Oakland, CA - Led by Gilbert Arenas, who had 31 points and 12 assists, the new-look Golden State Warriors easily took care of the visiting Clippers in the season opener. The Warriors got off to a hot start, leading by 10 after the first. That lead increased to 21 at the half, and got as high as 30 in the third quarter. The Warriors let their second-string players play the fourth quarter as they take the first game of the season 122-100

Wagner not settling for bust

At the young age of 23, Dajuan Wagner is actually a 5th year veteran. After being drafted 6th in the 2002 draft, he went on to average 13 PPG in a promising rookie season. However, injuries killed his career. In his last season with Cleveland, he averaged a career low 4 points in only 11 games. Wagner did not play at all in the 2005-06 season due to illness. He hopes that this season will be his breakout year.

Wagner had a huge High School career, most famous for scoring 100 points in a game. He then went on to play a year of college for Memphis and declared for the draft. Wagner was compared to AI before the draft, but has turned out to be quite the opposite.


Dajuan Wagner

Wagner has developed much-needed Point Guard skills and is no longer an undersized SG in a PG's body. In the Warriors' season opener, he made the most of his limited playtime, scoring 14 points and 6 assists, in only 15 minutes. Dajuan Wagner is a major storyline for the Warriors.

Will #2 (He was #0, but that is Arenas's famous number) finally become more than just another lottery bust? As for now, he is stuck behind Gilbert Arenas. We'll just have to wait and see how this season turns out for the young guard.

Nice Trades, love that your giving Wagner time(Like you said, always believed he had the potential but injuries killed him) Too bad you traded Jamison again, it would have been like the old Warriors again if you got Hughes along with the two. Arenas nearly gets triple-double in big win

Oakland, California - Gilbert Arenas had another huge night, as he led his team to another blowout. They jumped out to a huge start, leading 35-22 after the first. A slow, defensive-minded third quarter resulted in a 52-39 halftime lead. The Bobcats improved in the third quarter, at one point dropping the deficit to single digits, but a scoring run by Golden State put the Bobcats out of the game for good.

The bench players played the rest of the game for the most part. Dajuan Wagner's quest for redemption continued as he scored 9 points, dished 3 assists, and grabbed two boards in 18 minutes. The final score was 109-87 Golden State. As a team, the Warriors shot 51%, as opposed to Charlotte's 36%.

Hey, thanks everyone for the praise. This is probably the fastest an Association of mine has ever grown, already at 20 replies (though about half of those are mine...). Tuomas: I hate Jamison and Jasikevicus, and I always wanted to have Lewis. Also, I am doing very well at the start of the season, but bear in mind that I haven't encountered any strong competition yet.

Grizzlies' Comeback not enough to stop Surging Warriors

Oakland, California - Tonight's victory against the Grizzlies proved that the 2007 Warriors are no joke. Taking an incredible 22 point lead after the first quarter, the Grizzlies seemed doomed from the start. However, strong play in the second and third allowed Memphis to cut the Warrior lead to three. Warriors by 8 going into the 4th.

Playing Arenas and second-string players, the Warriors managed to pull away from the Grizzlies' fatigued starters. They overcame rookie Rudy Gay's huge night to take the win 117-98. The Warriors hold on to the top point differential and PPG lead averaging a 116-95 victory.
