NEW JERSEY NETS

Starters:

C: Nenad Krstic

Image

Rating: 55

Rookie Nenad Krstic should be the main big man for New Jersey this year. He will elarn through playing, so he will start over veterans such as Jason Collins. Hopefully he can develop into a leader and a star for this franchise.

PF: Cliff Robinson

Image

Rating: 62

NBA journey man Cliff Robinson will be starting at the Power Forward spot this year. He will give leadership to the younger players like Krstic and will provide some ofensive and defensive punch as well. Even in his old age, he can still perform well.

SF: Richard Jefferson

Image

Rating: 81

Richard Jefferson is the explosive and exciting Small Forward for the Nets this year. Along with Vince Carter, this could be one of the most exciting teams in the NBA this year. He will try to stay uninjured and do a lot of scoring for te Nets this year.

SG: Vince Carter

Image

Rating: 87

You all know VC. He tore apart the league in his early years, but slowed down recently. A change of scenery will help him as he assumes the role of Shooting Guard and catylist for the Nets tis year. His explosive dunks have given him a rputation and with JKidd feeding him passes, he should thrive in New Jersey.

PG: Jason Kidd

Image

Rating: 84

The veteran leader of the team Jasn Kidd will return once again to play Point Guard for the Nets. His pinpoint passes and clutch scoring help him to be one of the premier point guards in the NBA. He is also the best reboundin point guard in the league right now. He will feed all the other players with beautiful setups, not to mention lock down the opposition on defense.

Bench:
SG R. Buford 57
SF R. Mercer 55
C/PF J. Collins 54
PG/SG Z. Planicic 54

Also, I will do a cycle of play 1 game, intervene the next, sim the next. Then I will start the cycle over again.

Also, this game is dial-p friendly! :D

Breaking News!

On Oct. 30th, the New Jersey Nets traded backups Jabari Smith and Bobby Thomas for Center Zeljko Rebraca. This has helped the bench by getting a true center to backup for Krstic. Also, it freed up a small amount of cap space and opened up another roster spot for a free agent signee. Zelly (Overall rating of 47)has been moved to the 12th spot on the bench and Jaques Vaughn is now on the IR.

Big Dog is Glenn Robinson. You're talking about Uncle Cliffy here :wink:

Also, Rebraca is far from young... more like 32 or 33 by now...

Good luck in your dynasty :D

Mon Apr 25, 2005 4:03 am

Yeah, I was just looking for players to trade, and I saw Glenn, and I changed it.

And about the Rebreca ting, he's a 3rd year player, so I assumed he was young. WHatever. He's still fine.

Thanks!

New Jersey Nets (0-0) @ Utah Jazz (1-2)

First Half:

The first half was back and forth, with the Jazz having te lead for most of the time. Both Jason Kidd and Nenad Krstic got two fouls early on in the first, but they remained fould free for the rest of the half. Cliff Robinson did well defensively against the better Boozer. Vince Carter had a few good plays in the first half, but remained quiet. At the end of the second quarter, Jason Kidd gt three steals in a row, leading to a few fast break points for the Nets. Surprisingly, Jason Kidd is leading the Nets in rebounds, with 5. Vince Carter is leading the team with 8 points. The score at the half was 30-25 Nets leading.

First Half Photos:

Key Players at the Half

Kidd lays one up for the firs points of the Nets' season!

Nenad Krstic dunks one down.

Second Half:

Both Gordon Giricek and Vince Carter heated up in the thirsd quarter. Giricek had a streak of 8 points in three possesions for the Jazz. Carter had 7 points in the quarter, including one very nice dunk. At the end of the third, the score was 43-38 Nets. In the fourth quarter there was not much action. But in the last two minutes, the Jazz started fouling. Jason Kidd got two trips to the free throw line, and missed only one. On that one miss, Scalabrine grabbed te offensive board and layed it back up. Kidd intercepted the inbound pass, passed it to Scalabrine who was fouled on the shot. After sinking one of the free throws, the game wasout of reac for the Jazz. The final score was 63-56 Nets.

The player of the game was Jason Kidd.

