I saw Spiderman 2 for the first time tonight, and wow, what a fantastic movie  I'd rank it way above Superman Returns, and maybe even above Batman Begins. One of the great things about it is that it doesn't live and die off the action scenes, there's a story behind everything and the action becomes secondary. Not only that, but Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane is about 9 billion times better than the Holmes/Bosworth portrayals in those movies. Can't wait for #3.

I remember many people were saying that the second one was more watered down and corny, but I guess we're one of the few people who thought it was a pretty good movie.

Fri Jul 14, 2006 2:16 am

Yeah I remember reading that there was too much romance or whatever. It seems a bit stupid when you think about it, since Peter and Mary Jane are barely together throughout the movie. One thing that always gets me with comic book adaptions is that I'm always wanting them to reveal their identities to certain people, so that's probably a big part of why I liked this one so much.

Fri Jul 14, 2006 2:22 am

Mm, I wouldn't rank it above BB, sure Mary Jane's character portayel was stronger, but BB was just awesome.

Then again, to each his own opinion. :)

Ditto on the romance, it was less compared to the 1st, the movie was more focused on Peter's problems in general.
I didn't like it though when Peter gave up being Spiderman and was having 2nd thoughts on being a superhero again, which is a major aspect of the movie. It was just too cliche for my taste, but that action scene with the train was just whoa . It captured the way my geeky imagination expected Spidey would move.

Watched this movie titled "Pay It Forward". Came out in 2000 and that kid Haley Joel Osment is in it. Kinda sad at the end but oh well, I'll leave that for whoever is gonna watch it to see. Go check it out.....now. Its no bad.

I saw Clerks II tonight, and it was awome. It had me rollin from start to finish, and this has to be one of the best movies this year imo.

I love the concept of that film. Too bad it isn't going to happen in real life. Ever. (If it does happen, it'll eventually stop at one point, people are just that way)

my work had it's end of financial year party, albeit a little late but still, and we went & saw Pirates of the Caribbean 2 at Gold Class....I kinda knew going in that the movie would be shithouse & it was....complete & utter garbage....

So howabout Venom being in Spider-Man 3? The Wallpaper is up on the official site. (Y)

The Spider-Man movies are fucking fantastic. 8-)

I watched Click, it's funny then it gets really sad :? .

I'll be sure to check out Clerks II.

Just saw Pirates of the Caribbean II yesterday, and I thought it was a very good and consistent sequal to the first one. There was a cute surprise ending, but it was so obvious that there were a lot of unresolved stuff that will be resolved in the third movie. I kinda liked Jack better in the first one, but overall, it was fun to watch.

Clerks II is the comedy of the year. Everyone should watch it, and if you don't like it, you have no soul.

I just watched ATL, and it was surprisingly good. The plot is similar to a lot of movies, but I thought it was better than most... T.I. is a pretty decent actor unlike others (50 cent, DMX)

I liked the surpsise at the end.. but about what hapens to jack, he makes the 3rd movie so... Overrall its a good movie has some fun parts and all.. the bad part is that we have to wait another year to hear the end of the story...

The rapper-actor I would have have to say the best amongst them is Mos Def.
He's versatile as an actor and raps about significant topics other than bling-bling shite.
The role that really convinced me of his acting skill was when he portrayed in Chappelle's Show, Rondell, the representative of the Black Delegation during the Racial Draft sketch. I didn't know it was him and was surprised when I found out. He can do not only serious roles but also handle comedy extremely well.

Mos Def's filmography

I would have to agree. He was very impressive in The Woodsman, and I didn't know he was a rapper till the credits showed "Mos Def"

Anyone had the chance to see Miami Vice yet? From what I've read, it doesnt matter if the review thought it was good or bad, its either you love it or loathe it.

That actually was pretty funny considering I am a Rings fan.

Nevr watched the first Clerks but after seeing the 2nd yesterday I gotta go pick it up. I never thought it would be that funny, wierd and various other terms that can be used to describe this strange film. Definitely a must watch. (y)
