My Nuggets Franchise (3rd season)

Wed May 25, 2005 10:55 pm

Due to some problems I lost my save file. So I started a new francise. I used the salary file from live 04. Salary cap was changed but the new contract values only worked with rookies or when a player was signed for a new contract. I simulated two seasons so most of the players had the correct cantract values. Trough some tradeing I got myself a pretty good team.

SETTINGS
Play off lenght: 1-3-3-3
Skill lvl: All-star
Quater lenght: 7min
Season lenght: Short
Simulation

1ST SEASON RECAP
We didn't make the play-offs. Detroit Pistons took home the title
We got the 12th pick and drafted a SG Jon Brooks(81 OV). We also made some minor trades
2ND SEASON RECAP
We made the play-offs with 21-8 but lost to the Phoenix Suns in the first round because Kenyon Martin was injured. note that all games were simulated. Detrait Pistons won in again. We got the 25th pick and drafted a C Zack Jones(69 OV). We signed a contract with Theo Ratliff who we immediatly traded for Gilbert Arenas.

ROSTERS

Jon Brooks 6'7'' 195LBS SG drafted 12th overall. Years pro: 1
+ FG
+ SPEED

- 3PT
- Def REB

Zack Jones 6'10'' 258LBS C drafted 25th overall. Years pro: 0

I'm happy about everyone exept Andre Miller who's overall has decreased by 7 pionts in the past two years. He will be the back-up point guard for me.

Game 1
LAC 98:123 DEN

Starting lineups
Image

After a few minutes Elton Brand and Keith van Horn both got two fouls and were sitting on the bench. We won the 1st quater easily 20:34. Everyone played very good.
In the 2nd quater I enjoyed how good my bench is. NENE made some fine moves under the basket while Stephen Jackson was hot from the 3 point line. 2nd year player Jon Brooke also had a nice game going and Andre Miller made some great passes. After the first half we were leading 47:56.
Keith van Horn was quiet on the court and Elton Brand was still having foul trouble and sat most of the 3rd quater on the bench. Cory Maggette got some help from PG R. Andrews but in the end of this one we were still leading.
4th quater was a bomb. We got 35 points (17/20) in this one, mainly from our substitutes. The opponents were too tired to stop us and in the end it was 98:123
Carmelo Anthony was POG

sorry for not posting any pics this time. I downloaded fraps so I wouldn't have to switch from live 03 to paint after takeing a pic from the stats. but I pressed the wrong key so no pics were made

Game 2
DEN 98:83 UTAH

A very easy game. We took the lead early and kept it til the end. Tho it was a 15 point win everyone played bad exept NENE who came from the bench scoring 14 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. He was named POG.

Game 3
SAN. A. 104:120 DEN

An interesting game. We were tied after the first quater where Kenyon Martin got 2 fouls and had to sit out the remainder of the first and the whole 2nd quater. NENE once again came from the bench with some sick moves. We made a 10-0 run in the 2nd period but San. A. made a 8-0 run right after that. In the half NENE had 10 points, 7 boards and 4 blocks.
Yao Ming was the key player in the third. He got some offensive rebounds giveing our team a lot of second chances.
We finally won the game with a big scoring run in the 4th. DeMarr Johnson was POG this time.

well I'll try to keep this francise alive. I haven't had any luck live 01 or 03 so far. Either my computers brakes down on me or I mess something up myself. I remember when I played live 00 years ago..I played like 15 seasons or something. When I got fed up with it I just didn't play it but continued my francise later. I remember I had like the biggets "steal" of all times in live 00. I was exploreing new players in the league and there was this guy named Tupac Edwards. And cuz I'm a huge 2Pac fan I traded his to my team (Denver Nuggets :) ). His played C/PF 6'11'' 280LBS or so he's overall was only 71. He was a trash player for me for 2 seasons. He then moved up in ratings and was my substitute PF. After 6-7 seasons his overall was 90, FG 90, he was fast and strong. MVP every season averageing 35+ points and 15+ rebounds per game. He was liks Shaq but he could hit long range jumpers and was a very good FT shooter.

Game 4
DEN 170:95 MEM

We won the first period 30:19 and the half 55:46. Carmelo Anthony had 22 points after the first two quaters and Mike Miller had 13 in 7 minutes. In the end of the third we were down by 2 but after winning the last quater 29:15 it was 107:95 and our 4th win of the season.
Anthony was POG

Cuz I still didn't get fraps to work (tho it works with every other game I have) there are no ingame screens for this game. Luckaly I saved the stats

Wow, I noticed you don't do much with Gilbert Arenas... :|
But overall, great franchise :D ...keep it up. (Y)

Mon May 30, 2005 5:17 am

Wow... 15 seasons man... I just played 3 seasons without simulating, after that, I've simulated all games until the end...
BTW Congratulations for your 4th win, I can't wait to see the next game... hope you grab another win...

Oh yeah... don't care about my English, I must study

thanks

Arenas isn't scoreing as much as he should but he does lead the league in assists (9,8)

November recap

We played a total of 4 games in this month and won all of them. The sweetest was the one against San Antonio. Everyone is playing well but Kenyon Martin and Gilbert Arenas should score more. I'm very happy to see that my bench has developed so much.

