dadamafia wrote:Wasted 2 hours of my life watching Silent Hill. Cant say nothing much except the movie was horribleand had awful dialogue.

Just saw that yesterday. It was stupid, and the story was just awful. The effects were fairly neat, but other than that, I'm disappointed that there weren't more scenes like the one where the monster just ripped the woman's skin right off then threw the rest of the flesh at the church door.

zmac wrote:What do you mean "when she still had boobs"? Am I missing something?

You missed something when she went anorexic.

Stevesanity wrote:Anyone checked out 'An American Haunting'? Is it really crap or worth a watch?

If I knew Silent Hill had crap reviews and I still went ahead and watched it, I'd suggest to avoid this one too.

Stevesanity wrote:Anyone checked out 'An American Haunting'? It had a really good storyline cause first of all its based on true events and it just spooked me out to know it was labelled as death by supernatural causes, storyline's possibly better than Emily Rose but its got really bad reviews from all sides so far and made me lose interest in paying to watch it. Is it really crap or worth a watch?

The bad reviews and slightly boring preview make me probably not want to see it.

But I just can't believe that Donald Sutherland would do a BAD movie.

I refer to you as fuckwit which you are. I said in my last post that doesn't have anything to do with Dutch people or your nationality, but it has everything to do with your poor state of mind. I didn't do it twice, I did it more than that and everytime I was refering to you, not to any other Dutch member of these forums (I apologize to all of them) and you always knew to whose direction I was pointing out, so you better don't act insulted by my 'nationalism' with which you want me to label with.

Honestly, I don't think you even bothered reading my previous post. You said this yourself:

I started callling you Dutch because you attacked me

Translated: You call me something derrogative (homo) and I called you something derrogative back. (Dutch) Let's see you work yourself out of that one with a shitload of words which don't help your case.

With what did I invite to be insulted?

The fact that you're obsessing with the male physique was the invitation.
I don't mind talking about weight lifting, I do mind you going "ooh, this guys physique is sooo purty".

Your sign includes a statement about the alleged size of your cock

Got that off of TV, genius. It's called humour, you should trying getting one. Given you're as dry as a shrivled up prune, I doubt something like humour fits in your vocabulary.

Pychologically speaking, you're a lost case and I already explained how I feel about that. You could call me anything you want and I would be pissed off in any of the cases. Why? Becuase of the idea of being attacked without basis by a guttles fuck who probably doesn't have the balls to do the same thing in person.

Yet you feel the need to respond. If you don't care, why take the time? :cheeky:

I don't care who members of this community are as long as they don't attack me and when they do – like you certainly did

I did? Honestly? When? I said it didn't have to be Shakespeare, you resorted to insulting, look back, it wasn't me. You've based this argument on previous ocassions, not on this one. You began the degrading by calling me Dutch in a not so nice fashion. I'm not going to explain this again.

If a black man living in Slovenia said that he feels Slovenia is his home, he's Slovenian to me. Hey, you said your home is Curacao. So it isn't. Change of spirit?

He can say he's feels slovenian, but technically speaking, he's an African.

Besides, there is a difference between Dutch & Antillian. You may not know it given you don't know much about the islands, so to argue it is quite useless. You ask an islander if he's Dutch & he'll tell you he's Antillian.

We're far from Dutch, no similiarities what so ever.

Once again, your intellect wasn't able to grasp my point – the number of posts about your dick testify your lack of masculinity, not the post count itself.

Which were all made in jest, whereas your homo admiration wasn't.

Yes, I did. I did compliment his wife in like three posts. So you're saying he doesn't have a hot wife

Take a deep breath, take Dweavers cock out of your mouth, and read your sentance again. Ok, good.

It's Dweavers wife, that's an automatic not hot label. It's DWEAVERS WIFE!!! SHE CAN'T BE HOT if she married a nincompoop.

That meant that you started with looking at the movie as a Hollywood flick and not as a piece of art (some films actually have artistic value, you know?) and I warned you that you shouldn't change your point of view (arguments) later in the debate.

How can you say what I meant? You said I SAID it was artistic, had depth. I said I didn't. I demand you show me where I said that. You fail to do so. Is there much left for me to ask?

I proved you used Dutch in a uncalled for manner, I showed you said I said something, whereas I didn't. So...is there much left to say?

Anyways, given I don't want my own topic ruined...

I watched Goodfellas last night, nice movie, too much Ray Liotta for me but damn did Lorraine Braco look fucked up. :o

About to watch Carlito's Way tonight.

