Hardwood Rivals (Android/iOS)

What's up NLSC! Some of you may remember that I released a mobile basketball game not too long ago on here called Basketball Time. Well I'm excited to share the news that I am currently working on a sequel titled Hardwood Rivals! It will have a refined shooting mechanic as well as a head-to-head same screen two player mode. You will also be able to completely customize your players, and I plan on adding a career type mode in addition to HORSE.

I'm hoping to release a beta some time in August, so I look forward to hearing any of your guys' ideas and suggestions! Feel free to give me any initial reactions based off the current screens and video as well

Oh yeah, definitely! I plan on releasing for both mobile platforms simultaneously this time so you won't have to wait long

Yeah, it's a mobile game so I'm keeping it simple in terms of controls and gameplay. You can go head to head vs a computer or human opponent on the same device, and there will be other single player modes as well. Check out an early look at the game here!

How is your dunking game coming along?

Hit a couple of minor setbacks. The multiplayer/scoring system ended up being incredibly buggy so I'm switching gears to more of a one player game where you collect accomplishments for executing different dunks. Also, had to move for work so I haven't touched it in a month or so but getting back into now.

I like your new direction. When I created my first game I wanted all these features like multiplayer before I released, but then it became too overwhelming to get it all working. So I narrowed down my focus to strictly single player modes which allowed me to release a finished game within a reasonable time frame. Now with the sequel, I'm more experienced and am able to add in things I wanted to the first time around.

Keeping it simple is key, just so that you can get your core mechanics working and you have less things to worry about. I'm glad that you're getting back into development and look forward to more of your progress!

I have an early beta ready for both iOS and Android! Is anyone here interested in testing it out?