Vince Carter led the Nets with 17 points, Kidd led the team with 6 rebounds and Kidd and Cliff Robinson were tied with 3 assists a piece.

Matchup Outcome:
Boozer had 10 points, 3rd most on the team, so Robinson did an adequite job defending. But Where Robinson had the most impact this game was on the offensive side of the ball. He had 10 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists.

Second Half Photos:

Richard Jefferson fashily gets 2 of his 4 points. Credit ver good defense by Andre Kirelinko.

Memphis Grizzlies (1-1) @ New Jersey Nets (1-0)
[Intervention]

Down by only one entering the fourth quarter, the Nets slipped away. Vince Carter was held to only 2 points in the last quarter, and Memphis really stepped it up on defense. Jason Kidd got 5 fols and was taken out and Vince Carter fouled out, leading to the utimely demise of the Nets 78-68. A bright spot in this game was Nenad Krstic, who had 7 points and 10 rebounds.

The player of the game was Lorenzen Wright with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Vince Carter led the Nets with 22 points, Krstic led them with 10 rebounds and Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson were tied with 5 assists.

Matchup Outcome:
Vince Carter had 22 points and 4 rebounds, so Miller couldn't effectively guard him. But Miller had the last laugh with 12 pointsof his own and Memphis taking the home opener from the Nets.

Second Half Photos:

Zoran Planicic slams one home in the 4th.

Jefferson lights up the crowd wit this highlight reel dunk, two of his 12 points.