Fri May 12, 2006 6:10 am

Honestly, I don't think you even bothered reading my previous post. You said this yourself:

I started callling you Dutch because you attacked me

Yes, and then I explained what I chose that particular label, which your brains obviously didn't grasp. Translated: you call me something insulting, I call you something which so absurd just to prove a point to you how those kind of things piss people off if they're uninvited without any basis.

With what did I invite to be insulted?

The fact that you're obsessing with the male physique was the invitation.
I don't mind talking about weight lifting, I do mind you going "ooh, this guys physique is sooo purty".

You see, I can do that without being gay. That's the big difference between me and you. I'm sure enough in my sexuality that I can go to the gym and try to achieve a certain goal which is embodied by a model, actor or whoever and not feeling gay by doing that. You would feel gay and just a fact that you lose your time and brain cells with thinking about what is 'gay' and what is 'straight' and visualizing it as 'right' and 'wrong', tells something about you.

Got that off of TV, genius. It's called humour, you should trying getting one. Given you're as dry as a shrivled up prune, I doubt something like humour fits in your vocabulary.

The last time I checked, 'humour' has to be funny. You're not funny, you're not original and you're definitely suspiciously overdoing that.

Yet you feel the need to respond. If you don't care, why take the time? :cheeky:

I don't care what the label is, I just don't like idea of being attacked by fucks like you, desperate of attention.

I said it didn't have to be Shakespeare, you resorted to insulting, look back, it wasn't me. You've based this argument on previous ocassions, not on this one. You began the degrading by calling me Dutch in a not so nice fashion. I'm not going to explain this again.

Historically, you were the one who started it and you certainly didn't finish it. In matter of fact, I was willing to let the whole thing go, but you dragged it on many occassions. So here it is. What's you beef with me? What are your problems? Frustration? Weren't you loved enough? Do girls odn't give you enough attention?

He can say he's feels slovenian, but technically speaking, he's an African.

Besides, there is a difference between Dutch & Antillian. You may not know it given you don't know much about the islands, so to argue it is quite useless. You ask an islander if he's Dutch & he'll tell you he's Antillian.

We're far from Dutch, no similiarities what so ever.

Practically, I get the difference. Tehnically, I don't give a damn. Tehnically, they're Dutch and you can't say that isn't true.

Which were all made in jest, whereas your homo admiration wasn't.

You see, I don't buy that. I think there's more of dirty stuff behind your words, more of your frustrations.

Take a deep breath, take Dweavers cock out of your mouth, and read your sentance again. Ok, good.

It's Dweavers wife, that's an automatic not hot label. It's DWEAVERS WIFE!!! SHE CAN'T BE HOT if she married a nincompoop.

I laugh deep inside. Seriously, you can't sleep at night and you make this shit up? Because it's funny only in your mind.

How can you say what I meant? You said I SAID it was artistic, had depth. I said I didn't. I demand you show me where I said that. You fail to do so. Is there much left for me to ask?

I said this:

You said it yourself, so don't come out later defending this flick with its alleged depth and artistic value. If you look at this movie as a pure Hollywood entartainer,…

as a response to:

Who said it was supposed to be art? It's a Hollywood entertainer, lay off the almighty bullshit.

I already explained to you, but I guess I have to do it again: my response meant that you started evauluating this movie as a pure entertainment, and that you better not change your mind later in the debate and start defending the movie with its alleged depth or artistic value. Gee, what exactly didn't you get?

So before we move on with our lives and leave each other alone for the rest of the eternity, do you have anything else to say to me? Anything at all? You know, you don't want that kind of things keep in yourself. You could end up trying to bully everyone on the Internet.

On topic: Leon. I haven't watched it yet (yes, I'm ashamed) and it really gave a big dose of respect for Jean Reno, Gary Oldman, Natalie Portman and Luc Besson (although I still think he's an 'ovearchiever'). And those glasses are as cool as it gets.

Fri May 12, 2006 6:11 am

I cannot decide whether I hate VanK or not.

Fri May 12, 2006 7:37 am

Mm, he's a fan of Dweaver, not to sound cliche but I rest my case.

Watched Firewall, it's a rent worthy movie, not something I'd have spent cash to go to the movies for. Well, I'd have regretted it if I did. Too bad they didn't use more of the computers element in it.

Going to watch MI: III tomorrow evening.

