Will older games work on Windows 7?

I want to buy NBA Live 2005, or any games like that, but when I read the requirements, it says "Windows 98, 2000 and XP" . So, do you think it will work, and do I need to go into compatibility mode or something? Thanks for the help, you guys are awesome!

Yes, NBA Live 2003-08 PC should work fine. Anything older, you have to go to a virtual machine or DOSBox; NBA Live 2000 and earlier won't even install on 64 bit Windows, as their setup programs are 16 bit.

Except NBA Live 2001 all the games worked at my computer (Win7, 32 bit).
IDK Live 95, 96 and 97. Even Live 98 worked too.
