Postby Boyk on Sun Oct 31, 2004 8:40 pm

Ok here it is.
I enjoyed playing with the Bucks in last years live so i thought i'd take em again.

We concentrated on Defense in training camp and some had pretty good improvements but others also improved in other areas.

Settings:
Superstar
10Mins Quarters 12min sims
FGreps Sliders
29 game season
7-7-7-7

2005 Roster:

Starting 5:
C: Joe Smith
Pf: Keith Van Horn
Sf: Desmond Mason
Sg: Michael Redd
Pg: Mike James
__________________
C: Dan Gadzuric
F: Marcus Haislip
F: Toni Kukoc
G: Erick Strickland
G: Maurice Williams
F: Zaza Pachulia
C: Zendon Hamilton
IR
G: TJ Ford
C: Daniel Santiago

Team Assessment:
Up-front were pretty weak(Van Horn is to blame, hes so soft) and not exactly tall either.
We'll see how long Van Horn lasts before i trade him.

Were hoping TJ Ford can get back to full strength as soon as possible.

Bucks 2004-2005 Opener

Bucks @ Celtics

J.Smith vs R.Lafrentz
K. Van Horn vs M.Blount
D.Mason vs R.Davis
M.Redd vs P.Pierce
M.James vs G.Payton

Well, the season did not start out the way we had hoped for.
We were outplayed by the Celtics 3 big guns in Pierce,Davis and Payton combining for 75 points.

The Final Score was Celtics 100 - Bucks 78

Michael Redd was our real main scoring threat as he had 23pnts on 8-19 shooting and was 5-11 from downtown.
Keith Van Horn had 14pnts 4rebs in 22mins(due to foul trouble)
Next game we play the defending champions, The Detroit Pistons.
this will be tough, hopefully our defense is a little better than what it was vs the Celtics.

Team News:
Its been rumoured the Bucks have made an offer to Kendall Gill.
More detailed information will be posted in the next few days.

yer im on ps2, i seem to enjoy playing dynasties on ps2 rather than pc.
i use pc for the online leagues like ASA :)

anyway, i played the Pistons, but forgot to right down the damn stats

from what i remember it was pretty close all the way, but the Pistons beat me by 6 points 88-82 in the end.
Michael Redd had 20pnts 5rebs 4asts
and Joe Smith was a stud with 13pnts 14rebs 5asts 3blks.

Redd also held Rip to 8pnts on 2-12 shooting, but he had 6rebs 7asts also.

I couldnt sign Kendall Gill coz well i had no cap space lol, i completely forgot about it when i offered.

btw- Wassup Doug, aint talked to u in ages, i hardly ever use msn anymore bro.

Team News:
Im looking to move Keith Van Horn people, for a stronger bigger pf, im gonna try not get Randolph again, no matter how much i want to lol.
What do yous think??

i think u should move desmond mason and or toni kukoc because u should play keith at small and sum one else at power. i love d mase in real life but keith is a great player in this years game he can shoot from long range and post up well on smaller players and hit the hook shot. so i say trade someone else for big zach.

New Jersey Nets @ Milwaukee Bucks

Jason Collins - Dan Gadzuric
Alonzo Mourning - Joe Smith
Richard Jefferson - Desmond Mason
Eric Williams - Michael Redd
Jason Kidd - Mike James

The Bucks who are still looking for their first win of the season, came out very strong defensively and the score was 4-2 Bucks 4 minutes int othe game.
Both teams started to get a something goping on offense but the Nets were too good in that department as they lead 22-16 at the first break.
the 2nd quarter started out completley different, both teams were stroking it from the field and lead to a good offensive quarter for both teams. Michael Redd was feelin it as he had hit 8 of his 13 shots for 20 points in the first half. Zo was the Nets main man with 11pnts 7rebs.

The start of the third saw the Nets jump out to a quick 9 point lead, but the Bucks made a nice little comeback and managed to take a 5 point lead on a 3 from Michael Redd and Toni Kukoc.
But then it all changed, with about 3mins left and the Bucks steaming, Toni Kukoc went up for a block on Mourning, and came down hurt and holding his wrist.
more info on his injury after.
Anyway the Nets went on a 9-0 run to close out the quarter and take a 4 point lead.
The Nets came out firing in the 4th and rushed out to a 16 point lead, but Michael Redd hit a longe 3 and made a nice move to the basket to cut it back down to 11. Maurice Williams also made a nice steal and a long pass to Desmond Mason for a breakaway dunk.
It was back and forth from there and despite getting back as close as 1 point we fell short in the end 102-93.

