[Hova´s]SACRAMENTO KINGS DYNASTY 3rd game update !

Postby hova- on Fri Mar 18, 2005 11:39 pm

Since theres no Kings Dynasty (at least not listed in the thread at the top) I will try to do one.

I´m not that good at the posting commands so it would be nice if you could tell me where to place commands ( for example Img ).

And I won´t update every day I think cuz I have holidays and won´t stay at my comp while the sun is shining.

I will start when someone has answered my questions about post commands.
And if I am too stupid for that just close :wall:

//edit: k i got it. Lets go

I don´t play more than 1 game per day sometimes i even don´t game
1 game so we´ll see about updates.
I listed the bench with the most important as 1st and the garbage time players at last.

Our 1st game will be on Tuesday the 2nd of November in Dallas.
I don´t plan any trades at the moment but we will see.
I trained my team on conditioning and offense and some did pretty well.
So we lookin forward to the 1st game in this season.

SACRAMENTO vs DALLAS
Image Image

TURNOVER KINGS GET BOMBED OFF THE COURT!

Even two buzzerbeaters of Mike Bibby could not help, Dallas blows Sacramento with 40 points.

"We knew it would be hard to integrate such a lot of new guys but today we were showen how hard we have to work in this season" ( M. Bibby)

The Kings began quite well but struggeled with turnovers already in the 1st quarter. Bibby showed some nice drives and Kenny Thomas inspired his team with a great dunk, while Dallas scored from outside with Finley and Josh Howard. Dirk Nowitzki did not score one point in the 1st quarter.
It ended with Bibby´s buzzerbeater and Sacramento trailed by 4.

In the 2nd quarter Peja Stojakovic had a good run scoring 4 in a row.
But Jason Terry had 2 threepointer and even 3 steals to keep Dallas in front. Nowitzki added 6 of his 14 point in the 2nd quarter.

After the break the Kings came up with some 2nd Chance points because of Brian Skinner´s nice rebounding. He finished the game with amazing
23 rebounds.
But Jason Terry nailed 3 shots in a row and the Kings could not reach the Mavs. The 3rd quarter also ended with a buzzer beater by Bibby from Half Court.

With a comfortable 20 point lead the Mavs gave some minutes to Darrel Armstrong and Devin Harris. Both added 31 points to get the easy win over the Kings, that had 28 (!) turnovers and some problems defensively.

Player of the game was J. Terry with 32 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals and 6 assists.
Josh Howard added 21 while Nowitzki had 17 boards and 14 points. Darrel Armstrong added 18 points but most of them in the garbage time.
Kings Topscorer was Mike Bibby with 22 followed by Peja Stojakovic with 17. Bibby also added 10 rebounds for a double-double.

NBA News

Today, Wednesday the 3rd of November the General Managers of the Kings and the Magic have announced a trade, which will send Stacey Augmon to Sacramento in exchange for Kevin Martin, who will play for Orlando.

ImageImage
Augmon averages 8.3 points, 3.3 Rebounds, 1.6 Assists and 1 Steal per game in his 13 years in the NBA.

ImageImage
Kevin Martin plays his 1st season in NBA and has only played 12 minutes having 1 Point, 1 Assist and 1 Rebound.

Experts think that this is a good deal for both sides. The Kings needed a good defender and also a well experienced guy. Augmon is that for sure. Orlando needed some cap space, and also got a rookie with a future supporting their run& gun b-ball, while Augmon is 36 years old.

Thx

I think Dallas is hard to face cuz they can shoot very well and constantly.
San Antonio wont be easy. I think theyre even better than Dallas.

A good start and a nice presentation, too bad for the blowout... but hey, Dallas is Dallas, right?

Kevin Martin is young and upcoming while Stacey Augmon is more like the Rusted man than the Plastic Man nowadays... I know the Kings need a backup SF but I think you could have pulled off a better swap.

Good luck on your dynasty , friend!

SACRAMENTO vs SAN ANTONIO

Preview

Tomorrow San Atonio will face the Kings at home for the 1st game this season. Sacramento lost his 1st game with 40 points and should be motivated to show that they can play.

