Sound SOUnd SOUND !!!!

Postby roozbeh60 on Mon May 16, 2005 9:49 am

Guys... i have to admit the sound in nba live 2005 is really crap... The thing that most takes someone into the game is a good sound from the Crowds... When u do a nice dunks or get a nice 3 point or fade away, u want to hear the crowd going wild,, unfortunately in nba live 2005 the sound after a dunk ended after like 3 seconds... i hope they improve this

What i really meant there is that i really get hyped up (as a crowd) when my team comes back with a streak while hitting many shots, thn when we take over , they call a time out while the crowd is going crazy,, and i mostly get hyped up because all the other people are hyped up and screaming with me,, but if everyone is quite there is no excitement to the game !!!!

I dno't want to keep bringing it up, but in ESPN 2K5 they have a fair bit of crowd involvement... I've played games where the home crowd have just gone stone silent after the away team scores a big basket, and if the home team goes on a run the crowd gets REALLY loud. Not to mention that on a few occassions with the shot clock running down, the crowd have started counting down the seconds left until it expires.

It can't be THAT difficult to impliment, and I think it'd add alot to the realism of the game if they could improve it in Live 2006.

Agreed on the crowd, but the sound effects were much more realistic in NBA Live 2005 compared to years past, in my opinion.

Another feature that might be cool is the ability to feel player impact when they jump. On the game that for now on shall remain nameless, or The Game Formerly Known As ESPN 2K5, when a player jumps and comes back down you get a slight vibration through the control and a realistic sound effect from the jump aswell. It's a nice touch, I genuinely had no idea of how much sound can boost the playability of a game. Bill Walton's presence somewhat kills it though. "Goodness gracious snakes alive!"

I wish they would change the dunk sound. Seriously whenever I hear dunks they hear nothing like real dunks in 2005! In 04 it sounded like huge metal trashcans falling, in 05 it sounds like they are breaking wood or something, they need to watch some games and record this stuff!

NBA Live 2005's sound effect on dunks was a lot more realistic than the crashing in NBA Live 2004. Overall, I was quite happy with the SFX in Live 2005.

I'd love more crowd involvement... more home crowd sounds to support the teams...

but yeah, I'd love a w WOOOSH going over my 5.1 system too, when I take a leap doing the air canada on grant hill, but I dunno, makes it too "matrix" like, doesn't it? More arcade, less realism.

Cheers, Flix

sound makes A LOT more enjoyable. What i do as i mentioned elsewhere is turn down the commentary and sound Fx and crunk up the crowd to max and turn on the subwoofer. This way the commentary and sound fx are of equal volume to the crowd and you really feel the game. With the subwoofer it makes the ingame music much better when they have the drums going.
