Raptors Announce Preseason Schedule
To allow newly hired Toronto Raptors General Manager Paul Hughes to get a good look at his new players and to get a feel for the NBA style of play the Raptors will be playing 5 preason games.
Friday 14th October - Jazz @ Raptors
Sunday 16th October - Raptors @ Celtics
Thursday 20th October - Nets @ Raptors
Monday 24th October - Raptors @ Cavs
Thursday 27th October - Raptors @ Blazers
Former Raptors Vince Carter will be in town on the 20th, before returning second game of the season, Friday 4th November. Will he get a similar welcome as April 15th? Or have the Raps fans finally moved on?
Raptors rookies, Charlie Villanueva, Joey Graham and Jose Calderon can expect a lot of minutes throughout the preseason and I'm sure they won't disappoint. On the other hand, Eric Williams, Aaron Williams and Tierre Brown need to prove their value to the team. There is no doubt that there is a center issue, both CB4 and CV31 are set to play at the 3 and 4 as they will struggle to handle the bigger bodies on the boards if they play at the 5th spot. After a poor first season, Rafael Araujo needs to start developing his game and cannot afford to give away anymore cheap fouls or pickup few rebounds and blocked shots. If Hoffa shows little or no improvement, don't be surprised to see him on the trading block.
