This is a GM dynasty, The Association will be started from the Beginning of the Season. I will be focusing on all personal interactions, off the court stuff and basically everything that is involved in a running an NBA team. I hope to stick with one team for a very long time. It will have supporting characters just like any other story. I hope you will enjoy it and thank you for viewing this dynasty.

It was one sunny morning as the sunlight coming from the sun is penetrating my small apartment. I quickly rose and fixed my bed, went to the bathroom with 2 steps only, yes two steps, that's how my small my apartment is. I looked at the mirror, asking will I be living my whole life in this small apartment? Cannot I improve my status in life? I then washed my face and proceed to eat my breakfast.

I originally dreamed to be an NBA player, I tried to do it, actually I even became a varsity player in my college life. I don't have the skills though to be a legit NBA player. So I decided to just study very hard and someday become an Assistant Coach or better yet, a Coach. If Spoelstra did it, then I can do it. I just need to work hard and I will be a well-known coach.

I was watching old NBA highlights of legends like Patrick Ewing, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, & many more, when my phone rang. I wondered who would call me in this hour?! I quickly grabbed my phone and an unknown number is shown, at first I was hesitating to answer it as I don't know who it is, however I think no one would call me just to make my life more miserable so I picked it up and our conversation started.

Hello is this Edric Crystal?

Yes this is him, who are your sir?

I believe you know me, I am Herb Simon.

Herb Simon?! The owner of the Indiana Pacer?!

Yes that's me who else do you think owns the Pacers?

None, I am just amazed that someone like you will call me.

We have something to talk about come to my office here in Indiana as soon as you can.

Sir, I don't have enough budget to buy a plane ticket to Indiana...

(His doorbell rang)

Sir Herbert, I have gotten the ticket I will be going to the airport as soon as I can, but may I know what will we be talking about?

As I have said Edric I will be discussing it to you personally in my office, so pack your things and quickly come here.

I quickly went to my rusty old closet and took my old bag, inserted all the essential things that I will be needing in my trip to Indiana, I was done packing, I quickly went outside and called a taxi. The driver and I have had a small conversation until we reached the Sikorsky Memorial Airport. I paid him with a tip and went inside the airport, I got my bag checked, I showed my ticket and finally was allowed to go inside the plane. I sat at the middle part of the plane waiting for other passengers to settle down. after an hour the plane finally took off, Im looking at the sky, asking myself if this is the moment I have been waiting for, the moment that will change my life....

At long last, I arrived in my destination, Indianapolis in Indiana. I wonder what lies ahead in my journey in this place. I immediately stepped down and looked at the beauty surroundings of Indianapolis. I was awe of the environment, it is active, friendly, and most of all exciting! My phone is ringing, I answered it and it was Herbert.

Edric, someone will be picking you up just stay put and I will give you the signal when to go outside.

Understood sir, bye.

I dropped the call and immediately went to the mall inside the airport. I saw very good products. They do make high quality things. It was already 12:30 PM and I am starving. I went to Mcadoodle to buy some Mcaburger just to fill my stomach. My phone is ringing again, I answered it.

Edric, go outside now my assistant is waiting for you, he will bring you here in my office.

Ok sir, im on my way outside.

As I finished talking I was lost of where am I. I can't seem to find the exit to this large mall. I asked and asked for directions, I bet the assistant and sir Herbert is already mad for my delay of arrival. After circling the whole mall, I was finally able to exit the airport. I saw the assistant and I apologize for the delay of my arrival. He said it was fine and he asked me to get inside the car now as the talks we will do is urgent. I see however, a beggar, I still have my McaBurger with me because I didn't have the time to eat it as I was already in panic mode during that time. I went to the beggar and talked to him.

My friend here's a burger to fill your empty stomach.

The travel took 1 hour as the office of sir Herbert was farther than I expected. The assistant escorted me to the office of sir Herbert and left me there. Herbert greeted me.

You must be Edric Crystal am I right?

Yes sir, may I know what will we be talking about today?

Yes I do sir, will I be the Head Coach?!

