Oakland, CA - New assistant coaches Dulani Askins and Glen Ishito worked with the players through Training Camp, with Askins focusing on athleticism and Ishito focusing on defense.

"Pietrus, Fisher, Biedrins, Richardson, and Cabarkapa have improved on their rebounding skills," Ishito noted. "I believe we will be better at defense this year; they've been hustling on defense."

Askins has also praised the Warriors' efforts. "Our big men, Biedrins, Taft, Foyle, and Cabarkapa have been running a lot in practice this week. I'm sure when they're on the court against the Hawks this week, they'll be ready."

During the first four weeks, Askins will be working to improve the athleticism of Andris Biedrins, while Ishito will be working with Dunleavy on his defensive abilities.

The Golden State Warriors will open their season with home games against the Hawks on November 2nd, and the Jazz on November 4th before they head on the road for three Eastern games against the Knicks, Bucks, and Bulls.

Oakland, CA - The Hawks showed that they were ready to play. So did the Warriors.

In a very close game, the Warriors entered the 4th quarter with a 70-66 lead, but the Hawks quickly took control of the 1st half of the 4th quarter, beginning with a 10-4 run and by the halfway point, the Warriors were clinging on to a 82-80 lead. Mike Montgomery hadn't noticed that Murphy was in foul trouble at 5 fouls, and was stunned that Murphy had fouled out with 6:21 in the 4th. With Diogu in the game, the Warriors kept driving into the paint to take a 88-82 lead, but the Hawks again refused to drop out, scoring the next 9 after that.

With 32 seconds to go, the Hawks led 98-97, after Biedrins fouled backup Hawks center N'Diaye, who made both free throws. The Warriors, coming out of a timeout, quickly scored on a Baron Davis layup with 25 seconds to go. Woodson and the Hawks called a timeout to bring the ball up to the frontcourt, but Baron Davis stole the ball to give the Warriors another possession. After being fouled, Baron hit 1 of 2 free throws to take a 100-98 for the Warriors.

A desperate Tyronn Lue quickly launched a 3-pointer and missed. Diogu grabbed the rebound and was immediately fouled. Out of anxiety, he missed both free throws. After the Hawks called another timeout, Josh Smith made a great clutch play, hitting on a jumper over Mike Dunleavy Jr. with 1.8 seconds to go.

Coming out of a timeout, Dunleavy inbounded to Baron Davis on the right side of the court, who hit a spectacular fadeaway over Lue immediately to give the Warriors a 102-100 lead with 0.2 seconds to go. Out of the time, the Hawks sent it in-bounds and the Warriors came up with the win.

Baron Davis was the Player of the Game, beginning the season with an early triple-double, with 35 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. Richardson had 26 points and 7 rebounds. Josh Smith of the Hawks had 28 points and 9 rebounds to lead the Hawks. The Warriors hit 47.6% on field goals, 25% on 3-pointers, and 60.7% from the line, while the Hawks hit 39.4% on field goals, 30.8% on 3-pointers, and 75.9% from the line.

Oakland, CA - The Warriors had a 4-point lead entering the 4th against the Hawks. It was no different against the Jazz.

The Warriors led 73-69, but couldn't take the lead for good for most of the 4th quarter. With 49.5 seconds to go, and the Warriors lead at 109-106, Baron Davis missed a key layup. Williams responded with a jumper on the other end. The Warriors called timeout and got Richardson the ball, who was immediately fouled. Richardson made both free throws. Then, Richardson intercepted a pass that was intended to Williams and was fouled while driving to the rim with 30.7 seconds left by Okur, who fouled out on that play. Richardson made both free throws to give the Warriors a 111-108 lead.

A anxious Utah team had Boozer drive to the basket, but his shot was rejected by Biedrins. The ball fell to Richardson, who was again fouled. He made both free throws to run the lead up to 113-108. The end of the game was a stunning blow for the Jazz, who witnessed Richardson shoot free throws each time they missed a shot. Even a last-second three-pointer did them no good. The Warriors take the win, 116-111.