Before the Game

We feel confident. Sacramento had a tough game yesterday while we fully concentrated on today´s game. I think we win this one, maybe not as high as Dallas but we are able to play tough D to keep the Kings off the basket. (T. Duncan)

This will be a hard one I suppose. The Spurs are even stronger than Dallas in my opinion. We have to play smart basketball to keep them off the glass and to score easy buckets and draw fouls. The Spurs play good Defense so it won´t be easy to get open shots..(M. Bibby)

STARTERS

Image M. Bibby G Image T. Parker G
Image C. Mobley G Image B. Barry G
Image P. Stojakovic F Image B. Bowen F
Image K. Thomas F Image R. Horry F
Image B. Skinner C Image T. Duncan C

Comment

Theres one question the Kings have to answer but they can´t.
Who in this team is able to guard T.D. ?
As Brad Miller will miss at least the next 6 games there are only Brian Skinner and Greg Ostertag on the Center position.
Skinner is a passable Rebounder but cannot really defend Duncan.
Ostertag is a Center for a Zonedefense. This is not really effective against the Spurs because they have some good shooters.
If Sacramento manages it to defend and to keep T.D. off the board they may win. If not, well let´s see.

//sry about the pics i didnt get them right. Recap will follow but i dunno when exactly.

Thx for your hope, but its quite hard without Brad Miller and he wont come back that fast. (as i play ca. the same number of games like in real time and they say it will take 5-6 weeks....)

btw your Dynasty is great. The best one I read here. ( others are also cool though)

SPURS WIN OVER KINGS !

"Tonight we played the Champion and lost clearly"

If you ask Mike Bibby for reasons of the Kings´ loss tonight he just says "Tonight we played the Champion and lost clearly".
And if you try to explain that Detroit is the Champion Bibby just says:
I´m talking about this season not the last....."

But first things first:
The game started with a run of Predrag Stojakovic, who scored the first three baskets of the game. The Kings led by 7 after 8 minutes when Tony Parker, who had an awful night got out due foul trouble. Manu Ginobili came into the game and hit two threes in a row.
Both teams shot very well in the 1st quarter but the Spurs little better.
Bowen had 7 points and 3 assists while Tim Duncan played nice D and had 3 blocks. Best player of the 1st quarter was Stojakovic with 15 points and 3 of 3 from beyond the arc. Brian Skinner added 8 boards and 4 assists while M. Bibby scored 9 points and dished out 3 assists.
The 1st quarter ended with 35-30 for the Spurs. Kenny Thomas had to leave the court with an arm injury, but came back in the 2nd.

The 2nd quarter started with a 3 pointer by Brent Barry. Barry started to get a shooting touch which he kept through the whole quarter scoring 15 points with unbelievable 5/5 from the 3 point line. Tim Duncan also started to show his abilities with pulling 8 boards. This should be another career game for T.D.. Only Mike Bibby had some good moves and scored 10 points and Kenny Thomas had 4 points and 5 rebounds. Peja Stojakovic had a disappointing 2nd quarter with zero in all categories.
At the half the Spurs led by 8.

Both teams kept it low in the 3rd quarter with one exception: Tim Duncan.
He had 10 points and 6 rebounds and amazing 5 blocks and did not allow the Kings to score any easy points. Kenny Thomas was best Sacramento scorer with 8 but you could notice that the nice defense of the Spurs kicked the Kings. The game was almost over so. Brent Barry had 8 points this quarter.

As the Spurs led by 15 they did not do very much offensively and kept defending. Only Tim Duncan ( suprise! ) had a great quarter scoring 9 and pulling off 11 boards. Mike Bibby tried to inspire his team with some crazy plays but his 8 points were not enough. The Kings lose to a Spurs team, which is a serious candidate for the NBA Champion this year with a Tim Duncan in a MVP condition.

Tim Duncan was surely named Player of the game with 29 points, 25 rebounds (11 off. boards) and 9 blocks.
Brent Barry had an amazing touch shooting 6 of eleven from downtown combining for 30 points. Ginobili and Bowen both added 14 and Robert Horry had 12 rebounds.

The Kings best player was again Mike Bibby with 29 points, a good shooting from the field(50%) and 4 assists.
Brian Skinner did a good job at the board with 23.
Peja Stojakovic had 19 points with 15 in the 1st quarter.
Again the Kings had very many turnovers and a bad 3 point touch.

SACRAMENTO ( 0-2 ) vs HOUSTON ( 1-2 )
Image Image

Preview

The Sacramento Kings match the Houston Rockets in the Toyota Center tonight. The Kings want to end their Texas trip with a win to show that they can take it on the road while Houston needs every win at home to keep it up in the strong South West Division.

Before the game

We need a win tonight this is very important. It´s hard to start the season with a loss streak so we will try everything to end this one. ( M. Bibby)

This won´t be hard. The Kings struggeled last two games vs two teams we are equal to. I think this will be a win. ( T. McGrady )

STARTERS

Image Image Bob Sura
Image Image David Wesley
Image Image Tracy McGrady
Image Image Juwan Howard
Image Image Yao Ming

The Kings have to do without K. Thomas from the start because of an lil injury. He might come off the bench. C. Williamson starts as Power Forward.