Game 3

Washington Wizards (1-3) @ New Jersey Nets (1-1)
Wed., Nov. 10th, 2005

Matchup:
PG Jason Kidd vs. PG Gilbert Arenas
Which point guard will be able to more effectively help his team win this game? Both are very good, but who will win, head-to-head?

~~~
Washington Wizards (1-3) @ New Jersey Nets (1-1)
[Simulation]
This game came down to overtime, and Washington won it by a point, 83-82. Richard Jefferson went off for the Nets, scoring 30 points, grabbing 17 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists. But he alone was not enoug to stop the Wizards team effort. Both Jason Kidd (9 pts. 9 rebs. 5 asts.) and Nenad Krstic (3 pts. 9 rebs. 3 asts.) had sub-par games. Jefferson's preformance was matched by Gilbert Arenas's of the Wizards. He had 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists, leading the Wiz. Antwan Jamison also cleared the boards for the Wizards, with 12 rebounds.
Matchup Outcome:
Gilbert Arenas definately had the better night out of the two point guards. Jason Kidd had an off night while Arenas had a very good game, leading the team in points and assists.
The game's box score.
Game 4
New Jersey Nets (1-2) @ Phoenix Suns (2-2)
Sun., Nov. 21st, 2005.
Matchup:
Nets Defense vs. Suns Starting 5
Can the Nets lackluster defense stop the amazingly talented starting 5 of the Suns? All five slots are filled with offensively talented guys, so this one might be a blowout.
Breaking News!
Nov. 11
The New Jersey Nets trade Rodney Buford and Travis Best to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for rookie point guard Sebastian Telfair. Now, lacking a backup shooting guard, the Nets are looking to trade a player for one, most likely Zoran Planicic. Sebastian Telfair is going to be a spark off the bench and be a leader for when Jason Kidd retires.
Nov. 15th
The New Jersey Nets trade backup point guard Zoran Planicic to the San Antonia Spurs for shooting guard Devin Brown. This clears up the gap of a backup shooting guard the Nets had since they traded Buford last week.
New Jersey Nets (1-2) @ Phoenix Suns (2-2)
First Half:
The Suns cam eout scoring, as the usually do. The Nets defense held them, but not very well. The gap was surmountale, but rather large. A big factor was Joe Johnson, who shut down Vince Carter. Six minutes into the first quarter, we got to see new aquisitions Sebastian Telfair and Devin Brown. The first time he touched the ball, Telfair drove, dished it to Krstic and got the assits on Krstic's dunk. Then, after a few minutes, Brown hit a long two pointer. After one quarter, the Suns led by 12. Telfair then tried his hardest to get the Nets back into the game, scoring 9 by himslef, and getting 2 assists. But despitehis good play, the Nets trailed by 23 at the half. A blowout waiting to happen.
Key Players: Telfair and Barbosa
Second Half:
The second half remained quite the same. Th Nest couldn't get any shots to fall. They got offensive rebounds, but they were all blocked or missed. It seemed like no one could stop the Suns on offense either. Marion and Amare were wrecking the Nets weak low post presence. Also, even though Kidd was contesting shots well, the 3 pointers kept falling for the Suns. The game continued on this way, with not much change. Telfair continued to have a good game. After 3 quarters, the score was 93-68 Nets. Haha, just kiddng, it was 93-68 Suns. Telfair led the team with 15 points, and Krstic had 9 boards. In the fourth, the Nets came back, cutting into the lead. The lead seemed to be too much, though, and the Suns were still scoring. The Nets did better in the fourth than the other quarters, but still were losing by 20 for most of the time. Th game ended with the final score of the Suns 111 the Nets 94.
The player of the game was Amare Stoudemire, with 19 points, 11 rebounds, 5 blocks and 4 steals.
Jason Kidd led the Nets with 16 points, Krstic lead them with 12 rebounds and Telfair had a scorching first game, leading the team wit 4 assists.
The scoring for the Nets was not ver bad, with Krstic, Robinson, Jefferson, Carter, Kidd and Telfair in double digits. Krstic and Telfair showed a hint of what the Nets might become, two very good rookieson the team.
Matchup Outcome:
No. The Nets could not stop the Suns from scoring, rolling to 111 points. A poor showing by the Nets.
Second Half Photos:
Krstic takes one to the house on Amare's head.
Krstic puts back a shot attempt with a nasty dunk.
Sebastian Telfair can dunk? :o
Jefferson throws one down nicely for 2 points.
Telfair and Jefferson complete a super alle-oop. And it was on a fast break!
The game's box score.
Fri., Nov. 26th, 2004
Matchup:
Can these three lesser known players stop the Nets' three primetime players?
-JKidd
Tue Apr 26, 2005 5:19 am
New Jerse Nets (1-3) @ Charlotte Bobcats (5-2)
[Note: I felt like playing tis one, so I will intervene with the next game.]
First Half:
The Nets started off hot, and lead earl 10-4. They were doing a good job of defending Emeka Okafor, who is the main threat for the Bobcats. The Bobcats got back in it tough, and had a very nice alley-oop with Melvin Ely finishing it. The Nets came back with an alley-oop of their own, Telfair to Krstic. At the end of one quarter, the Nets led by 5, 28-23. During the second quarter, Richard Jefferson and the entire Nets squad heated up. Both Jaques Vaughn and Zelly got their first minutes this game, an both did well. Richard Jefferson lead the team with 14 points. The score at the break was 57-45 Nets leading.