Jason Richardson led the way for the Warriors with 38 points and 8 rebounds on 60% shooting, while Baron Davis joined with 25 points. Biedrins scored a career high of 16 points as well. Williams (32 points) and Kirilenko (27 points and 11 rebounds) led the way for the Jazz. The shooting %'s were close for both teams, as the Warriors shot 44.7% FG/35.3% 3pt/81% FT, and the Jazz shot 41.7% FG/34.8% 3pt/85.2% FT.

It's for GCN. I usually get multiplayer games for GCN since my cousins have it as well (so they'll have extra controllers for 4P). I'd have gotten it for PS2 if they had it too...I only have 1 controller for PS2.

New York, NY - The Warriors showed how they would play without Baron Davis.

Baron Davis left the game early in the 4th with 5 fouls, which began with a 79-66 Golden State lead, because of foul trouble. While the Warriors were able to pull the lead to 91-74, the Knicks stormed back to a 112-107 deficit with 44.4 seconds remaining. With the game in crunch time, Sweetney fouled Richardson, who made both free throws to take a 114-107 lead. Crawford quickly responded with a 3-pointer to bring it down to 114-110.

With the game closer than ever, the two teams exchanged quick missed baskets, with jumpers missed by Biedrins and Marbury. With time running low for the Knicks, Marbury fouled Richardson with 20.7 seconds to go, and Richardson made both free throws. Again, Crawford was sent to hit a quick 3, which he did, with 11.6 seconds to go. With Warriors back with the possession after a timeout, Fisher was quickly fouled by Marbury, who fouled out. Fisher made both to extend the lead to 118-113, but immediately afterwards, made a error in fouling James, who also made his two free throws.

With a few seconds to go, Fisher was fouled by Penny, and missed both shots. However, the Knicks had run out of timeouts, and Penny missed a 3-pointer at half-court to give the Warriors the break of the season. The final score: Warriors 118, Knicks 115.

Baron Davis led the way for the Warriors with 36 points in 35 minutes. Richardson added 31 points and 14 rebounds. Murpohy also got a double-double, with 17 points and 12 rebounds. The Knicks were led by Crawford's 41 points. Marbury added 21, and Sweetney received a double-double with his 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Milwaukee, WS - No contest.

The Warriors defeated the Bucks 109-98, in an uneven match between an undefeated team and a winless team. Starting the 4th up 68-59, the Bucks made a run even with Mason and Smith fouling out early in the 4th. Davis and Biedrins were also pulled out early of the game for the Warriors, both with 5 fouls. The Bucks made a run early on, cutting the lead down to 82-78, but the Warriors pulled away quickly. Mo Williams suffered a leg injury after Fisher collided with him, and the Bucks turned to their reserves. The game disintegrated into garbage time, as the Warriors led 101-92 with 2 minutes to go, and finished the game ahead 109-98.

The player of the game was once again Jason Richardson, with 33 points. Baron Davis scored 21 points, and Mo Williams led the Bucks with 19 points.

Chicago, IL - The Warriors played their first overtime game tonight.

Entering the 4th quarter for the first time trailing 80-75, the Warriors played their best basketball in the 4th quarter. With 1:13 left in the 4th, the Warriors led 116-113, forcing the Bulls to call a timeout. Diogu fouled Hinrich on one his successful drives, earning Hinrich an extra free throw. While that missed, Antonio Davis got the offensive rebound and nailed the short jumper to take the lead, 117-116.

Baron quickly ran back and drove to the basket, earning an easy dunk to take the lead 118-117 with 1:04 left to play. Chicago took another timeout, in which three Warrior starters on the sidelines: Murphy, Dunleavy, and Richardson, came back into the game after missing most of the 4th due to foul trouble with 5 fouls. Hinrich drilled an easy jumper at 59.4 seconds, and Richardson responded with a dunk on the other end with 51.7 seconds left. Hinrich then drilled a 3 to give Chicago a 122-120 lead.

