League News
Stern makes major changes around the league
Because of how unbalanced the divisions are in the league recently (esp. the Atlantic Division), National Basketball Association Commissioner David Stern has announced some major reshuffling in the league. First off, all teams will start from scratch as a draft of 12 rounds will be held where each team will form new rosters. No players will be protected. A draft lottery will be held wherein each team will have equal chances getting the first pick.
The regular season will also undergo restructuring such that a team will only have one game with each team for the season. This is because the league thinks that the current format seems too draggy. The playoffs format will change as well. To replace the current best of 7 format, is a best of three format. The current season will be terminated and a new one will be held after the draft.
Suns owner sells franchise because of league restructuring
A few days after being informed of the news about the league changes that will be made in the near future, Phoenix Suns owner, Robert Sarver has agreed to sell the franchise for $350 million.
Not much is known about the newowner except that he is only 19 yrs old and that he got his after getting an inheritance from a distant relative. His real name is unknown and only goes by the handle of Null17.
Sarver is one of the NBA team owners who had negative reactions against the changes going about in the league. He stated that he feels cheated that this "restructuring" is happening when his franchise is doing so well after acquiring former Maverick point guard Steve Nash who is a popular candidate for MVP this season.

Thought i'd start a dynasty of my own. Wanted to do a fantasy draft so i got some stuff up about league restructuring etc. etc. I'm not really a suns fan nor am i jumping on the steve nash bandwagon. just chose the suns since they seem to be doing well this season and picking them as my team would fit quite well with the story. I'm not really into stats and stuff so don't be shocked when mine are too unrealistic.

hopefully some of you will post here...
oh yeah. i'll be doing the game recaps by month...
Thu Feb 24, 2005 11:01 pm
I wouldn't say it's bad, I just think people wait to see how dynasties pan out as a lot of people start up dynasties and they are done a week later....
if you worry about posts then you're doomed from the start IMHO....because unless you have a crazy dynasty, you ain't gonna outdo Micchy and co, especially from the outset....when I started my Bobcats dynasty I got no posts for ages, but I kept it going for my own reasons and tried to add some unique elements to it, and eventually as my dynasty evolved, I got more posts....
but either way, whilst fantasy drafts aren't my cup of tea, good luck with your dynasty....
you got a steal with Duncan at pick #11, however I think you could use a bit more depth at the C and PG positions....
Fri Feb 25, 2005 12:04 am
thanks for the post. posts won't really affect how long i'm gonna keep my dynasty though. but it would be nice if i here some comments once in a while. i initially didn't like using a fantasy draft but i got tired of the regular rosters after playing with my first dynasty for 3 seasons so i thought i'd try this
Fri Feb 25, 2005 1:53 am
Yeah, you got an excellent pick in Duncan at #11!
Fri Feb 25, 2005 10:19 am
wow my boy D-Wade got picked #9, wow Ray in LA thats interesting, nice pick, an obvious one with duncan, ur roster could use some trades IMO, but thats up too you, hopefully u can develop Telfair, and like THE X said u r pretty week at C and PG with only Bassy as a true point but GOOD LUCK, il try to follow this one
Fri Feb 25, 2005 1:33 pm
I'll try to look for a C. As for the PG, I think I can handle it. This is NBA Live after all

I'm still winning so I'll just see how far this goes

Pre, nice to see you finally doing a dynasty here.
Good luck bro, hope you stick around!!!

Croshere and Peeler to LA for Wright
Center Austin Croshere and veteran Anthony Peeler were traded to the Los Angeles Clippers for Center Lorenzen Wright. Both teams believe that the trade would improve their lineups. Free agent point guard Raul Lopez, formerly of the Utah Jazz, was signed on the same day to fill up Anthony Peeler's role as a backup guard.

THE JOURNAL by Null17
Howdy. Null17 here, new owner of the Phoenix Suns. I made this blog/journal/diary/article thing because I felt like it and because that slob Mark Cuban also has one. Anyway, I thought this would be a good venue to express what's up my mind as well as what's going on with my team.
Anyway, as what some of you have read the news, I bought the Suns off of Sarver because he felt Stern screwed him over by restructuring the league. Since I always wanted to own an NBA team and now that I had the cash, I bought the Suns. Luckily, they seem to be doing well with Timmy D in the post and Peja around the perimeter. That's it for now, catch you next issue.

nice update pre...
though i find it hard to remember which players on each team, thats the prob with fantasy draft...
well TD and Peja is a great duo, an inside presence and a great shooter..
i think your team will be doing well.
also you got a realistic score for that kind of quarter..
Keep it up pre...
Wed Mar 02, 2005 5:35 am
i always like a fantasy draft one, its nice to see guys in different uni's
Wed Mar 02, 2005 7:01 am
I too am a fan of the Fantasty draft. It's always interesting to see where players end up. Duncan with 7 block per game! Huge!
Are you trying to develop one player in particular or just get to the Championship?
Wed Mar 02, 2005 7:11 pm
thanks for the replies guys. duncan's bpg are weird, esp. since he got 10blocks in a game once.
as for developing a player, no one in particular really, maybe when the need arises like when one of my bench players moves up to the starting spot i'll try to develop them
i only did the fantasy draft coz i was bored with the current lineups. it's kinda refreshing playing with a new team.
Fri Mar 04, 2005 12:40 am
Yeah, looks great
I like Duncan with an orange jersey
Fri Mar 04, 2005 12:42 am

Nice update there man.
Fri Mar 04, 2005 12:48 am
thanks for the comments guys. i haven't played with my dynasty after the update though. kinda delaying coz it's kinda tedious taking screenshots and making notes while playing.
and yeah duncan and the orange jersey's kinda cool. kinda gives him more umm..."attitude"
Sat Mar 05, 2005 8:13 pm
If anyone cares, i think i might have to end this dynasty. It's not because of the small number of replies i get but because the thought of making lots of writeups and taking screenshots has prevented me from continuing my dynasty

i'm just too lazy. i might make a new one once i find a way to make a dynasty that's not so tiring to update. i have an idea though so a new dynasty might be posted soon