Player Of The Game:
Alonzo Mourning 17pnts 12rebs 4blks 8-11FG's

Bucks Stat Leaders:
Michael Redd 33pnts 5rebs 3asts 12-24FG's 6-11 3pntFG's
Joe Smith 16pnts 14rebs 5-10FG's
Keith Van Horn 13pnts 9rebs 6asts 27mins
Desmond Mason 10pnts 7rebs 3asts 6TO's 5PF's

Injury Report:
Toni Kukoc will miss a weeks action due to a sprained wrist.

The Bucks play at the Nuggets next and are still trying to find there first win.

Team news:
Keith Van Horn 13.7ppg 7.3rpg 2.3apg
Desmond Mason 10.7ppg 5.0rpg 2.3apg

Who should i trade??
I am actually leaning towards moving Mason, hes playing well under expectations and his unability to hit jumpshots really hurts our gameplan.
If Mason is traded, what sort of player do i get???
I've been thinkin maybe Nene? or Abdur-Rahim possibely??

Team Scouting:
Felix Potts PF
21yrs old 6'10 259lbs
Potential: Good
Projected 5th Overall

FG:D 3pt:D- FT:D Ins.Scr:B- Dunk:B Steal:C- Block:D- O.Reb:D D.Reb:C
Pass:C O.Aware:D- D.Aware:D- Dribble:C- Quick:? Speed:? Jump:? Str:D- Sta:? Hard:A-

Gms Evaluation: His post game seems to be pretty decent with good ins. Scoring and dunking abilites. Decent ball handler and stealer for a PF, but needs improvement on Rebounding and his Strength is a little concerning.

We also scouted Paul Cato, a 7'1 Centre, more infop will be posted later.

Milwuakee Bucks @ Denver Nuggets

Well this was an ugly game for the Bucks from the word go.
The Nuggets were having there way with our defense and our offense was flat out disturbing!
Desmond Mason was 2-9, Van Horn 3-16 were the ugliest and despite a nice 21pnt 6ast 5reb game from Redd, he had 5TO's.
Denvers bench put 58 points on the board!
Can you beleive it, 58!!
Boykins was awesome with 22pnts 4asts, But Martin took POG honours with 15pnts 12rebs.

Bucks Stat Leaders:
Michael Redd 21pnts 6asts 5rebs 1blk 5TO's
Joe Smith 12pnts 9rebs
Mike James 11pnts 5rebs 2stls 6PF's
Dan Gadzuric 8pnts 4rebs 2blks 1stl 22mins

Desmond Mason and Van Horn were disgraceful. Mason 4pnts 2rebs 1ast 26mins 2-9FG's, Van Horn 6pnts 10rebs 3-16FG's 0-6 3PT's

Team News:
Desmond Mason has now been benched and the Bucks will start with the lineup of, Gadzuric,Smith,Van Horn,Redd,James.
Desmond Mason has also been placed on the Trade block and will be looked to being moved soon.
Keith Van Horn is also very close to it.

The Bucks face the Charlotte Bobcats next, and go in 0-4.

why would he release haslip?? hes better overall than fizer and can hit an open jumper when given the chance, he is also an exceptional dunker.

and in the trading business i think you should try n trade d mase and erick strickland for a good point guard, mike james is a good backup but not a starter in the league. you should try to get someone with an expiring contract so you can either sign him to be your starter again next season or let tj take the reigns back and gain money.

it seems everyone heartily dislikes desmond mason....but when i play as the bucks, he's my main guy.

actually, in my online league last year, i had both desmond mason and vince carter, and i chose to trade away vince because i liked mason so much.

so i'm just curious what you don't like about him....?

well he wants to trade van horn and for some reason this year i like him alot(hated him last year in the game) he can post up and hit hook shots as well as be a good shooter from the outside. d mase is great in the open court and for 20 foot jumpers i just think keith is more versatile then mason but i definetley think mase is a good player in the game

O and sorry about the haslip thing i didnt look on nba.com before i wrote that he shouldnt be released. him being released saddens me i liked him and whoever picks him up and if he gets a chance to play will be plesantly surprised by what he can do. at games people really enjoyed watching him in garbage time and he always contributed when he needed to during games coming off the bench. he could get tough rebounds and putbacks hes still young and if he gets a post move he could be a good player off the bench

No i cant, i have no cap bro.
I actually released brevin knight in season coz i forgot to put him on bobcats before i started, so i dont have the room

I played the Bobcats and by god it was horrid.
i lost like 98-71 and no-one could hit anything.
Redd,Mason,Van Horn each had 12, it took van horn 22 shots.
Mason was actually quite good off the bench though.