After 3 minutes of play we were leading 4:11. Then we pulled of a 10-0 scoring run. Portland didn't have a cure against Carmelo who was the main factor in the first perion with 12 points. The Nuggets won the first quater 19:34.
Starting the 2nd quater with their substitute players, the Nuggets grabbed a 22 point lead after an 8-0 run. NENE once again stepped onto the court powerfully grabbing 7 rebounds and scoring 8 points. Andre Miller and Stephen Jackson also played a big part in the 2nd period. Bench scoring was the key factor in this quater witch ended 42:58
A horrible game from both teams in the third period. We still won it 14 to 17.
The last quater was a big one for us again. We outscored our opponents by seven points, finally winning the game by 26 points.
DeMarr Johnson was POG today.

Next game is against Atlanta

I haven't had time to post recaps for a few days but I'll post one now. I'm also going to change the way I write my recaps a bit so you can get a bigger view on whats going on in my franchise.

Game 6
ATL 112:114 DEN

Game 7
DEN vs DAL

Before the game

Before game number 7 the Nuggets were 2nd in the Western Conference with 6-0 record. Dallas was a few places down with a record of 5-1.
Both teams full of stars, the Mavs have strenghten their bench with S. Marbury and C. Boozer are now looking forward to put the Nuggets's winning streak to an end.

The GAME
The Nuggets started the game with a full court pressure. The game was tied for the first half of the first period when suddenly the Nuggets made a 12-0 scoring run, forcing Dallas to take a time out. The time out didn't help as the scoring run continued to 17-2 and finally Denver won the first quater 31:21. Anthony had 10 points, Martin and Johnson both 6 while M.Finley and J. Stackhouse also both got 6 points. Jason Terry missed a lot of 3 pointers and made 4 turnovers.
In the second quater Dallas got as close as 8 points but in the middle of the period the Nuggets were ahead by 17. Ming and Johnson had a strong game going and Martin held off Nowitzki, who only scored 7 points in the first half. It was Finley and Stackhouse who kept their team in the game. They aslo got some help from M. Daniels. Girbert Arenas got his 4th foul in the end of this period and was forced to sit out the next quater. By the half Denver had an 11 point lead over the Mavs.
The third period started with a change in both lineups: Arenas was substituted for Miller and Nowitzki, who had a very bad game in the first half, was substituted for C. Booth. Andre Miller played good and without their german superstar the Mavs didn't have a game. By the middle of this quater the Nuggets had a 22 point lead. Dallas struggled but with the help of Finley and Stackhouse they got back in the game and before the last period they were down by 10.
In the last quater the Nuggets made one scoring run after another and were ahead by 20 points. Their bench players came in and played very well as Denver finally won the game 127:105.
Carmelo Anthony was named Player Of the Game.

The Nuggets now continue with a record of 7-0 and are looking stronger than ever. Hopes for the title are growing big after winning two strong teams like San Antonio and Dallas Mavericks.

Game 8
SAC vs. DEN

Before the game

Sacramento Kings were holding the 6th spot in the Wester Conference before the game with a 5-2 record. M. Olowokandi has joined the team as a starting center, leaving B. Miller on the bench. The Kings have one of the leagues best 3PT shooters, P. Stojakovic, on their team and lets not forget C. Webber who is averageing 24.7PPG, 11.0RPG and 5.7APG. Will they but an end to Nuggets's winning streak?

The GAME

Lineups
Image

Double teaming Webber didn't help as he had some strong low-post moves for the Nuggets. He did get some help from his teammates, though Stojakovic missed almost all the shots his attempted. Yao Ming was the only Nugget who managed to do some damage to the opponents. But then, out of nowhere, the Nuggets pull of a 13-2 run to win the opening quater 16:25. Ming had 9 points and Webber 7. Mike Bibbi got two fouls in the end of the first period.

Nuggets pull away in the second period. The Kings's bench weren't near as good as the Nuggets's. Brad Miller played poorly and there was noone else to take the responsibility of scoring on his shoulders. Andre Miller got 6 points and 2 assists in just 3 minutes. Later in the quater some fine double teaming led to 3 or 4 steals by the Kings. They got a bit closer but the damage had already been done. By the end of the first half the Nuggets had a 19 point lead.

Nuggets speed up the tempo of the game and the King are unable keep pace. Stojakovic scored 14 points in this quater but he was neutralized by DeMarr Johnsons 9 points and some good defense by the Nuggets, who enter the last period in a 22 point lead.

After a few minutes played in the 4th quater the Nuggets bring in their substitute players. Sacramentos full court pressure didn't help as Andre Miller and Stephen Jackson were unstoppable. Denver wins the game 83:108 and continue with a record of 8-0.
DeMarr Johnson was POG.

NENE, who had a great start to his season, has now played poorly the last two games. M. Bibby and M. Olowokandi should have scored more points and maybe it would all have been different. Webber also didn't play as good as he should have.
