Welcome to T-Dot: The 2005-06 Live Edition of the Toronto Raptors
INTRO
After making dumb mistakes in his rookie debut (Araujo drafting, Alston signing, Carter trade etc) Richard Peddie President & CEO of Toronto Raptors Management has terminated Rob Babcock from him General Manager duties. To replace him, Peddie has given Toronto local Kevin Williams aka Raptors6thman the new position. We wish him all the best in this upcoming season.
"As GM of this Live NBA team, I will try my best to bring the Raptors back to our 2000-01 success. This city has embraced the game of basketball being that it will forever be a hockey nation. We owe it to our fans all over to be competitive each and every night and make the city of Toronto and Canada proud.
Every since we were awarded this NBA franchise, I stopped cheering for my then favourite team Charlotte. Toronto and Vancouver soon became my favourite teams. (What ever happened to Lawrence Molten?) I watched as much games on TV as possible. I never been to a basketball game ever so you can imagine the excitement I felt when I was part of history - in 2000. The Raptors lost 87-80 to the Knicks 3-0, in the first-ever NBA playoff game in Canada. I lost my voice booing my past favourite player Larry Johnson. It would also be the last time we could have chanted "Stay TMac".
Since then Ive been to many other games, most memorable ones:
Round 1 game 4 in Toronto vs Detroit (minus VC, when we made that push to the playoffs without him for the final 14 regular season games)
Michael Jordan (Wiz) vs the Raptors - i had goosebumps watching him torch our team and also his first matchup vs VC
Last april 05: Welcome back Carter - lost my voice booing for our most recently hated player.
So as you can see I have history with this team, anyone who knows me whenever a new ball game is out i play first as my Raptors. Any leagues I'm in - Raptors. Anything to do with the Raptors I will go outta my way to make them a part of me. So with that said I hope I can bring this team back to respectability. We havnt even tipped off the season but we are expected to finish dead last. Thar doesnt sit well with me. And I know this is a game but at least I would like the chance for some redemption. I've been through the ups and downs in the past 11 years with this team. Watched as good players we had become great players elsewhere. For whats its worth I wouldn't take back anything. We're currently in a rebuilding stage and I look forward and will support whatever our current real life management does to bring us back to greatness.
To other fellow Toronto Live fans I hope the passion that I have for my team is shared with your Toronto franchise. I look forward to feedback from all and also will be checking to see how you guys are doing with your teams. Good Luck all." - Raptors6thman
