I hear people at EA in Canada work 90hrs a week. It was a hot topic a few years back. I have a friend who almost got a co-op job at EA, but now he's glab he didn't get the job.

maybe that's why there are so many bugs, the guys at EA are pissed and need sleep.

To clarify two points:

It's not just the CPU team, it's the human controlled team too. You have to manually perform every sub for your team, because the computer no longer does it.

It has nothing to do with sliders. The Human team has a sub slider, but it's ignored. The computer rarely makes subs.

It has nothing to do with fatigue. Both the computer team and human controlled team get fatigued. In fact, because few subs are made, unless you do it manually for both the human and computer controlled teams, they play a good portion of the game exhausted. However, even with fatigue all the way down, they seem to be able to play at full speed.

This was working in previous versions of Live for the PC. Somehow, in their care only for a feature filled "next gen" version, the developers broke features in the PC version.

Maybe because they think people are always simming when playing dynasty. When you sim the dynasty, opponents and your team will do there normal sub.

i just started a dynasty, even set my players playing time. Played 1 quarter and the only person to sub out was bogut, who had 2 fouls. Dale Davis of the pistons had no energy when Rip was shooting a couple free throws, had a chance to be subbed out and nope. Looks like it effects dynasty too. (N)

I knew this was coming even before I went to the Community Day. I did not "lie" to anyone. I gave my honest impressions of the game. I did not say it was perfect and I certainly didn't say it would be bug free.

Having not played the game in more than a month I can't really comment on these issues but obviously I'm hoping when I get my hands on the final version I enjoy it as much as I anticipated after playing it at the Community Day. Chances are I'll notice more of the smaller things - good and bad - that only come after some solid hours playing the game.

FINALLY SOMEBODY THAT ANSWERS THE QUESTION THAT HAS BEEN ASKED REPEATEDLY. (Y)

1. Ok heres another question.....is this problem fixable via a patch?
2. What kind of effect does no-subs have on the game.

The effect is more noticeable when you play longer minute quarters. I played a Season game of 6 minutes and my starting 5 played the whole game. The cpu subbed one player in, because of foul trouble. I turned the Stamina Bar on, and none of my players had less than 3/4 of their stamina throughout the game. That may have been because I wasn't using turbo alot and I passed it around alot.

The first game I played when I got it was on 8 minutes, and I noticed my big men were getting tired. It may have been because I was using Turbo alot while getting them back on defense.

EA screws with us again. I'm no programmer but how hard is it to take last year's game, make notes of all the features and incorporate them into the newer version, whilst improving it.

Hopefully someone can patch it.

Yeah, I want to know, too. Do xbox/ps2 users experience the substitution bug or is it just the PC version.

I can't believe this... I was fairly excited about the game until 5 minutes ago when I opened this thread.

If the subs are wrong and bad, then this game is pretty busted wide open. That means that acutally if you want to have totally realistic scores and all that, you have do all kinds of things that the AI doesn't take care of any more. I am one of the guys that's had pretty much no patience to do subs my self and have almost exclusively used the auto subbing. I only use it when some guy isn't on the floor when he should be. Like in the fourth quarter and Pierce is sitting on the bench with a full stamina bar...

Well, on the other hand, I do mostly Dynasty and I do SIM alot so this might not be too much of a problem, but if the game gets ridiculously easy with the opponent players being all exhausted, then its not a good thing.

I'm still buying it... Hopefully there will be a fix for this as it can pretty much ruin the game. Super stats and bench players getting the usually low "EA" stats...

i heavily doubted i would be buying live this year. forget doubting, i won't be buying live this year at all. infact, if i found somewhere to download it for free, i wouldn't even bother wasting my time.

EDIT: are there no signature shots either? what the hell has ea done?

Question though......when substituting for the CPU do you have to switch controller to the CPU team before subbing? Or can i sub both my team & theirs like back in 2000.

^I believe you have to switch control, since I have never tried to sub for the cpu. Personally, I'm going to work on patches until a fix comes out. If a fix never comes out, I will sue.

I'd like to offer up a big thank you. Once again the NBA Live forum comes up trumps.

I used to be a regular here, until the mess that was NBA Live drove me away but with the release of Live 07, I figured I'd nip back in and see how things are going.

First thread here, I see a report of a (to me) game breaking bug. That's saved me £30.

Thanks lads, see you all next year. :)
