Why does liking Grace Kelly make you gay?

Thin, womanly-looking dude singing about wanting to be actress Grace Kelly.
I try to be like Grace Kelly
But all her looks were too sad
So I try a little Freddie
Ive gone identity mad!

It's understandable if the song is about admiring the woman, but the singer wants to be the woman.
And that Mika freak tries to imitate Freddie Mercury's voice. Bastard.

Funny you mentioned Tool, they're next on my list of being "perused".
I'm still sorting out the oodles of Nine Inch Nails songs in the PC to determine which are good and not.

I only know of Maynard James Keenan through the Rage song Know Your Enemy. I even didn't know then that he's the Tool frontman.

Just finished listening to Dredg's new album Catch Without Arms.

I'm not sure many people will like it, since it is fairly soft rock but I find their experimental sound to be pretty soothing.

You can 'Tube their song Bug Eyes if you're interested, but I'm not sure that many people will be into them.

My favorite band.
But "Catch Without Arms" is a bit too mainstream for my taste, you should try "Leitmotif", their debut album, and mostly "El Cielo", which is a masterpiece.

Great to hear a recommendation of their previous work, it'll be the first thing I download once I finish my exams. Dredg reminds me of Incubus' Light Grenades albums with their crunchy guitars and effects. His vocal range seems kind of similar to Incubus', well at least to me at least.

My favourite from Catch Without Arms is Zebraskin by the way.

Well, the previous releases are quite different. Much less "easy-listening", incorporating a bunch of different instruments, and with much more inspired lyrics. Each CD is a concept album by the way, and while "Catch..." 's concept isn't that groundbreaking, I definitely recommend digging into the stories behind "Leitmotif" and "El Cielo", at least if you get into their music, it's really interesting stuff.

If you just heard about this band, I can tell you that long-time fans consider their music more like a religious experience...For example, the symbol they use is tattooed on both my arms

The new Ne-Yo CD is pretty damn good. there's probably only about 3-4 songs that i don't like on it.

hey it don't matter with the ladies because when you got a voice like that, yuo could be as ugly as 8-hype and still pull chicks. well, maybe not 8-hype, i take that back.

(Y) on Explosions In The Sky magius, they're phenomenal.
Since you seem to be a post-rock junkie, I'd also suggest for you Mono, Caspian, North, Joy Wants Eternity, East Of The Wall, and If These Trees Could Talk...among many more.

not really a post rock or instrumental "junkie," but yes i do enjoy explosions, god speed, mogwai, and sigur ros. i liked the joy wants eternity ep (even though it sounds a lot like expolsions in the sky), but i'm having a hard time finding the new full length album, if it comes to it though i'll probably order it by mail. i just hate the wait, i'd rather buy it off the internet if you know anywhere i could. if these trees could talk is alright too, i'm not sure if i would call them post rock, but close enough. mono is a little more like trip hop, but i do enjoy my trip hop as well. the others i haven't head of, i'll be sure to check them out if i have the chance.

but to be honest, i almost guiltily admit that i'm listening a little more to folk rock and french music lately. Also i'm moving back towards classic jazz , and some contemp ones as well.

the only music i don't really listen to a lot is probably hip hop and rap. i know and listen to the classics like tribe and 2pac, fugees, etc., but the rest are dead to me.

Well, if you feel adventurous I would definitely recommend bands like The Dear Hunter, DeVotchKa or Kiss Kiss.

Not sure here, but you might have looked up the wrong Mono, I know there's 2 or 3 bands with that name. The one I mentioned is a Japanese band that's definitely not trip hop, they're labelmates of Explosions In The Sky and quite similar musically, except with longer songs.

Thanks man. From what I've heard of their live stuff on the internet, the quality of the music is impeccable. MJK's voice also is amazing.

Tool was amazing. What an awesome experience!!! I was bummed out missing some of their first song (Jambi, one of my favorites  ) but all of their songs are so great that it didn't even matter. It was just perfect. Maynard is such a cool dude, whenever he wasn't singing he'd be constantly moving around. It was just awesome. :D

Just got my hands on Ryan Adams tickets for the Palais Theatre in Melbourne. Can't wait! Been dying to see him live, couldn't afford it last time but I scrounged up the money this time round. Now I have practically seen all my favourite bands live except a few that haven't toured or are relatively new.
