TEAM TRANSACTIONS
THE SUNS SIGN KEDRICK BROWN
Image
Today the Phoenix Suns decided to sign Free Agent Kendrick Brown. We think that he would fit in the Fast Pacing Phoenix Suns and would be a good help off the bench. " it feels good to play for a team, and ateam with ig hopes!" Kedrick told the media today. Mike D'Antoni presented to Kedrick his jursey and we would see him in action against Atlanta Hawks!

THE SUNS SIGN ROGER MASON JUNIOR
Image
Suns decided to sign Mason right after they've signed Kedrick Brown. Roger would be a great addition to Phoenix bench which needed improvment until Roger came. Now the bench feels they would play really good with Roger in P town! We'll see Roger in action also against Atlanta!

Both teams decided to make this trade, because the Suns already have a good big man and needed some improvement on sg position. You'll see Iverson and Iguodala in action this week vs LAL

BOX SCORE

The game started off very close. About at the halfway mark in 1st quarter the Suns started to pull away. Nobody was even expecting Atlanta to come back. But the underdogs weren’t ready to give up yet. They started to pressure big men, and stole the ball a few times. Then they were able to capitalize on their shooting. The Suns were happy to go to their bench after the end of the 1st quarter up by 7, 28-21.

And the finish…Beautiful alley-oops play by Nash & The Matrix

In the second quarter the Suns were eager to finish the Hawks and never look back. But that didn’t happen. Atlanta Hawks was confident of getting the W in this game. Tyronn Lue and Josh Childress were the main thing why the Hawks were being close to Phoenix. Shawn Marion and the Suns weren’t ready to give up either. Nash decided to do what he does best, passing, he made a few good passes to an open man at the 3 point line and the thing you would here is swoosh. The Quarter ended with Suns on top of Hawks 51-45.

KEY PLAYERS AT THE HALF
The Key player for Phoenix was Shawn Marion
The Key player for Atlanta was Tyronn Lue
(Sorry I forgot to take the screenshot)

In the 3rd quarter Suns were overconfident. They came out relaxed and definitely not ready to play. Atlanta was ready to play. Lue made a couple of good baskets and the teams were tied at 53 all. A missed shot by Quentin Richardson let the other team have a fast break, which they scored on. Mike D’Antoni wasn’t happy he took a time-out. In the time out he told his players to switch to 3-2 Zone Defense and score some inside baskets. They did so, but it wasn’t enough. The quarter ended with Hawks on top of Suns 82-81.

The 4th quarter started of fairly well. Both teams made some baskets. Lue got 4 fouls really quick and had to sit until 3 minutes in 4th quarter. But Tony Delk stepped up big for Atlanta he scored about 12 points in 4th quarter. At 2:00 minute mark Atlanta led 99-93.The Suns had the ball and scored a 3 pointer (Jim Jackson). Then Suns quickly fouled Lue, which hit both of his free throws. Nash drove inside and right at the end passes to Marion who was open at 3-point line. 99-101. Then Suns fouled Jason Collier and he only made 1out of 2. Then the Suns passed the ball to “Q” and he scored a 3 (Screenshot below). Atlanta gave the ball to Harrington. He scored 2. Then the Suns quickly ran a play where Nash pitched it out to Stoudamire and he scored. Atlanta had their last shot, but this time Tyronn Lue wasn’t able to score and they headed to OT.

“ LEAVE IT TO THE MATRIX”- that’s what should be the newspaper heading tomorrow. Shawn had 16 of his 42 points in OT, it’s a new record. Most points scored by a player in OT is 16 and it’s by Shawn Marion of Phoenix Suns. The Suns won the game 130-124.

BOX SCORE

Stoudamire tipped the ball to Nash and we are under way. Suns scored couple of good baskets inside. “The Answer” answered with two 3-pointers. Both teams were playing good basketball, until both teams started to use their bench. But the Suns bench isn’t very strong and they started trailing by 5 points. Coach Mike D’Antoni took a time out and explained to the players that they need to move their feet and get good looks at the basket, he then switched to 2-3 Zone Defence. But still this wasn’t enough, the players headed to their benches, Philly up top by 8, 35-27.

In the 2nd quarter Suns came out and ready to play. Philly was very confident that they should win this game. All the starters were at the start of 2nd quarter. The Suns passes the ball a few times to Marion who scored on all of them. Jim O’Brien took a time-out and told the players to pressure Marion. The Suns knew it and whenever Marion got the ball he passed it to the open man who knocked down the shot. Suns were really happy with their performance in the 2nd quarter, heading into the locker room for half time leading by 4, 57-53.