First Half Photos:
Key Players at the Half
Jefferson slams it home.
Zelly with a shot and a block.
A reverse windmill for RJ!
Second Half:
Jason Kidd got his first points of the game in the second half, not a good sign. But he did ge them, and the Nets held the lead early in the third. The Bobcats fought back, but the Net were able to hold them off. Richard Jefferson got 4 mre points and at the end of three quarters, the Nets lead 85 to 76. In the fourt quarter, the Nets held on to the lead. Kidd had a very god 4th, getting a few assists and some baskets. Krstic was on the recieving end of two of those assists. In the end, the Nets won, 114 to 103, thaks to a last secnd three by Carter to bump it up to 114. :D
The player of the game was Jason Kidd.
RJ lead the Nets with 25 points, Krstic lead them in rebounds, with 10, and Kidd had 6 assists to lead the team.
Matchup Outcome:
No, the trio of RJ, VC and JKidd ran over the three Bobcat players, combining for 58 points against them, more than half of the teams total.
Second Half Photos:
Sebastian Telfair with another dunk? This time off a missed shot!
Vince Carter's 360 windmill jam, Part 1 and Part 2.
Wed Apr 27, 2005 5:26 am
New Jersey Nets (2-3) @ Portland Trail Blazers (2-6)
[Intervention]
Sporting 1991-92 retro jerseys, the Nets came into the fourth quarter with the Nets leading 78-65. Vince Carter already had 30 points, and was having a stellar all around performance. But 3 minutes into the 4th, he fouled out. Richard Jefferson was also havign a good game, leading the team in rebounds at that point. The game continued on, and even the bench players kept the Blazers at bay. The game ended with a final score of 104 to 92, in favor of the Nets.
Richard Jefferson was the player of the game.
VC had 32 points, Cliff Robinson had 9 boards and JKidd and RJ both had six assists.
Matchup Outcome:
Neither Buford nor Best had any points or anythign else, so Telfair had a better game, by default. Head to head, Telfair beat both of those players.
Second Half Photos:
Krstic battles Randolph for a rebound
Carter nails a foul shot.
Devin Brown sinks a finger roll.
Ex-Net Rodney Buford did nothing for the Blazers.
New Jersey Nets (3-3) @ Philidelphia 76ers (0-8)
[Intervention]
Going into the 4th quarter, the Nets were down by two, 49-47. A very low scoring game on both ends. The score remained close through the 5 minute mark. Krstic got his fifth foul, and had to go to the bench. Teh play continued, with nice dunks by Jefferson and Carter and the Nets took the lead 60-58 late in the 4th. But Telfair couldn't guard Iverson, and that was it for the Nets. The final score was 73-64 Sixers. VC lead the team with 23 points and RJ had 10 rebounds. Three players were tied with 3 assists.
The player of the game was Chris Webber.
The game's box score.
Matchup Outcome:
The 8 game losing streak had to end sometime.
Matchup:
Same as last times. :P
-JKidd
Thu Apr 28, 2005 6:56 am
New Jersey Nets (2-3) @ Milwalkee Bucks (0-6)
First Half:
The Bucks got the early lead, but the Nets fought back, thanks to a strong outing by Telfair, who had 8 points in the first. The Bucks zone defense has seemed to throw the Nets off, seeing as they have not many outside shooters. After one, the Nets lead by 2, 30-28. Kidd got hot in the start off the second. He hit two 3's and drove for a layup in succession. The Bucks fought back, and with not much time left in the half, Cliff Robinson went out with a back injury, tough he will likely come back later. At the half, the Nets lead by 3, 52-49. Telfair, Robinson and Krstic lead the team in points, boards and assists, respectively.
Key Player: Cliff Roninson: 7 points, 8 rebounds, 5 blocks
Second Half:
The third half went smoothly, with the Nets up by 2 at the half. If anyone cares about this crappy description, please comment. :x Also, Cliff Robinson, despite the injury, it two blocks away from a triple double. The Bucks kept it close and had to start fouling. A missed T.J. Ford shot plus some free throws by Jefferson sealed it for the Nets. The final score was 103-98. Jason Kidd was the player of the game.
Please, guys, could someoen comment? I've had 3 so far. That's pitiful.
Futzy,could you please tell me how can i put my screanshots into my topic.I know it is written somewhere,but i'm too lasy to look for it,thanx,btw. I like the way you write about your dynasty,keep up the good work. (Y)
Thu Apr 28, 2005 8:28 am
Thanks for the comment. To put screenies into you topic, go to the desired screen in the game, hit "PrtScn" or some variatian of that on your keyboard. Then, go to an image editing program (I use Photoshop) and paste it. For added quality when in Photoshop, use "Image Size" to resize it. The smaller the pic, the better quality. My real game doesn't look as good as it does in the screens. It is much choppier. But the resizing helped it look smooth. Now, after you've saved it (I prefer png's) go to imageshack.us or some other image uploading service and upload it. Then, if you're using imageshack, use the "Direct link t this picture" field and put it in your post. Once it's in your post, around the url, put the tags [img]and[/img]. Then you're done!
