The Beginning....
Bobcats Build Inaugural Roster With 18 Picks In Expansion Selection
The Charlotte Bobcats began the process of building their inaugural team by picking 19 players in the Charlotte Expansion Selection. The Bobcats selected 10 players under contract and nine restricted free agents. By the rules of the Expansion Agreement, the restricted free agents will become unrestricted free agents on July 1.
"Tonight we continue building the Bobcats organization," said Bobcats majority owner Robert L. Johnson. "Bernie and Ed have accomplished our goal of creating a team that will compete hard on the court and represent the franchise well off the court."
Charlotte selected 10 players who are under contract: Primoz Brezec (Indiana), Predrag Drobnjak (L.A. Clippers), Brandon Hunter (Boston), Jason Kapono (Cleveland), Zaza Pachulia (Orlando), Aleksandar Pavlovic (Utah), Jamal Sampson (L.A. Lakers), Theron Smith (Memphis), Gerald Wallace (Sacramento) and Jahidi White (Phoenix).
The Bobcats also chose restricted free agents Lonny Baxter (Washington), J.R. Bremer (Golden State), Maurice Carter (New Orleans), Desmond Ferguson (Portland), Marcus Fizer (Chicago), Richie Frahm (Seattle), Tamar Slay (New Jersey), Jeff Trepagnier (Denver) and Loren Woods (Miami).
"This is a very exciting time for everyone involved in the birth of this franchise, from community leaders to fans, from our new season ticket holders and business partners to each member of the Bobcats organization," said Bobcats President and Chief Operating Officer Ed Tapscott. "We look forward to the next step in our building process when we make our team's first-ever rookie draft pick on Thursday."
Charlotte acquired the second overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft for selecting forward Predrag Drobnjak from the Los Angeles Clippers. The team also added a future first-round selection and an undisclosed amount of cash for selecting Jahidi White from Phoenix.
"We are excited about the make up of our first Bobcats roster," said Bobcats General Manager and Head Coach Bernie Bickerstaff. "We feel the fans will appreciate a young, exciting team that will compete hard every night, defend and embrace the team concept. It was also important that we keep an eye firmly focused on the future with a long-term vision that allows for maximum roster flexibility."

CHARLOTTE BOBCATS SHATTERED
After the pre-season camp, Coach Bickerstaff was not satisfied on how his team plays. And he showed it during their last practice before the season starts.
"Honestly, I'm not happy, I never thought those players I picked or choose plays like that. They were players who alway sits every minutes in the game. And now they have given the chance to show their stuff, they blew it," Coach Bickerstaff said.
Jeff Capel, Bobcats assistant coach also added that Bobcats players dont have the will to be a winner.
"They were just contented to be a bench warmer and with attitude like that, they will not be in this league if they continue that," Jeff Capel said.
Other issuses also surrounds this young team. Some players were also not to happy to play on an expansion team.
Yeah, I know i can play more minutes in here, play hoops and be great piece of this team. But i rather be on a winning team. I'm a winner and I dont want to lose. And I know this team will lose most of the time," a Bobcats player said.
Okafor, on the other hand was happy to be here. And he expressed his feeling with this interview.
I'm here because of a reason and I accepted that. I know this is the right place for me to show my skill. You see how it as all done, I may be in Orlando if they picked me as no.1, I may be in Los Angeles (Clippers), if they elect not to trade with Bobcats. You seem it was all planned to be here and I'l stay here and help this ballclub to be a contender in the near future.
Seems like the Bobcats was trying to build a team, not yet a team but already slowly breaking apart.
"Don't worry, before the season start, I will make some move. And if I can find a way to play with guy, I rather have a team of undrafted, unproven guys who will give 100% every game no matter if we lose or win," Coach Bickerstaff said.

Personally, I don't like that of trading ALL the team, it's unrealistic.
Trade 4-5 players, no more!
Wed Dec 22, 2004 4:10 am
yeah its not that realistic but as they said do what you want to do and i'm gonna give you credit on how you trade those players to get the players you want.
this dynasty reminds me of Donatello gamecube dynasty. il check this bro and hope you will continue this and will not stop just after few games.
Wed Dec 22, 2004 6:35 am

so it means that i tried to be fair not in real life trade but as in NBA live trade. plus doing a fantasy draft will only messed other teams.
thanks for the comment.
and by the way yeah i somewhat stole this idea from donatello but put other players that has yet to develop and not purely rookies. also again i started the dynasty first before trading players while he trade first before entering a dynasty mode.