KEY PLAYERS AT THE HALF

The third quarter started off fairly well. Both teams scored some baskets and the game was close. But again the Phoenix bench was bad. They didn’t score a lot of their points. The crowd was on their feet every time Iguodala dunked on a fast break. Mike D’Antoni too ka time out and put all his starters back in the game. But it was almost the end of the 3rd quarter, so the Suns went to their bench down by 5, 79-84.

The 4th quarter was OK. Philly had their bench start in 4th quarter and the Suns took full advantage of it. They scored from the perimeter and inside. The only bad news for Phoenix was that Steve Nash had 5 fouls and had to sit until 1:30 in 4th quarter. The Suns and 76ers were close at the end of 4th quarter but the Suns pulled out the win from Philly 117-111.

NEW JERSEY
C Nenad Kristic
PF Josh Collins

KEY MATCHUP:
STEVE NASH VS. JASON KIDD

The match started with both teams being close to each other. Vince and Marion were really good out there. Both teams were close as the 1st quarter ended with NJ leading by 1, 29-28. In the next quarter New Jersey didn’t play their best basketball, and Phoenix took advantage of it and scored some three pointers and played good Defense during the 2nd quarter. Both teams went to the locker room with Phoenix on top of New Jersey by 8, 65-57.

KEY PLAYERS AT THE HALF
Image

The third quarter was not a good quarter for Suns at all. Richardson and Carter scored a lot of points that quarter, and some players from the bench scored, too. Nets fans finally stooped booing and started cheering because their team finally was leading. Mike D’Antoni took a time out and told the players to make Nets move their feet on Defense. The Suns started to play a bit better, but it wasn’t enough to stop Vinsianity and the Nets from only losing by 2 at the end of the 3rd quarter! In the 4th quarter both teams played very good and were good at both ends of the court. If it wasn’t for a great game by Carter the Suns would have taken an easy home win, but the Nets didn’t give up until the end, and at the end the score was tied 117-117.We needed an extra period to decide the winner. In Overtime both teams were close. It was 27 seconds left on the clock. The Nets were going for the final shot and were waiting for a good shot. But the Suns weren’t sleeping either, they played, they were pressuring Nets and Q made Richardson take a bad shot. Marion picks up the rebound and throws a Touch Down pass to Amare who was already at the end of the court. Amare easily went by Kristic and made a super dunk with 1 second left. Of course the Nets couldn’t score in 1 second and the Suns won 140-134.

KEY MATCHUP:
Amare Stoudamire VS. Eddy Curry

Both teams were ready to play at the start of the game. Both teams were playing very good and were very aggressive on the defensive and offensive sides. At the end of the 1st quarter the Suns were leading by 1, 25-24.The second quarter was really close. Both teams weren’t ready to give up. Both teams headed into their locker rooms with the Suns on top of Bulls by 2, 49-47.

KEY PLAYERS A THE HALF
PHOENIX: Amare Stoudamire with 14 points
CHICAGO: Kirk Hinrich with 15 points.

In the 3rd quarter Suns were playing slightly better than Chicago Bulls. Suns finally decided to pressure Eddy Curry and not let him score very easy inside. But Curry was still able to score a couple of baskets. The Suns were rebounding on defense after every shot Bulls missed and scored some fast break points. In the 4th quarter both teams were really close at about 1:00 mark. The Suns had the ball and were able to tie the game 100-100. The Bulls took a Time-out and were going for a perfect shot. The Suns were playing good defense and forced Curry to step outside the line. The Suns had the ball with 0:40 left. They will score on the nice hook shot by Amare. Bulls didn’t have any time-outs and were forced to score without a play. They gave the ball to Gordon who tried to score a three pointer but misses; Shawn Marion picks up the rebound and quickly passes the ball to Nash. Bulls foul him and that’s 2 more points for Suns. Bulls missed their final shot at the buzzer and Suns win it 104-100.

KEY MATCHUP:
Amare Stoudamire VS. Zydrunas Ilgauskas

Both teams started off pretty close. The Suns were really hot from outside and took the lead really quickly. Both teams went to their benches in 1st quarter Suns on top by 6, 38-32.The second quarter was even worse for Cleveland. Suns just couldn’t stop nailing the 3’s and had a commanding lead at the break! 68-53.

KEY PLAYERS A THE HALF
PHOENIX: Shawn Marion with 11 points
CLEVELAND: LeBron James with 18 points

In the third quarter the Suns were horrible. They missed many shots and Cleveland scored a lot. By the end of the third quarter the Suns were leading only by 3. In the third quarter the teams were tied. At about :30 mark in 4th quarter Cleveland had the ball. The score was 102-104 Suns. McInnis got the ball and tried to kill some clock. He passed the ball to James and James makes a lay-up at the buzzer of shot clock. The Suns got the ball and passed it to Marion. With about .7 on the clock Marion took a shot…and…he is fouled. He misses the first one. But he nails the second one and Suns win 105-104.
