:boohoo: fits in the music thread.

Wed Jan 03, 2007 1:50 am

Well obviously someone does if it's being discussed enough to take talk of (Insert ridiculous rapper name here) off topic and cause you lot to start crying. You obviously do care about the state of the rap thread since you didn't even get involved in this discussion until 9 days after it ended ffs.

Sorry I'm not on NLSC every day Jae, but I do have other things to do.

Bullshit, absolute bullshit.

Check for yourself? Read back, I'm sure you'll find A LOT more then 3 posters.

I did check for myself, hence my reason for making that comment in the first place.

Then fuck off and do one of those other things instead of whinging about something you probably really don't even care about, geez.

What the you even complaining about? That sounds like every other thread in NLSC existance anyway.

For a guy with such a hardcore name, you sure are a baby. :boohoo:

What the are you even coming in here trying to stir it up even more? Do you just come in here to ride me on some two week old post because you just have a natural urge to instigate? Seriously, two weeks old and you have nothing better to do except try to start a fire out of a burned out coal.

For a guy with such a masculine name, you sure are a bitch.

I don't think its a big deal, I can still figure out who's talking about rap and who's talking about rock.

Anyway, my music is dull and boring and I haven't gotten anything new in a long time, so can anyone recommend me any good recent rap songs or even a full album?

If I remember correctly, the rap thread was only "sustained" by Kriegz spamming it 10 times a day. Everytime it started to slip down the page, the idiot would bump it back up. He did this for several months... don't give this crap about it being an active thread that multiple people participated in.

Really it shouldn't matter that they're merged. If you're too fucking stupid scroll down and read the replies that apply to you, there's no helping you.

I guess you don't remember correctly then. Yea, he bumped it a few times but not 10 times a day. It was still active, regardless. Contrary to "popular" belief, more than three people posted in it. I know besides Kriegs since you mention him, me, Colin, CK, Skip, lpasso, Jugs, hova, Drama, OSF etc all posted in it.

That's why it stayed active since 2004 yeh? one person bumps it up every few months, riiiight.

Wed Jan 03, 2007 2:16 pm

Gentlemen, the thread's staying as is; period. There's no sense in arguing it any further. One umbrella music thread is all that is necessary, and it's simple enough to peruse past posts that don't apply to your liking.

Oakland Zuu - Concrete Jungle

omg i luv dat album

Wed Jan 03, 2007 4:55 pm

So anyone get that Talib Kweli & Madlib album they made free for download? (Y)

Wed Jan 03, 2007 6:17 pm

Funny how the rap haters are all against splitting the threads again and the pro-rap guys all want it to be their own thread again.
Maybe it's because the rock thread had like 3 pages and hadn't been posted in for half a year and the Rap/RnB one was one of the most active and large threads on the whole forum.

Wed Jan 03, 2007 8:22 pm

What I find funniest is that all of the pro-rap guys are crying like little bitches and getting absolutely nowhere.

Wed Jan 03, 2007 8:48 pm

You are the ones who are the ball lickers!

I dont know who I'm directing that towards.

I just love to spam.

Good one. Was it your idea to merge the music threads? If not I can't see why you would care about all this?

I thought it wasn't such a bad idea to merge them but it has proven to be annoying with all the different discussion about different music styles going through each other. I don't see why it's so hard for whoever merged the threads to admit that it didn't work out.

Thu Jan 04, 2007 3:46 am

Personally I´d prefer different threads for different music style. I really did like the Rap/RnB thread and there were about 10 persons posting regularly for sure. I do not really care about the Rock discussions or others, but it really does not make sense to discuss different topics in one thread all at the same time in my opinion. And actually I do not understand why Jae is getting that "angry" or at least a bit aggressive. There are more than only a few members who think that the old thread was better, so what speaks against it ?

btw check out some Blackalicious stuff, really sweet Hip-Hop ;)

Thu Jan 04, 2007 8:15 am

Chamillionaire-Mixtape Messiah part 2 is out on his website, free download. Definately worth a listen...multiple times. He just murders the hip hop is dead beat and tons of other ones.

I was the one who merged them, it wasn't my idea originally.

Huh?

Anyways this thread seems to be..

Post 1: Rap discussion
Post 2: Rap fan annoyed at thread merge
Post 3: Reply to previous post
Post 4: Rap discussion
Post 5: Rap fan bringing up thread merge again
Post 6: Reply to previous post
Post 7: Another attempt at rap discussion
Post 8: Rap fan again talking about thread merge

Etc... the fact is, it's merged and no one is changing it. Everyone's complaining about the White Stripes posts being off-topic or whatever, the only off topic posts are the whinging about the rap thread being merged with the rock thread. TBD seems to be trying to get things back on track so why not just follow his lead and let it go for once.

Thu Jan 04, 2007 10:54 am

Damn...

I think the merged thread is lame, but not nearly as lame as arguing it. That picture from ebaums about "winning" the special olympics would fit here...but it's more lame than either of the previous lame things. So I'll leave it out.

BTW, my current favourite new track: Sean Price "P-Body". A nice little 9th Wonder beat, but Sean P is the star here. "Kneel down and kiss the ring/R Kelly your verse when I piss on your 16"

Awww. *gives hug*

But yeah, you pretty much hit the nail on the head. I have nothing else better to do other than to stir up/instigate your 2 week old post (even though the issue was still being discussed the post before mine, but lets ignore that) But doesn't make it any less valid...

I like how your post's intention was to whine about my post calling you a whiner, and not tackle the issue at hand at all. Classy.

Yup, the album's gon be something to look out for definitely. Think it's due for a March release.

Kweli did the same thing for his album with Madlib, put it up for download on his site & myspace. Dope album as well

Thu Jan 04, 2007 3:58 pm

The beat to Picture Me Rollin' sounds familar to me but I can't put my finger on it... unless I'm just imagining things.

Thu Jan 04, 2007 11:16 pm

Sorry to grave dig, but..

Jae, as a Fall Out Boy fan, i was trying to remember which song featured the lyrics that you posted.. well i finally remembered to look while i was on the computer with music on it, and ive found it haha.. 'Tell Mick that he just made my list of things to do'.
And yes i agree, their old stuff (such as that song) owns the new stuff, although i do have a soft spot for Sugar, Were Going Down.. its just too damn catchy..

And dont you bastards ban me for this (bringing up something from like a month ago)

Fri Jan 05, 2007 3:46 am

I've listened to the Chamillionaire mixtape, fucking awesome mixtape.

I'm still trying to figure out which beat is used for Picture Me Rollin' :x
