Preseason pressconference, performed in Gund Arena.

Head Coach Paul Silas says:
We have LeBron James, so we always have full house. This gives us bigger tasks and missions to achieve. We don`t want to let our fans down. Sitting here today, my promise is playoffs further than that we`ll see.
This year we expect even more from LeBron James, he`s our true leader.

On question about unknown Estonian (Mihkel Tammo) player signed into Cleveland`s roster Silas answers: I have a feeling about that boy, he can make it, though he`s just 18 and coming from High schols. In him I see our starting point guard or atleast great battle with Jeff McCinnis, time shows us if he can stand the pressure...

Cleveland`s celebrity owner Usher atleast see`s the talent in young Estonian. Usher told to espn news that he and Mihkel are getting along just fine and he hopes big moves from him. Usher`s other comment about the team is that whenever he`s available he`ll visit every possible Cav game.

Our questionmark Mihkel Tammo wasn`t in gund arena on pressconference day, probably to arraize even bigger interest in journalists.

Any more info on this 'Unknown Estonian'? What position? Height? Pic?

Oh, and its 'Cleveland' not 'Cleavland.'
You might want to change it soon before people start giving you crap about it.;)

Opening Night News...

Image First Comments from Cavs starting Point guard: (Interview from magasine "slam")
Q:Tell us Your story, how did you end up in Cavs?
MT: Practically after I graduated highschool in Estonia, my father offered me a change to spend a year in states, this was a dream come true to me, one day I was enjoying myself on bball court in Miami when Paul Silas approached and offered an outstanding change to participate in Cavaliers training camp, everything else is already minor...
Q: Do you consider yourself lucky?
MT: Hell yeah, I just stepped out the bed with the right leg I suppose.
Q:Do you think that you can really make it in the big league?
MT: I will certainly give it a shot, I proved myself in the trainings, and as it wouldn`t be great already, Paul Silas said that I will be in starting five.
Q: Tell us a little about Estonian Basketball?
MT:First estonian in Nba was Martin Müürsepp, slam voted it one of the biggest shocks in NBA-s history as Jazz drafted him in 1996 (25th) draft squad didn`t know jackshit about him, no highlights on stats. :) But he still is best in Estonia and one of the best players in Europe. Other than that in Estonia Basketball is very popular, you should go there and find out.
Q:thanks and good luck

Shortly: Silas is confident in open night win: he says that Hornets is weakest team in league right now and he feels confident.

Lebron James signs autographs after game in front of the Gund arenda among with Mihkel Tammo and Drew Gooden.

Max Benton (Cavs physical coach) My players are as tough as lions and physically better than any other team in Nba, I expect that they`ll crash New Orleans tonight!

Opening night at Gund Arena
Image Image
Cavs vs Hornets

[Box Score]

For the first time this year, in Gund Arena, young talented team Cavs gathered their squad to squash New Orleans 120-113. Game on the other hand wasn`t as easy for the cavs as it might seem. When the game began we saw how badly LeBron had waited for the opening game to come. 8 consecutive points from him. New Orleans answered 10-0 and went ahead(10-8). Cavs began almost as expected, only difference was that Ira Newble was replaced with Luke Jackson. First quarter was really competitive, teams tried each other, dunkmaschine J.R smith sacked 7 out of his 27 in first quarter, after first 27-24 to New Orleans. At the beginning of the second Jiri Welsch and Eric Snow got involved and scored seven in a row, to make it 27-31. After that cavs dominated the court for 5 minutes, then Hornets had a run and went ahead by two. Last word of the half time still came with Mihkel Tammo who hit from beyond the arc to beat the buzzer. 58-50 to Cavs. On third quarter Drew Gooden shined with many monster dunks and Lithuanian Zidrunas Ilgauskas blocked several shotsat the same tame Mihkel Tammo sat on the bench because he made 3 turnovers in a row. In the last quarter cavs started little sloppy and Hornets took lead, after that, Paul Silas had to use 2 consecutive time-outs to get lead again. At the end 120-113 to Cavs. After game comments from L. James: feeling is great we have fantastic team, I`m really happy on behalf of myself and my teammates that we took the first game. Pressconference comment from Paul Silas on Mihkel Tammo: I saw the lightning in his eyes in one hand but on the other I saw his hands shaking, he was really nervous. That`s why 8 turnovers are excusable, it`s still his first game. Tammo`s stats: 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 asts, 4 steals. Not bad, not bad at all, we`ll hear from that kid. Paul Silas also said that he`s one hundred procent satisfied with the game, every man pushed their own skills to the limit, come on, Lebron James 35, Drew gooden 26 and 10 rebounds, Ilgauskas had good game... Every man who went to the court scored and this is the best reward to the coach silas ends with energy in his voice. LeBron James ended up being best shooter of the night in the league. In other games Indiana overstepped Dallas 105-86.

Comments on second game

Two days before second regular season game on second november head coach Silas let`s know, that Cavs intend to go 2-0 on Atlanta. He says that on paper Hawks look weak and in the game the facts should be the same. He expects a good game from LeBron James and Drew Gooden.
He thinks that the key to the win is rebounding and shooting percentage, if we can keep thos in our regular state we`ll take the game.

Lebron James also comments: Yeah, there`s no doubt about the game against hawks, we`re in favour cus we have better players and we intend to win this game, that`s for sure.
