PAX 2010: Final Day Recap
Posted On: Sep. 6, 2010 12:20 AM EST By: blackflash83 0 Comments

PAX 2010 has finally come to an end. This was my first ever PAX and I have to say the experience was incredible. There were so many games throughout the entire show and I knew that even with three days there was no way that I would be able to see everything. The stuff that I did get the opportunity to check out was definitely worthwhile. I was really pleased with my first PAX experience and if the opportunity arises I will definitely look into going to another PAX event in the future.

For day three we started at 10am back at the EA SPORTS booth. Just like day two, day three was incredibly busy as a lot of people came through to check out NBA JAM and NHL Slapshot. We had a number of gamers who played our games on the first day repeatedly return to our booth for multiple playthroughs since they really liked what we had to offer. Even at the end of day two we had fans who were staying at the same hotel I was in tell me that the EA SPORTS booth was the best booth at PAX. It's nice to hear that they really had a good time with us and I have to say the feeling was mutual. It was great to see everyone enjoying the games we had to offer and the EA SPORTS staff was awesome with all the gamers who came through to our booth.

As we mentioned on the NBA JAM Facebook page, EA SPORTS had a NBA JAM cabinet that was going to be raffled off to a lucky winner on the final day of PAX 2010. That event finally happened and the lucky winner will have the NBA JAM cabinet shipped to their home. The winner wasn't present at the actual draw but you didn't have to be there i order to win the arcade cabinet. There were a number of entries available for the draw as each time someone new played the game they would receive a ballot to enter the draw. Thanks to everyone that came out to check out the game and participated in the draw, your support is definitelyappreciated.

There were a lot of stories to tell about PAX 2010 but I think there was one that stood out amonst the rest. On day two of PAX we had two gamers named Cody and Jordan who got the chance to play NBA JAM here at the show and loved it. They were able to meet Trey Smith, the Line Producer for NBA JAM, and told him how much they liked the game. The next day they came back and brought Trey cookies that their mom baked for him. It was just a really awesome story and it was great to see that gamers can have such a great time playing the game. The best part was that Trey got really good cookies out of leading a great game team.

Eventually the show had to come to a close and everything had to eventually be taken down. It was a little sad to see the show end as I was having a good time being there. However, it was for the best that the show came to an end because my feet were definitely telling me that PAX needed to end. It was a really awesome experience being able to attend the show and hopefully I have another chance to be able to drive down to Seattle to partake in the show again. It was great to share my first ever PAX experience with you guys and I hope you enjoyed the blogs. To cap things off here's a shot of one of the biggest traditions that's done at PAX where everyone trades their buttons that they collected throughout the show. Enjoy the rest of your Labour Day Weekend and be sure to game on when you can over the holiday weekend!

I'm not surprised Jam was a hit, it seems to be a faithful recreation of a game that was very fun back in the day along with all the new stuff they've added and all the impressions so far from community members and the gaming media alike have been very positive. As I mentioned in the other thread, a Jam arcade machine is an awesome prize.
