The Lupe concert was pretty good (Y). It seemed like there were a lot of songs that everyboy was in to... I didn't know many of his songs so I wasn't into it as much as everyone else, but I thought he did really well. Only songs I really knew were "Kick, Push" (his big single) and "Tilted" (Thanks to NBA Live, which I find really funny for some reason  ) oh and he did his verse from "Touch the Sky" which I know pretty well. It was a relatively small venue (think House of Blues style with "General Admission" seating) so I was pretty close and had a good view of Lupe & the stage.

EDIT: come to think of it, "Kick, Push" is in this year's Live too huh?

Lupe is awesome, one of my top 3 favorite releases of the year for sure. Production was on point too.

Any thoughts on the new Jay-Z album.

I'm really liking it. The production is solid all the way throughout. And while Jay may not be as lyrically sharp as he was in the RD days, he's still nice on the mic. The album isn't as good as The Black Album was, but it's still a real nice album. Doesn't feel like there's a lot of smash singles here though, weird for a Jay album. There's nothing like a "Dirt Off Your Shoulder" or a "99 Problems". Nothing that really stands out as a single-choice. I'm not complaining about that at all, it keeps the "album" feel as opposed to just being a collection of songs, it's just weird.

So far...4.25/5.

I'm gonna check out Kingdom Come in a minute but so far the features don't look like too much quality...

I also think that 2Face is gonna be the shit. Can't wait.

Frankly, I'm a little disappointed with the album. A lot of songs did grow on me, but none of them really made as much impact as the songs from Fallen did. I was looking for something more heavy and others to have more piano, but it feels like it gets lost sometimes. A really neat song, I'd have to say is Cloud Nine.. very Halloween-like, and Sweet Sacrifice is a good song.

I finally picked this up. Overall, I think it's about as good as the last one, but with a different style. I like most of it, but I'd have to say my favourites are Sweet Sacrifice and Call Me When I'm Sober. It's definately here voice that makes the album, though. I think I'd listen to anything she sings.

Just checked "Kingdom Come" out. If it's one of those albums that grow on you then ignore what I'm going to say about it because I've only listened to it twice so far.

Anyways, from what I've heard it's nothing too special if you ask me. I agree with Colin that it sounds more like an album than just a collection of songs. I usually like that too but only if all the songs are equally great. In this case they're rather all average. The production is top notch as always, I gotta give him that. But overall this album is a 3.5/5 at best. Hopefully it gets better the more I listen to it.

Lupe's not advanced with his lyrics but he's still new to the game and I just hope he doesnt turn into another Kanye but I really like his no bling, nerdy and real to the game style. Just hope he doesn't have Pharrell appearing in his future videos.

I've also been hearing rumors that a new album from Shyheim is in production but that could be just rumors but it would be good to see him put out a record, he ripped it in his young days unlike Bow Wow with his weak rhymes and he'd be able to be lot more "colorful" with his lyrics since he's grown up.

I do not think he will turn into another Kanye. Kanye is a producer, that is why he has that much success and that is why he is that popular.
By the way I do not see this as a problem, just making it a bit more commercial is not that bad ....
And what do you mean by "advanced with his lyrics" ?

Btw nice sig, loving the Tribe (Y)

Anyone check out the new Clipse album or the new Eminem album? Clipse's Hell Hath No Fury is alright, it's not as good as I had expected it to be. I was pretty much hyped for it for the last two years but it didn't live up to all of my expectations.

Eminem's "The Reups" is a straight album. It's not like a solo album but he basically has a lot of remixes and collabs on the album. It's solid, I like it but I've only listened to it like twice.

The Clipse album is alright, though not a top album and not living up to the hype it was getting. I like Wamp Wamp and Ain't Cha the best.

Not checking the Eminem album, I can't stand G-Unit. I would've checked the Nas song if it was on there (like the fake tracklist released a while ago suggested).

ps. Skip I can't find that list of albums to be released (on your site) no more? :?

Right now Young Noble & Stic.Man - Soldier 2 Soldier is what's really up. Nobe is finally back to spitting fire again, I love that album.

You also might want to check out Kidz In The Hall - School Was My Hustle, it's quite nice.

Truth

Noble just completed a album with Fatal (Hussein Fatal, used to be in the outlawz) set for release in January. And apparently Fatal will be on the next Outlawz album. So that should be real good.

School Was My Hustle is definetely top five of the year, people need to check that out.

Classico
Fuck Her Gently

This is the best i can do. Flash Cartoon music videos. They're a comedy band consisting of Kyle Gass and Jack Black. I know it seems weird, but these guys can play guitar like no one else. Metal Roots, acoustic guitars, and hilarious lyrics....If you're in public, might wanna use headphones and make sure no ones watching cuz they're a little graphic in the videos...

If these are breaking copyright rules I apologize and I'll take them down. Let me know.