I lost the stats i write down, sorry guys.

Team info:
The Bucks sent an offer to the Seattle Supersonics involving Radmanovic + Murray for Van Horn + Strickland + 2nd rnd pick.
Im expecting them to decline, if they do, i shall add toni kukoc instead of strickland and see what happens.

Sorry guys for not updating sooner.

Ive got about 3 games to report.

Milwaukee Bucks @ Philadelphia 76ers

84-90 L

We actually played pretty awesome in this one, Redd carried the load with 25 points but everyone else shot well and scored evenly(except van horn, he went like 4-13 or something)
Iverson was awesome and Willie Green killed us with 19 points off the bench.

Player of the Game:
Allen Iverson - 23pnts 6asts 5rebs 6stls

Milwaukee Bucks @ Cleveland Cavaliers

82-91 L

Yes, another loss, we are now 0-7!!
This is bloody disgraceful.
Joe Smith was awesome again though with 14pnts 20rebs and Van Horn lead our team with 18pnts 9rebs, but was 7-18FG's.
Redd was in foul trouble all game and had a pitiful 10pnts on 2-12FG's

Lebron James was great posting 21pnts 8rebs 3asts and shot 9-16 from the field.

Player of the Game:
Lebron James - 21pnts 8rebs 3asts 1blk 2stls 9-16FG's

Transaction:

The Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls agreed on a deal that would send Keith Van Horn + Erick Strickland to the Bulls in exchange for Tyson Chandler + Antonio Davis.

We do lose perimeter shooting in this trade, but Van Horn was shooting like shit anyway and Strickland was stuck behind Maurice Williams as a 3rd string PG.
We get some great low post skill in Chandler and Davis, and Chandler has a nice little 15 footer in his arsenal also.

Atlanta Hawks @ Milwaukee Bucks

90-84 L

We had this game, we had it!!!!
I mean we were up by 5 points with like 4 minutes to go, but Harrington and Walker took over.
Walker was creating, Harrington was finishing, and Childress was unbeleivable from the field.

Tyson Chandler had an awesome debut though and Mason had a nice productive game.
All in all though, we drop to 0-8 and i am almost crying about it :(

Player of the Game:
Antoine Walker - 15pnts 9rebs 6asts 3blks 2stls

Bucks Stat Leaders:
Tyson Chandler 25pnts 12rebs 3asts 11-22FG's
Michael Redd 18pnts 4rebs 2asts 6-14FG's
Desmond Mason 16pnts 4asts 3rebs 7-13FG's
Joe Smith 9pnts 6rebs 6TO's :(

We play the Knicks next, this is a big game for me, coz for any1 who followed my 2004 Bucks dynasty, they destroyed our Title hopes :(

Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks

109-106 W

WOOOOOOOOO!! The Bucks pick up win number 1 with a gruelling 4 quarter battle with the Knicks.
This game was played with so much emotion, that in the last quarter i couldnt sit still. I have a huge rivalry with the Knicks :)

We were up by 15 points at the half and 11 at 3 quarter time, but a surge from the Knicks got them right back in it. We were up by 2 with about 1:23 to go and Redd connected on a big 3 which pretty much sealed it.
We just sunk our free throws and we got away with win no. 1!

Player of the Game:
Michael Redd - 33pnts 8asts 4rebs 9-19FG's 5-9 3PT's 10-10FT's

Bucks Stat Leaders:
Tyson Chandler 25pnts 10rebs 3blks 12-23FG's
Antonio Davis 12pnts 2rebs
Mike James 11pnts 3asts 2stls
Dan Gadzuric 3pnts 13rebs 1blk 15mins

We play the Heat next, a big challenge for Tyson Chandler who has ave. 25ppg 11rpg in his first 2 games with us.

Shaquille O'Neal - Tyson Chandler
Udonis Haslem - Joe Smith
Rasual Butler - Desmond Mason
Eddie Jones - Michael Redd
Dwayne Wade - Mike James

1-8

Man I lost track of your dynasty for a while, but its still as good as it always was, I always like following yours (Y) Good win vs the Knicks, lets hope you can get your winning streak started.

BTW I like the trade, I just got Davis in my Portland Dynasty and hes pretty good off the bench, Plus I never liked KVH.

I havent posted in while people coz ive been thinking of restarting my Dynasty.
Well thats what im gonna do, i just saw Bucks vs Heat today, and i relised that Maurice Williams is a decent player, and needs a rating update. and im 1-10.
i've sorta figured out some nice plays with this team so im going to restart.

I feel its the best thing to do.