Comment

The Rockets go into this game very self-confident. In statements of McGrady or other players you can here that. But they are thinking too negative about Sacramento. Houston just won one game this season.and that was vs the Raptors, surely not the best team. The Kings had some difficult games vs two teams that play around the Championship. Houston has some problems. T-Mac shoots too much, Yao didnt play well this season.
This might be an exciting matchup and a really balanced game.

I would advise to not post starters' pics after each game, or your dynasty will be very hard to load, even for non 56k users. Take it from a guy who learned this the hard way.

SACRAMENTO ( 0-2 ) vs HOUSTON ( 1-2 )
Image Image

THE KINGS ARE IN THE HOUSE!

Eddie House leads Kings to win over Houston. Bibby out with sore elbow.

Yes , it was definetely a game for the role players of the Kings. Without Kenny Thomas and Mike Bibby, who got hurt at the beginning of the 1st quarter Sacramento showed their strong bench.
The game started with some easy layups and freethrows of Bibby. But after a drive against Yao Bibby could not play further more with a pain in his right elbow. He was out for the game after scoring 8 points. Tracy McGrady and David Wesley both had a good start and sticked together for 18 points. When both got into foul trouble Ryan Bowen stepped into game. He played one minute and had to leave because of an injury at his finger. Eddie House had two steals and Cuttino Mobley 5 points to keep the Kings up to trailing just 8 points without Mike Bibby. " We were shocked but just promised each other to win this one without him", Eddie House said after the game.

The Kings did not come strongly into the 2nd missing 5 in a row. Jon Barry scored 4 points to give the Rockets a 12 point lead. But the Kings came back. Stojakovic had a run and scored 9 in a row and Corliss Williamson had 8 points and 4 boards to draw. T-Mac did just play 3 minutes in the 2nd due foul trouble. Yao had 6 points and 3 rebounds but the 2nd quarter was the one of Sacramento. At the half the Rockets led by 7 but did not play smart basketball fouling a lot.

At the start of the 2nd half Houston felt asleep. They played lazy basketball and McGrady had a one man show with 10 points. The Kings got lots of freethrows since Houston fouled 9 times in the 3rd quarter. And it was the time of Eddie House. "Cuttino said i should do something cause we need a good point guard", "well i tried my best", House grinned later. He did some amazing drives and a impossible shot plus and1. 9 points in 5 minutes his numbers. When he went to bench Stacey Augmon came in as a point guard(!). And he really showed that he is still the Plastic man not the Rusted man. He scored 11 points in this quarter. Bob Sura could not stop him and got into foul trouble. Mike James stepped in and nailed two threepointer but Houston lost control and Sacramento had the moment on their side. They outscored the Rockets with 37-27 in the 3rd and led by 3 now.

The 4th was close but the role players did it for the Kings. While Houston got their most points of T-Mac and Wesley the Kings scored with Peja and "Big Nasty" Williamson. David Wesley had 10 points in the 4th, same for Stojakovic and Williamson. McGrady added 8. But Eddie House and Cuttino Mobley played nice backcourtbasketball and had one steal after antoher resulting in breaks and easy baskets. House had 6 steals in this game and Mobley finally arrived in Sacramento with 21 points 3 steals and 4 assists. When the Kings led by 5 with 2:50 one the clock Predrag Stojakovic had two from beyond the arc. McGrady countered with 5 points for a lil man-to-man battle. But with one minute left the Rockets fouled Brian Skinner, who had a good game with 9 points and 13 rebounds. He made both and the game was over: 127-117 for the Kings.

The Kings had 5 players with 20 plus points but the Player of the game was Eddie House : He inspired his team with nice moves and had 20 points 6 steals and 3 assists. Predrag Stojakovic scored 24 points, Corliss Williamson 20 and Stacey Augmon made 13 points 3, assists in only 8 minutes.(!)
The Rockets´ best player was Tracy McGrady scroing 30.
Houston shot better from the field with almost 47% but they gave Sacramento 46 freethrows which were hit with 87%. The bad defense was Houston´s main problem. David Wesley added 19 points and Jon Barry 15. Yao had again a inconspicuos game with only 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Juwan Howard added 17 boards but scored weak. Houston did not deserve the win because of their defense but the Kings know that theirs is not the best, too.

I like it , it's a good read, keep it up (Y)

Maybe you should distinguish between the quarters in your recap, with the score after each one, so that it is easier to read. Not Necessary, though.