The Warriors were held back on the perimeter on their next play with less than 40 seconds to go, but Jason Richardson was able to draw a foul on Antonio Davis. He made both free throws with 27.9 to play. Chicago then brought the ball back and was forced on the perimeter, and aggressive defense helped Baron steal the ball. Bringing the ball back, the Warriors attempted to run the clock before playing the last shot, but it was stripped by Kittles with 5 seconds to go. The half-court 3-pointer was then missed. The end of regulation ended with a 122-122 tie.

In overtime, the Warriors weren't so fortunate. Playing only part of overtime with the 3 starters in foul trouble, the Warriors were easily outhustled. The Warriors committed fouls out of frustration, and ended the game with a 146-134 loss.

Baron Davis' 47 points and Jason Richardson's 22 points were not enough to defeat the Bulls, who were led by Hinrich's 38, Curry's 35, and Chandler's 21.

Oakland, CA - The Knicks get their revenge on a great shooting night.

The Golden State Warriors, like in the Bucks game, blow their lead in the 4th, and unlike the Bucks game, it worked wonder for their opponents. The Knicks, down 87-81 at the end of 3rd, come up with a win after lack of defense and foul trouble by the Warriors, winning 127-120 after taking the lead halfway through the 4th and holding on till the end.

Marbury led the Knicks with 34 points and 10 assists, and was joined by Quentin Richardson's 27, Crawford's 24, and Sweetney's 21. Only 2 Warriors passed 20: Baron Davis with 46, and Murphy with 28. Murphy also added 12 rebounds.

Big 4th for the Knicks. Looks like you need some late game Defense and maybe a new set of sliders. BTW, Why is Joe Johnson on the Suns?

Joe Johnson's on the Suns since I didn't update rosters. I don't have the PC version and I just didn't bother with it.

Speaking of the Suns...

November 12, 2005

Phoenix, AZ - The Warriors' faceoff against the Pacific division leaders on a back-to-back proves to be an exciting one.

Down 79-68, the Suns hoped to make a run beginning the 4th quarter and they do, cutting the lead to 88-83. But the Warriors fought back with amazing plays in the paint, driving the lead back to 98-85, and then keeping it at 13 minutes later, at 108-95. However, the championship contenders weren't done yet. The Suns played great ball, with Nash and Amare leading the scoring bonanza, and went on a 14-4 run to cut the lead down to 112-109 with 27.1 seconds to go. After seeing the Warriors run down the clock, Johnson fouled Richardson, giving him two easy free throw conversions with 16.4 to go. After Hunter missed a jumper on the way back, he fouls Diogu, giving Diogu 2 free throws to seal the win at 116-109. Amare's 3 pointer near the end is no good.

Baron Davis led the Warriors with 30 points, and Jason Richardson followed with 26. Troy Murphy also snatched a double-double, with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Steve Nash led the Suns with 35 points. Shawn Marion and Amare Stoudemire also had big nights, with Marion getting 23 points and 8 rebounds, and Amare getting 24 points and 13 rebounds.

FG%: Warriors .512, Suns .412
3pt%: Warriors .450, Suns .500
FT%: Warriors .679, Suns .677

Oakland, CA - Despite another inconsistent 4th quarter, the Warriors come up with another win.

Leading 70-60 at the end of the 3rd quarter, the Warriors took out Murphy because of foul trouble, but with Diogu on the lineup, the Warriors went on a run to take a 88-71 lead. The huge lead was short-lived, however, as the Bulls went on a 13-2 run to cut the lead down to 90-84, and kept pressuring the Warriors to keep the game within reach, cutting the lead down to 99-95 with a minute to go. In the final half-minute, the Warriors kept their cool, as Antonio Davis and Nocioni missed the last two Bulls shots to keep the Warriors ahead 102-95.

Baron Davis, as usual, led the Warriors with 42 points. Richardson added 21. The Bulls were led by Gordon's 26 points.

FG%: Warriors .427, Bulls .430
3pt%: Warriors .409, Bulls .350
FT%: Warriors .630, Bulls .778