Try to do some action with N.Krstic.
I start dynasty mode 2weeks ago and play with N.J.
Carter iz amazing playa, but there is a Kid too and sometimes he take a 'Playa of The Game' with steal or assistents power :wink:
I try to trade some players for better PF positions but ... not results :roll: maybe wanna see McDyes or Camby in start 5...
Sat Apr 30, 2005 12:38 am
as I always say, don't worry about comments....I never got comments for a long time (most of my 1st season if I recall correctly) but now I get quite a few....I think jxuusa was the only consistent poster I had in my 1st season (and I thank him for that :wink: )....if this dynasty continues, then you'll get comments....there's so many good dynasties out there that no one wants to spend their time checking and posting into new dynasties if they're gonna shut down after a week....
catch 22 I guess....
anyway, so what are your plans with the Nets anyway?!? are you gonna bring in a C or wait for draft or free agency?!?
Sat Apr 30, 2005 8:26 am
Well, thanks. I guess I was just mad that I was doing all this work, and no one really cared.
But for my plans with the Nets, I want to get a PF and SF in the draft, and keep Krstic in there to develop. He's doing pretty well, and I don't want to fix something that's not broken. Same thing with PF. Cliff is doing really well, scoring about 12 ppg, and putting up a good amount of blocks, for someone with a 50 rating. So I'd say my starting 5 is set for this season, any other trades will be for backups. Speaking of which...
Breaking News!
Earlier today, the Nets traded reserve small forward Ron Mercer to the Philidelphia 76ers for sophmore Kyle Korer. Korver, one of the best snipers in the league, will help with the Nets lac of outside scoring. His defense needs work, but he is still young and will learn from Richard Jefferson. Ron mercer wasn't very productive, scoring less than 5 points a game, and was not doing much to help the team. Korver will develop to be a leader on this team in the future. Along with Telfair and Krstic, the Nets are looking to make their team younger, after being filled with veterans like Mercer and Travis Best. Also, the Nets freed up $1 million in cap space.
-JKidd
Sat Apr 30, 2005 8:50 am
Good trade,man,in my dynasty,Korver is the top scorer among the bench players,I think that the Nets should go for him in this summers off-season,I mean,two of us got him,it would only be fare that Thorn gets him as well :idea: :lol: :crazyeyes: :headbang:
Sat Apr 30, 2005 11:30 am
Los Angelas Lakers (5-2) @ New Jersey Nets (6-4)
The Nets got off to a rough start in the first, getting down by as many as 13. But thanks to an offensive outburst by the bench and a defensive lockdown, they crawled back into in by the end of the first. VC had 6 points and newly aquired Korver had 2 assists. He also had two points. The score after one quarter was 31-26. In the second, and offensive outbreak lead to the score being 39-33 Nets, and good defense was played as well. Teh Lakers only scored one point in the first minute and a half. But the Lakers came back, and took the lead once again. One of the mismatches was Sebastian Telfair on Chuky Atkins. Telfair just couldn't keep up with him, and Telfair's height didn't help him contest any sots, either. At the end of the half, the score was 66-63 in favor of the Nets, thanks to a buzzer beater 3 by Jason Kidd.
The players of the half were Jason Kidd (20 pts., 1 ast., 7 stls., 4 threes) and Chucky Atkins (22 pts. 3 rebs., 3 asts., 1 stl).
Jason Kidd lead the team with 20 points, Cliff had 6 rebounds and Korver had 3 assists.
First Half Photos:
Image
Carter's under-the-basket windmill, which got the fans on their feet.
Second Half:
Once again, the Lakers surged, but Jason Kidd and the Nets put them down. Jason Kidd was red hot from behind the arc, with 5 three pointers early int he third. The Nets then went on a rampage. The got so many open look sand offensive boards, the Lakers couldn't stop them. What used to be a poor shooting team was now knocking down threes left and right. Jason Kidd was gettign assists and scoring the ball. There was little the Lakers could do to stop them. Halfway through the third, the score was 93-75 in favor of the Nets. Teh third quarter ended in the same fashon, with the Nets leading by 19, 107 to 88. Int he fourth, Lamar Odom hurt his leg, which he had hurt earlier in the game, which put him out for the game. But with the Nets running away with the game, the one dark spot was that Sebastian Telfair got injured with not much left in the fourth. I hope it isn't longterm. The game ended 140-120 in favor of the Nets, which was quite a turnaround from a game that was destined to be a blowout. The team leaders were VC with 33 points, Robinson with 13 boards and Telfair and JKidd with 5 assists each.
An amazing stat is that I made 17 threes, while I could hardly hit one before.