Fri May 12, 2006 7:58 am

bah pretty much everyone here gets annoyed/feels the need to make a
response whenever they are insulted. so both of you stop philosophising why you feel the need to engage in this little kindergarten fight and kiss and make up lol

as far as da vince code... i was fortunate enough to read Angels & Demons before the hoopla about the Da Vinci code started. I enjoyed Angels but i was disappointed with "code" since it was basically the same book, same style, with the same twists... just different characters (except the main character)

talking bad about Religion is such a taboo subject so any time there's some kind of controversial show/book/movie about religion (and when Oprah makes a new addition to her damn book club), it perks the intereste of the media/people

i wonder how many people read the book because a few days a week there would be something about it in the news??? the same could be said about that liar James Frey's book- a million little pieces

I'm waiting for X3 to come out already

Likewise. I made it a point to read Angels & Demons before Da Vinci code, I keep interlacing the two stories for some reason. (Probably because they are so so alike.)

During the rushes of the movie, I was like...hmm, where's the guy in the wheelchair & the scientist lady? Uh, Angels & Demons.

The way that book ended too, much more spectacular than Da Vinci Code, Da Vinci Code is basically as well known as it is only due to word of mouth, numerous folks think Angels and Demons is a "new book". "Yeah, it was released after Code." No, it was re-released to gross more money.

Oh well, movie thread, not book thread.

Anyone else invision Harrison Ford in Hanks' role, or was it just me?

Watched Mission Impossible III last night, before anyone starts, it was not artistic nor did it have depth. Now moving on.

That movie was action all the way, especially seeing it on big screen, more than once did I feel my head jerk in fear of being hit by some exploding particle on screen, quite silly to be totally honest. Aside from the fact that Tom Cruise is a weirdo in real life, Ethan Hunt was indeed written for him. (Duh.) Basically what I'm trying to say is I'm really glad they didn't go XXX style and just find some white rapper (Eminem, better yet, Vanilla Ice anyone) for Ethan Hunt's role as they did with Vin Diesel to Ice Cube. (Hey, lot's of Ice's.)

Ving Rhames making his third appearance in the series, only other actor to do that is Mr. Cruise himself, Rhames, as usual, top form.

Lawrence Fishburne was a welcomed addition to the star cast, his role was also nice, just didn't seem...him. (Morpheus left an impression I suppose.)

Kerri Russel was quite wasted, especially how they kept mentioning her in previews.

Michelle Monahagan or however you spell it, I think she's really pretty. Not in a hotness sense, more like girl next door cute type pretty. Although she was scorching in that red santa thing in Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang.

Phillip Seymore Hoffman, put his weight back on after (?) Capote, good acting in this one aswell. Should've gotten a bit more footage I thinks. Best bad guy of the series though.

The Car - Why'd they do that to the car? It was such a pretty car. :(

Overall, the third one had the best action of all compared to the previous two, however, because of all the action during the course of the movie, you're a tad let down by the ending. You expect the constant action during the movie to lead to a spectacular ending. The ending was fare. The ending of M:I II was a lot lot lot better, the way he got the gun from the sand and shot the bad fellow, albeit unrealistic, had mucho cool factor.

Overall, forget about Tom Cruise's off the screen antics, watch it with an open mind, if you dig booming explosions, lot's of bullets, some funny conversations and lots of adrenaline, watch the movie. :)

Saw two (older) movies this weekend.

I am Sam - That was touching and a nice story where love triumphs for a mentally challenged father (played by Sean Penn)

Eyes Wide Shut - A Stanley Kubrick movie featuring Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise that is bizarre in a good way in a twist about faithfulness, but the biggest problem imo, is that the dialogue is soooo sloooow.

Will watch The Hurricane with Denzel Washington sometime this week!

Thu May 18, 2006 11:14 am

Any of you guys have watched Gus Van Sant's "Elephant"? Is kinda boring at first but the last part is cool :P

Thu May 18, 2006 11:14 am

Just saw The Terminal.. loved it

Thu May 18, 2006 11:16 am

I fonally got around to watching United 93. It was pretty good except I couldnt read the subtitles since the theatre people messed up the positioning on the screen. Oh well.

MI3 wasnt anything special. It was just ok. Maybe I'm just sick of seeing Tom Cruise. Did I say this before?

Thu May 18, 2006 5:27 pm

I need someone to write a short review on Edward Scizzorhands for a survey assignment at school.
Anyone seen it?

