Chapter 1: A New Era

I called a player meeting today, so I could meet the players who would make up the roster. James was the first to speak, naturally, as he is the leader of this team. He spoke in a deep, kind voice, and it comically seemed like it was coming from his beard.
"Nice to meet you, sir" he said, with all the other players agreeing in lower tones.
"Nice to meet all of you, too." I replied awkwardly. After this, we all shook hands, and the players headed off to shoot around. Coach Mchale stayed.
"I know you just got here, but there is one guy on the roster who needs to go." He said directly. This caught me off guard, as I have never seen someone so adamant about removing a player from a roster.
"Who?" I said strongly to express dominance.
"Royce, all he does is cause headaches."
"We did pick him in the lottery, why give up on him so early?"
"Look, i'm not trying to control the whole team, but do me a favor and see what we can get for him." Coach said, backing down a little. He then headed off to begin practice. I spun in my chair, and picked up the phone.

Hours later, I got a trade, but it did not include royce white....

Bobcats 1st rd pick, Bobcats 2nd rd pick Josh McRoberts, for Rockets 1st rd pick, rockets 2nd rd pick, and Chandler Parsons.
The reason I did this trade is mainly because I get the bobcats two picks. The first one can become Nerlens Noel or Shabazz Muhammad most likely, which pays off big later.

I am aware of the weak SF's on our team, and am trying to turn our multitude of PF's into a starting caliber SF. I am trying to incorporate Royce White into a deal like this two appease Coach Mchale, and have a more solid starting unit.

I make another trade, though I could not address the SF problem:

Bobcats 2nd rd pick, Royce White, and Jeremy Lin for Eric Bledsoe, and Lamar Odom.

This is a huge steal, and I will tell you why. With T-Rob starting at PF, all I needed was a backup PF for him, which I got (Lamar Odom). Now, Jeremy Lin is a solid floor general, but is simply not that athletic. Eric Bledsoe, a crazy athletic guard who can do it all, will fit much better into the offensively dominant rockets system.

After playing a months worth of games, I have noticed that we lost a lot of games against teams that have star/very good PF. (We lost to the hawks, blazers, grizz, and hornets). I have decided that I will trade for a very good defensive SF/PF. This will address the starting SF job and help against teams with strong PF's.

After going after Shawn Marion and Ron Artest, I gave free agency a quick look. I signed Michael Redd to a cheap 2yr deal. He is average defensively, but stretches the floor as he is a good sharpshooter.

After another month, there was a noticable improvement against teams with good forwards. We beat the Knicks, Raptors, and Thunder. We are 14-17 as of now. I am hoping for the 1st pick from cats for Nerlens Noel to round out our starting rotation and have a very thick presence in the paint defensively.

Chapter 1 End.
