New Orleans Hornets Dynasty

The Hornets in 04-05

After being bounced in the first round of the playoffs in 2004, the Hornets made their move to the NBA's tough Western Confrence. They drafted J.R. Smith out of high school hoping that he would be the future of the franchise, and help star point guard Baron Davis lead the team to the playoffs. But the team suffered many injuries and eventually the team decided it was time to rebuild, so they traded away the face of their franchise, Baron Davis. They also aquired young point guard Dan Dickau, who looked to be a future star along with J.R. Smith. Right before the trade deadline, the Hornets newly signed GM traded Jamaal Magloire and Lee Nailon to the Lakers for Chris Mihm and Caron Butler. The only real highlights of the season was J.R. Smith being invited to join the rookie team, and Chris Andersen being invited to the dunk contest. But at the end of the season these youngsters could lead the Hornets to the playoffs, finishing with a overall record of 12-17.

Hornets Offseason starts!
In a strange move, the Hornets only scouted one player before the draft. That player was 7'0 Center Carl Lewis, who showed great potential and could actually nail jump shots! The Hornets traded their first round pick Vin Gill and their second round pick Zach Mayfield to the Seattle Supersonics for Carl Lewis who was picked 5th overall in the draft.

"I think he'll be a star in the league in a few years, and I think he fits our team very well", said Hornets GM Keith Brown. The Hornets also signed PG Janero Pargo who has played for both the Lakers and the Bulls in the past, GM Keith Brown supposedly wanted Pargo on the team badly. The Hornets also decided to not resign J. Vroman and let him go to free agency, check back at Hornets.com for more developments.

Carl Lewis eh?!? good athlete I imagine :D

Vin Gill was a 1st Round selection and Zach Mayfield was a 2nd Round selection in my dynasty too (although not by me)....

Sorry people, but I decided that the Hornets weren't the right team for me.

I gurantee my next dynasty will be better and I'll stick with it, thanks. (Y)
