o do everthing you do when running an NBA Live franchise, except for play the actual games.

But i need some people to show interest - about 28 or so :D

Let us know if you got any ideas or what to contribute.

Non-fiction? If so, I'll take Suns. :D

I think it's a good idea...but it's not like there aren't games like this already going...there are lots.

yeah i know there is plenty of leagues going, but all the good ones have waiting lists and all the others are done so half assed there not worth the effort.... :?

Thats one thing i'm trying to think of - something to make this one stand above the rest....

How about a nifty moto? :P "We stand out above the rest"

I think it's the HTML work and organization that stands out above the rest. (Y)

Well thats one area i am pretty sure of what i am doin..... on a good day. :)

Maybe the motto is the difference between success and failure. :D

i'd be keen :D :D

you gonna have it on original rosters or have a draft???

either way i don't mind :D

Sun Apr 27, 2003 10:43 am

yeah sounds like a good idea, so we will have to make a site for or team?

Sun Apr 27, 2003 12:50 pm

maybe 1 month simulated per week is too quick... what happens if u propose a trade with another gm and he takes 3 days to respond??? you could miss the trade deadline or something!

but anyways count me in :D

I have no idea how this would work but give me the Wizards!

Well, i've been thinking more about how this can be done, and what i have come up with is just some guidlines.

I decided a month a week is probally to fast - (as was pointed out by w00kle :) ) so what i'm thinking is that each team has a week and a half to submit for the following month to proceed. But in the case of the tradedead line, the league will have a break period of a week to finalise final trades.

At the moment I am undecided about whether to have draft to start the season, or to use orignal rosters. but i'll let you guys decide that. :D

An idea i like that is used at NLL is that the gm's earn points during the season for completing tasks such as winning certain games, maintaining a team site and losing points for not submitting your team on time. These points then come into play when resigning a player etc.

And other things to add to it are pretty much things we wished were in NBA Live 2003 Franchise mode - trading draftpicks, monthly awards etc :P

If you have anything you want to add, just drop a line.

Wed Apr 30, 2003 6:19 pm

Well interest is starting to pick up :D

With team sites. Do people want me to make a simple standard format, so all you have to do is update it? Or does someone want to do this for me?

Thu May 01, 2003 12:15 am

Yeah, the first option sounds good - I'm not very website-creation-saavy so anything to make it more "GM-friendly" would be appreciated!

Thu May 01, 2003 8:30 am

Yeps..i like Soul Glo's template..it gives u a real NBA.com feeling....I like it...where all i have to do is update it...less work fer me

Thu May 01, 2003 4:03 pm

yeah i like the idea of a template that you create then we update and maybe add to them that way all the sites will be similar but still diff at the same time, i think ill stick with orlando

Thu May 01, 2003 4:09 pm

well. seeing tho i had nothing to do all day, i went and made a site for every team.... :D took a lil longer then i expected. :?

But have a look.

the address is http://nbafranchise.tripod.com/team-name-in-here/index.htm

as in http://nbafranchise.tripod.com/cavaliers/index.htm[/url][/b]

The pages a very bare, but once people start making them their own it should look good :P

And i am looking at a server that doesn't display ads.

cheers
