Simple things for realism

I know when things are asked for of EA when it comes to basketball games, they always end up taking things to far, because they try to implement new revolutionary things instead of working off what they have already... Because of this issue that seems to plague the EA office, i have some pretty simple wishes i feel will better and make the game more enjoyable.
1. When going up for a dunk on someone, im tired of jumping in the air, and having an invisable force push back the defender whilst i throw it down. I want to see some better in air collision, not just leading into reverse layups and altered shots. I want some Amare dunks. Some posterizations, so when you happen to catch your defender jumping to late and have those quick hops like D-Wade you can embarrass them. Also when someone is running on a fast break you should be able to prevent them form getting an easy basket or just flagrent fouling them by running from behind and taking their legs out while they are in the air, which would get you kicked out for an amount of game in dynasty counting on sevarity.
2. They should add a momentum meter which could be implimented like the college games, though pros are not as emotionally conected with the fans, it would be nice to see some kind of adreniline represented so when your player is hot, he gets some kind of logo or something next to his name until he misses a shot. That could be aided by things such as dunks on people or on fast breaks, clutch threes, big steals, or big blocks. Which could lead to better celebrations after these things such as strutting down the court. This as oppose to the ones which currently force you to struggle to get back on defence.
3. In Dynasty while praticing with a player instead of putting him into a training camp with dynasty points, they should actually implement the practice mode, so the ammount of time your willing to spend around shooting and dribbling should increase your skills, or 1 on 1 defensively. They should also alow you to do 3 on 3 scrimmages, and such, practice drills, set up racks of balls and shoot(since 3pt contest is implemented, lift weights, ect. Basiclly they should just make training your players interactive instead of watching animations(similar to Madden).
*4.* When you are in timeout, they should give you the option of maybe changing the plays in your book, and setting up your offense and they could time you(ala: 20sec timeout, ect), even though itd be unessecary since you could do it in options. This though would make timeout worth something other that just subbing in players.
5. In addition, some small things just for kicks, like being able to shoot around before a game or skipping that, having sweats/warmups as one of your uniform choices, more thunderous dunks for bigger guys down in the post.

I like your post but I don't like your point #3. The reason is that I hate practice. I do practice... for me to improve and learn the game... which last a few weeks max after I bought the game...but after that, I don't use the practice mode much, if ever.

So if you make improvement dependant on time spent in practice or what was done in practice (in dynasty), then practice becomes mandatory, and with all players of your team. And practicing to improve a player is not as much fun as practicing to improve yourself.

If it is ever dependant on it, it should have the ability to sim it for people who like to allocate their time to play games and manage their team rather than practice or play one-on-one. (Which is what I believe the more casual playes also prefer...)

Well it's debatable whether or not practice in real life is mandatory either. It's wouldnt be necessary to make your players better, but if you wanted to, you would have to put in some time. i do see were you are coming from though.

So just sim your way through it.

AmP31 .. I really agree with all of your wishes there. nr.1 is buggin my like crazy in live 2005. It's really frustrating once you faked your defender to the wrong way and you earned yourself like 2 meters and the invisable force is making him to change the dunk motion so the defender can block him, just beacuse their from behind block is to be used. I like it ocationally, but only when the cpu isn't cheating..
