OFFSEASON

During the Offseason the Players mostly worked on their shooting and their Defence. There were strong performances from the Big Men, but nothing much from Melo.

1st Quarter
Both Teams started off close but after a couple of minutes Nuggets started trailing by 7 points. Geroge Karl took a Time-Out talking about Rebounding and switching to Zone Defence. Ofcourse that didn't help. Earl Boykins substituted in and thats when the Nuggets started their "On Fire" Shooting. Mr.3 Pointer Wes Person wasn't a 3 point thread in 1st Quarter but had a couple of good asissts.At the of the 1st quarter the players went to the bench with the Nuggets leading by 1.24-23.

2nd Quarter
The 2nd Quarter started off good. Both teams had a couple of good Baskets. After a while Geroge Karl took another Time-Out and told the players to get thouse rebounds. The only player that listened to him was Marcus Camby who had 14 rebounds in that game. After the time-out Melo got the hot hand. He got 18(!!!) points in the 2nd quarter. The Quarter ended with Lakers on top of Nuggets by 1.50-51.In The Locker room Karl told players that they need to stop giving other players free shots.He also said that the players need to be ready to get thouse rebounds and don't just stand there and watch how Grant pulls down the rebounds(Grant had 19 rebounds in that game)

3rd Quarter
In the 3rd Quarter Lakers didn't came out with a feeling that they'll win the game and the Nuggets took advantage of it and made a couple of good baskets on the fast break and from the 3 point line. LA couldn't keep Melo from scoring almost from everywhere. Lakers started to double team Carmelo and then Melo gave it to his good buddy DerMarr who was open standing at the 3 point line, Johnson was nailing it from outside, he was 5-7 from the 3 point line. The Lakers gave the ball to Atkins all the time, thinking that nobody would steal the ball from him. Boykins went off the bench and had 4 steals(3 of which came in the 3rd quarter).

4th Quarter
The 4th Quarter was even, both teams had couple of nice baskets and the fans loved the action. But when it came to the last minutes of the game Nuggets finally started to rebound the missed baskets and came out on top with a win 108-101."Its always good to get the first win of the season"-George Karl told the media."We still need to work on our rebounding, which i wasn't happy with today. The players need to move thier feet to get the rebounds, they clearly didn't do that.
