Missing Drafted Players

This might be a bug, but I am seeing an increasing number of drafted players not show up in the team rosters after the draft (during the trade players phase). It was my understanding that a AI team cannot draft players beyond the capacity of their rosters, the same as it is for me. However, I started noticing drafted players seemingly disappear after the draft a few seasons prior to my current one.
I just finished the draft for 2027 and there were SIX drafted players who don't show up on the team rosters of those teams that drafted them. (One of the players was actually as high as #8 in the draft.) Not only that, I can't see them on any team roster. Where do they go and, more importantly, how can the AI teams draft them when their rosters are obviously full and I cannot?
