One way of making NBA live more exciting in the future

Postby pedi_pogi on Fri May 20, 2005 2:00 am

I've been thinking about this a lot since I started playing NBA Live... Player emotions are part of the game, so why not add a TEMPER/COMPOSURE in the player rating??

This can definitely improve the game by making the game more exciting and unpredictable.. Certain players are cool while others are not, so this can make the game a lot more fun... Player temper can work just like stamina, once the meter gets to a certain point, the player can be called for a technical or can lose his cool and be involved in a fight and get ejected... The meter can be triggered by hard fouls, physical contact, or other factors... So once the player is near to the point of losing his cool, a substitution can calm him down, just like in a real game...

Well this sounds crazy but what do you think??

they had this once... in... i think it was Live2000 with laid back, balanced and hyped, but it didn't have much effect on how they played though.
oh.. and one more thing FOR THE LAST TIME THE NBA WON'T ALLOW TECHNICALS.

It's an interesting idea, albeit one that the NBA probably won't allow. There's other stuff that could be added to improve the game and make it more enjoyable before this. Besides, there'd have to be more factors than a Temper meter controlling this, as not all players would react the same way. Tim Duncan would not fly off the handle as Ron Artest might.

Fights aren't a necessary part of the game at all; they're not an admirable part of the game which is why the NBA won't allow them to be represented in games such as NBA Live. They're not common enough to warrant inclusion anyway. Why do we remember fights in the NBA? Because they don't happen very often, so when they do they tend to stick in our minds.

I want to see Artest strorming into the crowd and start hitting people at random... And I want to see JO and S.Jackson follow his lead...

We need a brawl like that in atleast every third game... Fights are a part of the daily NBA and we need them... We want them in the game...

NOT... Get real...

they need a "hot" meter.
Like say Ray Allen hits 4 J's in a row, he is on fire and should temporily have his stats boosted

they should at the very least have a tempo meter cuz sometimes a team gets hot and just goes through bad stretches while others go through stretches were they just can't miss

dont they already have that? when you get hot the circle under your player starts pulsing and his stats are upped temporarily.

I wouldn't mind more emotion but no techs or fights. This aint NHL

I think the hot o meter could be good... but what happened when you are in a bad situation??? I think that could have more animations for leadership... Like a Shaq telling dwyane wade that he should pass him more and not jus try to appear all the time...

well i really want to feel every game is different....
maybe a more intense battle between teams like Lakers-Kings or Pistons-Pacers. not like playing with Lakers against bobcats and Heat has no difference.

also i want to feel momentum i the game. like when i was down 12 points and i tied the game, every players seems pumped up.. things like that....