Thu May 18, 2006 5:40 pm

mission impossible 3 = popcorn movie. Download it if you want to watch it, imo. michelle monoghan is like a liv tyler clone, but better. I like. tom cruise isn't that bad.

watched poseidon... sucked so bad I'm gonna download and burn it (literally) just in spite.

watched run lola run..... great concept, didn't live up to my expectations, but oh wel. Rewatched Requiem For a Dream.... god, i love that movie.

and kinda off topic, but katharine mcphee is the shit.

I liked I am Sam too. I'd never watch it again I don't think, but I liked it. The soundtrack is nice too... all beatles covers. Of course I love the blackbird song, and another I forget the name of (two of us riding horses?)

Eyes Wide Shut is one of my least favorite Kubrick films. To be honest I barely remember it, but it didn't stick with me like Clockwork Orange, Oddysey, Shining, or Jacket.

Any of you guys have watched Gus Van Sant's "Elephant"? Is kinda boring at first but the last part is cool Razz

I liked Elpehant. It was kinda controversial, and a lot of people thought it was slow.... but i thought it was thought provoking. Again I don't think I'd watch it twice, but the first time is decent. Defenitely not a sunshine and flowers movie though, eh.

ewwwwwwwwww. I hated that movie.

I need someone to write a short review on Edward Scizzorhands for a survey assignment at school.

yup, and just in case you ask... no. I did like it though, wouldn't hurt you to actually watch it and write about would it?

Thu May 18, 2006 5:49 pm

 I only need peoples short opnions on the movie and then put it into my assignment. Not really a review as such but just some opnions on it. 1-2 sentences max. :proud:

I'm watching Glory Road when it comes out. (y)

I saw it when I was younger, but I don't remember much :P I hope you don't spell "Scizzorhands" when you do your assignment.

Rent it, Peachy, rent it!

I saw that one too. A repeat of Columbine, but it was a decent movie, imo. The acting sucked and the flow was a little off, but it was compelling enough to hold my interest.

Sat May 20, 2006 3:41 pm

I went and saw the Da Vinci Code tonight and it wasnt too bad. Cant really give it much praise since it doesnt help knowing every move they make. That sex scene with the old geezer provided me with some humour because of the manner in which the receiving female was acting.

On another note I saw a preview of another 9/11 related film starring Nicholas Cage.

Why Nicholas Cage? Was this necessary?

I dont believe I will waste my money to go watch that Hollywooded up movie. Would have been much better to see a bunch of no-name actors because at least they could act.

Sat May 20, 2006 3:44 pm

finally saw harold and kumar... loved it

Sun May 21, 2006 5:47 am

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - such a warm, playfull movie about life as seen through the eyes of a eleven and a half year old child. A gang of good people, an adventure and whole lot of emotions, all mixed into an amazing, rich and colourful package. One of those movies which you don't watch with your eyes, you don't constantly think what their meaning is, but you just feel what the pictures tell you and you just lie back and enjoy. (Seu Jorge is also great.)

-Esteban was eaten
-Is he dead?
-Esteban was eaten! Check the scanning monitor before it dives too deep!
-He was bitten?
-Eaten!
-He was swallowed whole?
-No! Chewed!

(If you're searching for a comedy relief, you won't find one, though.)

Marathon Man - I wish Hollywood would still make movies like this - intelligent, original, filled with suspense and well made. Laurence Olivier rocks and so does Hoffman.

Sun May 21, 2006 9:11 am

I'm not going to put a disclaimer on every movie I watch, so this goes for all movies: This following movie is not artistic nor does it have "depth".

Running Scared - What a ride. :o

I saw this movie on HBO and what is really interesting is the real-life aspect of high school society. I was interested until the shootings started , and the ending was very sad.

The next movie I see in theaters will be X3. Finally Beast makes an appearance , where has he been in the other 2 movies!?

Sun May 21, 2006 12:57 pm

I watched She's the Man, it was a pretty funny movie, too bad we couldn't see her tits.

Sun May 21, 2006 5:32 pm

Broken Flowers - another Bill Murray flick. It looks like he's having a midlife crisis or at least likes films with that theme (Lost In Translation, The Life Aquatic and this one). I liked BF the least from his recent work, but that still doesn't mean that it isn't a superb movie. Quite contrary, it's an original journey of a guy in his 50s who makes a transformation from a empty, lost womanizer to a guy with something meaningful to think about, something to keep him going. It's a slow movie and definitely not mainstream, so if like drugs, boobs and a lot of violence is what you're looking for, don't watch it.