Unfortunately no, but I have another job for you if you would accept it?

I would like you to be the General Manager of the team, I saw your resume and I saw your an intelligent person, I believe you can fulfill this position and you can help Indiana to become contenders, and eventually champions.

Sir I would gladly accept that! I believe I can fulfill the role of GM because I have almost all knowledge about the players in the NBA and I will try to build this team as contenders and champions as you said.

Very well, you will start tommorrow, get some rest. I purchased an hotel room just for you, it's number is 527, now vanish in my sight.

I slowly exited the room and took a taxi to the hotel where the said room was. I walked to the front desk, asked for the keys. I took the elevator and went to the 5th floor. I walked through the long hallway and finally found the room 527 Herbert was talking about. I inserted the key, it fitted and it opened the door. I dropped my things in the floor, didn't even bother to dress and just dived to the bed. It felt comfortable, it felt new and it was soft. It was contrast to my bed in my old apartment which was old and hard that you can't even sleep comfortably on it. I positioned myself in the bed and closed my eyes, thinking what lies ahead for me as my first day as the GM of the Indiana Pacers.

I woke up early, eager to see the team that I will be handling for many years to come. I got into my new car and went straight to the Bankers Life Fieldhouse. There I met the Pacers Coach, Mr. Frank Vogel. I greeted him and he gave me a nod in return. I watched the plays of the team, I believe coach and the players communicate well, they seem to have a strong chemistry into each other. During the break practice I talked to Coach Frank.

Coach Frank, how's the team? Can they handle our season opener?

It's going well Edric, I believe we can win that Season Opener against the Raptor, we do have a pretty good chance.

Very well Coach, I hope you continue the work you have been doing for the team.

Will do Edric, looking forward to work with you.

(Coach Vogel went back to the bench and started the practice again)

I watched the practice and was impressed with Paul George, he seems to be improving day after day. I left the practice area and went down to the first floor through the elevator. There was a strange man looking at me. He was sitting in the lobby, I think he is a spy from the Raptors spying every move we make. I was afraid, I immediately went back to the Practice Area and sat on the bench. I was pale, I didn't know what to do. I guess I need to ask who was that guy. I asked Coach Vogel about it, he said that was the son of Sir Herbert. I don't know if Herbert is actually just looking at my decisions or am I not really the one having control of the team and I am just a placeholder in the General Manager Position. I was confused....

---- Several Hours Later ---
The Press Conference has started, I was awe with many flashing cameras, I think I am just not used to it. One of the press has asked me what will I do with the team. Do I plan on trading someone or keeping all and build through the draft.

I answered, Right now im happy with the team, I will see if I should make adjustments, but right now I believe we are already contenders.

Another Press asked, Do you think you can bring the Pacers to a Championship?

"Definitely I can, I believe I have the capabilities to guide them to a Championship, you know it's a combination of luck and intelligence."

A Third reporter asked, Paul George was doing pretty good when Danny Granger was gone, will you build around him?

"I guess I will, Danny Granger will stay in this team as long as he plays good and continues to contribute solid numbers."

That's all for the Press Conference thank you for coming, Herbert said.

I walked outside, still being met with flashes, I finally got to my office. I unpacked my things and saw my father.... he was my inspiration on where I am right now. I promised him to be a NBA Player. I guess he was the most important person in my life and I will be his living legacy. I went to the Practice Area. Talked to the team.

Ok team, I would like you to play physical against the Raptors, I have designed a play for you I guess it will be useful throughout the game next week.

(I gave the play to the team and they started to study it)

I want you to play hard alright?

Yes Sir! The whole team said.

Very good, now get back to practice and let's start to roll!

(They went back and was affected by my inspired mini-speech and worked harder than ever)

It was almost evening when the practice ended. I went home to my Hotel room but, I changed my clothes before diving into my bed, I can't sleep, so I watched some old Raptors highlights, it showed they also played physically, their play always focus on Gay and DeRozan, I wish that our own duo, Granger & George dominate the duo of the Raptors. I slept with one goal in mind. It is to win and to win BIG!
