Someone give this man a cookie. And they're styled in the chop-corner square ESPN style -- and I have alternate wordmarks for some too (not pictured). As I said, this is just the tip of the iceberg. There's just oh so much more coming.

 Wow this looks really impressive, from the sounds of things this could be just as good as the TNT mod that was made last year, if not better (Y)

Off topic: Just realised that bigh0rt, Pdub and JaoSming are now NLSC team members congrats (Y)

Good to see the community fix another EA disaster....EA didn't release baseball this year either, so the folks over at MVPmods.com did the same thing, took a bunch of patches/rosters, etc. and basically made their own MVP 2006, feels like a brand new game by the time you apply all of the changes!! check them out too if anyone likes baseball. Great job so far, I may switch to 07 afterall!!!

Is there anything I can do to join this? I am good at making portraits. You might be using some of them already. If you want portraits, do you want the pictures from any specific web site.

Ive been talking to cklitsie with the NCAA Mod and well, i was just wondering :cheeky:

He's given me permission to convert it to 07 when we finish up (Im getting ratings from College Hoops 2k7) so I was thinking of a couple ideas to incorperate this into SUM.

Have 1 roster with just NBA teams.
a 2nd with just NCAA teams (NCAA Live 07)
and a 3rd which would combine all the teams so we could play Celtics vs Duke

Also I have contacted DANet from Live.org to see if we could also include the Nteams patch.

so what do you think?
Opinions are my own.

A FANTASTIC idea. Doing things like the NCAA mod, and Nteams patch, make this game even more playable. You can never get bored of it, becuase there is so much to do. Another thing I really enjoyed from 06 was the Classic Teams (I know its being worked on for 07) and also the legends patch, which was like an all-time roster for each team. I think these would all be neat additions, but might be too much work with just you guys working on it???

As somebody who doesn't play Dynasties, I'm all for something like this, and don't mind doing the labor in importing it all into roster sets, etc. Is there a way for us to not ruin it for those who play Dynasty, Jao, by adding all these additional teams in the same manner in which the adidas, Europe, etc. teams are in the game?

of course there is man :D

you hit it on the nose, you make the additional teams in the same conference and division as the decade and all star teams.

I know your question was directed at Jao, but I'll take a shot at it. In my experience, the best way to do it is just to have a seperate roster file for each mod. If you want to play with the regular rosters, you load the SUM roster file, if you want the NCAA mod, you load the NCAA mod roster file, same with all time teams, etc. ......... wait, I'm not sure that would work, seeing as the art files for the teams would be different. I guess it would work for all-time teams, but thats it. I am just a little bit against having 90 teams to sort through, especially since we dont have a drop down menu and have to click through them one at a time.

well im thinking

1 NBA only roster
1 NCAA only
1 Nteams only (if I hear back from DAnet)

then 1 roster as one huge clusterfuck

Granted the team navigation isnt really good for having more than 30 teams it would work cause all of the NCAA teams would be bunched together, all the Nteams would be together and all the special teams would be together.
Opinions are my own.

I think that's excessive, even, Jao. Provided Dynasties are still possible, I see no reason why not to just include everything, if we're going to do it anyway. No need to separate them individually, IMO. The big draws with them are Tournaments anyway, so there'd be no real reason to Dynasty with either, etc. etc.

I'm sure we'll discuss it all.

sounding real good man....damm i can only imagine how much dbf editing there is to do.

Another thing I found is that the jersey .viv structure is different this year.each number is assigned a fsh now.I just converted the bulls jerseys and i had to rename fsh files for over 100 numbers .

Let me know if you need any technical help if you run into any problems :D

Yah it sucks.....and no 512x512 jerseys yet either.. :(

I think if you guys make one big mod with all of the teams included the ncaa teams and the nt teams will be grouped alphabetically.for example ....let's say you select the indiana university team ..the next team that will show is the italian national team. This only affects custom teams not the default nba teams.its nothing major though..

This is what I use for renaming files, I just extract everything then that baby does the rest. Very useful for courts and especially for those new jerseys. (just type in a phrase to find "urba" and change it to "prac" and its done :D )

I know there are others that probably work better and have an undo feature as well.
Opinions are my own.

Oh bighort I just saw that ESPN integration thing... man that looks sick... I have no idea what the original choose team screen looked like but that is definitely very, very, very nice looking. But yeah, is that really ATL's alternative logo?

EDIT: If you want any help with those logos, I would gladly make some :)

Just a little update on what c0nr4d and I have been cooperating on, as far as menus and gradual ESPN Integration goes. Anyone who has seen a game on ESPN this year has noticed, I'm sure, the rounded edged rombuses that they are putting team logos in on the overlays. We went that route with the wordmarks. I give you, a Preview:
